There doesn't seem to be a great way to organize the projects for quick and easy views. Runs smoothly. Allows me to keep track of my work more easily. There a few feature that I haven't used yet such as time tracking or the agenda but once I'm more comfortable I plan on using them. Pros The information is centralized and there different views option. We also have the a more concrete view of the time line for project and the steps in each projects. It runs smoothly and it's easy to re-access without having to enter your un/pw every time. Cons I can't look at several "space" without opening a new window/tab and log in to Birdview. No enough customization in regards to the view (i.e. the detail window is too small, etc.) or the click (i.e. right click to show options, double click to show details, etc.). I previously used Asana and I wish Birdview was organized similarly. It's hard to see the difference spaces, projects, and filters. The organization is overwhelming so it makes me use birdview only minimally. Pros I like the ability to put start and end dates and dependencies. I also like receiving emails about upcoming tasks. It is relatively easy to use the birdview interface. Cons I wish there was a desktop version of birdview. I find it hard locating the different spaces, especially with a large team. I also wish there was an easy way to view all my upcoming tasks that are due rather than having to see them by going to each space and project. I used Asana and like being able to see a list of tasks assigned to me by order of due date. The processes and workflows are easy to build, simple to maintain, and allow for easy scalability. Birdview offers just about everything a mature PMO would need without functionality that will likely never be needed, but other tools charge for. It really is the sweet spot of PPM tools. Pros The interface is very intuitive, and the tool has a very quick learning curve. It is very scalable and easily customized. The Table, Gantt, and Kanban Board views are great. Creating dependencies is super easy and overall administration is simple. Cons Dashboards would benefit from more visualizations. The company has tried to improve its customizability over the years, although fortunately they don't redesign the whole darn thing every time there's an update. It's be nice if we could change the colors, but that's not a big deal. Pros Birdview is one of the tabs that automatically opens whenever my browser loads because I'm in it all day long. I'd say it is fairly straightforward to use, but since most people who use it do the same steps repeatedly, you're going to learn your way around your part of it fairly quickly. I like that you can add messages to either the whole project or just a task. You can also create templates for the things you do over and over again, including ones with steps that are automatically assigned after the previous step is finished. There's also multiple ways to view your assigned tasks. Cons There really aren't any daily frustrations, which is nice. :) I would add that I don't think I use it to its full potential - it's sort of like a big rambling building where you only know your section of it. January 28, 2025 4.0 My only other previous experience with a project management platform has been Workamajig, and I prefer BV to that, but do sometimes feel overwhelmed between checking my assignments and notifications (I fall behind checking my notifications), but that may be due to being oversaturated with work. Pros #1. I like the ability to see all of the project steps instead of only seeing the steps that I am assigned to. #2. I like that I am able to check mine and everyone else's utilization percentage. Offers total visibility in the organization. Cons #1. I think the user navigation experience could be improved. I find I have to right-click on a project name and open it in a new tab to be able to see all of the project steps and main overview. I wish this process was more simple and did not require me to open a new tab. #2. This may be user-error, but I have had project managers reach out to me and ask if I can complete a project task by EOD, and I will tell them I do not have that task in my Assignments view (in either the Today or Later categories). They claim they are there and that I have so many tasks that it may not be populating? If it is a BV issue, its a pretty big oversight as I need to be able to see tasks due in the Today column, regardless of how many are in there. #3. I have had issues inputting time in the Time Log screen. I will enter the time and enter my comments and in my experience, there is a 10% probability that the time will not appear unless I refresh the window. #4. The people within my agency are not the best with file management, so as an employee departs, you can sometimes find links in the comments of tasks and projects and locate the files, but I would love if there was a field to enter a file location url before marking a task as complete. Everything was pretty straight forward and made my job that much easier, compared to other project management platforms like Monday.com. The email notifications are a lifesaver, they help me keep track of my work and recall deadlines. Pros I like that Birdview will send you email notifications of upcoming deadlines, the ability to have a conversation within each project and the purple circle that appears when something new occurs on a project. Cons If someone were to update something within the job description, I wish I would also get a notification that it has been changed/modified. Also, there is a delay to my email by at least 5-10 minutes when someone posts something or makes a comment. Engineer Renewables & Environment Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Not user-friendly timesheet software" March 16, 2025 2.0 I only use birdview twice a month to submit my timesheet, which is just enough time to forget every functionality I've ever learned and have it be a confusing not fun experience. My experience may be tainted by the fact that it is a timesheet software, which is hard to enjoy... Pros that you can track notes with time enteries Cons confusing, clunky, nonhelpful reports, not user-friendly. I wish it had automatic default hours based on your projects/expected load. It is also easy to find documents and notes related to a project. There are also reports that you can run relatively easily to track project status and progress. Cons Many projects can be made regarding one topic and sometimes the info provided using the search function can be overwhelming.
