Instrumentl has helped us grow our grant support significantly over the last two years. We've found new funders that deeply align to our mission and we've been able to more readily collaborate on grants that make the most of our time. The team behind the tool is always there to give support and help you use all the features in a way that fits your focus & goals.

Pros

Love this tool! It makes finding funders aligned with our organization simple & easy. Even better it gives us clear insight into funding cycles, average grant amounts, and geographic areas of service to make the most of our time.

Cons

It took me awhile to get used to toggling between different projects to see funding for different focus areas of our work. This wasn't much of a con though because the Intrumentl team provided a 1-1 call to train my team in using the tool and navigating the features.

Love how helpful and resourceful the specialists from Instrumentl are in answering my questions and providing resources and ideas.

Pros

I love how easy it is to track our grant opportunities coming up and storing all of the necessary info needed. Customer service is great. I get super quick responses to my very many questions and always helpful and put to use right away.

Cons

Wish I could do a generic search without putting in details for a search

Pros

The Instrumentl software is easy to access and use. Impressed with the wonderful, attentive customer service. It is absolutely great to be able to search for new opportunities and do the research using Instrumentl's tools . Having all our opportunities organized in one documents, being able to attach grant applications and other documents and knowing that we will be informed of upcoming deadlines s a game changer! Also , I have participated in a number of Instrumentl 's seminars and have found them to be informative and very helpful.

Cons

We are interested in integrating this software with Donor Perfect . Please comment and keep us updated on when this would be possible.

My experience with Instrumentl has far outshone my expectations - from the ease of learning how to navigate and utilize the site in seeking new funding opportunities, to providing a comprehensive grant/funding management platform for my organization's use, I and my coworkers could not be more please and happy!

Pros

What I like most of Instrumentl is how user-friendly it is - including for someone like me who is definitely NOT tech savvie!

Cons

There's actually nothing i've encountered in Instrumentl thus far that i'm not please with.

It's been great! I can't believe how many resources I've been turned on to that I didn't know about, and I've been writing grants (in different roles and different places) for almost 15 years.

Pros

Our team is a partner for non-profits and local governments, so we use this tool to help them identify, prioritize, and connect with "best fit" funders. We used to spend hours searching for the right resources (on top of writing the grants) - working with Instrumentl lightens that lift.

Cons

We haven't utilized all of the features yet because we're still pretty new and focused mostly on "discovery" - nothing to complain about or change so far!

It did not take long to get up to speed in the use of the application. The customer service is top notch.

Pros

What I love about Instrumentl is the extensive research database, ease of use, the fact that you can create and manage your Grants calendar via the application. Additionally, the reminders and weekly suggested matches are invaluable.

Cons

I don't have any cons to report at this time.

Reason for choosing Instrumentl

I believe Instrumentl had the largest database. Also, it was the only app I found where I could create a grants calendar via the application. Lastly, it also automatic matches/suggestions based upon my search criteria.

I like many features of Instrumentl, but mostly ease of use. You can build customized projects, sort them in a number of ways, track the grants you want to, and trigger warnings about due dates.

There are grants on here that are not on any other databases. We have cultivated excellent prospects and applied to 8 new funders for fy 23 so far and have received $150,000.00 from these sources thus far.

Cons

Tracking could be better organized. Due dates are often skewed

Instrumentl offers a well-rounded solution to funder prospecting and grant management for both in-house grant writers and consultants.

Pros

It is very user-friendly and customer service is amazing. I love the grant writing training and resources they offer without a subscription. As a grant writing consulting, I can organize clients and grant projects in Instrumentl which is not an option on other platforms.

Cons

I completely understand the price point because it is a stellar product, but I know that there are many freelance grant writers and small nonprofit organizations that just can't afford Instrumentl.

I would highly recommend Instrumentl. Along with being an efficient, effective way to manage grant applications from beginning to end, they also have lots of great resources, including some informative and engaging trainings/webinars.

Pros

Instrumentl is affordable, easy to use, and a great tool for prospecting, planning, collaborating, and tracking grant opportunities. Also, their customer support team is incredible--responsive, helpful, and friendly.

Cons

Love everything about it so far! Nothing comes to mind as of now.

Pros

I love the funder matches and the grant matches! We have already found new funder relationships through Instrumentl, and the platform cuts down significantly on time that I spend researching grants. It allows me to put more time towards writing grants!

Cons

I would love to have my grant deadlines from Instrumental be automatically inputed into my google calendar! That would be a great improvement.
