April 18, 2023 4.0 Pros Since the merger of INE and Elearnsecurity, the number of courses and certifications available has hit a good balance of the cost and quality. There is a commitment to continuously upgrade the certifications. Some of the videos look like like they are playing from a VHS tape on a CRT display. Pros Their marketing is on point and good enough to trick you in thinking these are a partner you can trust. Cons Labs suck. Old platform. Laggy as heck. Half of the time things freeze as you are working and guess what? Start again. Cons I would have preferred tailored and custom-built labs, instead of Mutillidae-esque labs. However, I do understand the range of vulnerabilities offered by those platforms. It is indeed very easy to use. Although not perfect it also have labs and assessments that work and always come with solutions and explanations. Cons INE does a great job with the interface, but sometimes the platform seems a little "heavy" considering the nice simplicity of it. They made it fun by allowing us to work in a hands on way while only needing access to a browser to use. The paths were useful as well because they contain all the courses required for mastery of the path. Cons The only feature I did not like that much was the lack of being able to track paths. Senior Linux System Administrator Information Technology and Services Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "eJPTv2 - Review of INE course and Certification" September 15, 2023 4.0 Overall, the I like that the eJPTv2 exam was inexpensive and allowed me to test the waters of pentesting--which I found that I enjoy and I would be happy working as a pentester. I also liked eJPTv2 exam--it was a realistic blackbox pentesting scenario that gave me a chance to apply what I've learned and demonstrate that I've got what it takes to work in a junior pentesting role. Pros I like that INE provides the eJPTv2 certification and training at a low cost compared to other companies that provide cybersecurity certifications and training. The eJPTv2 training course walked through all phases of pretesting and I learned about how to approach pentests and use pentesting tools. The eJPTv2 exam was practical, not multiple choice, and the exam was based on a realistic network--the exam was challenging but not too difficult. Cons I wish \[sensitive content hidden\] did the whole eJPTv2 course. The parts of the course that \[sensitive content hidden\] covered felt rushed. Also, the eJPTv2 training was repetitive. The eJPTv2 course is comprised of different modules that seem to have a lot of overlap. I didn't go through the entire training, but instead relied on knowledge gained from prior training on Hack The Box and Try Hack Me. Additionally, the eJPTv2 exam probably won't get me a job as a junior pentester, but it shows that I have the drive to learn about pentesting and cybersecurity on my own time--at this time the eJPTv2 doesn't seem to be recognized by the majority of employers. I'd invest my entire salary to keep the subscription of this platform. I'm currently consuming PTS and preparing for eJPT. The content has grown addictive on me. Cons In the beginning when I bought the subscription, I'd a bit of trouble with lectures not playing for first 1st week. It suddenly got fixed on its own I don't know how and their support team was pretty active and trying to help me out so for that I appreciate the team but that 1st week was a bit frustrating because of the video player problem. The aim is to improve my marketability when applying for future job roles in the IT and cyber job space. Pros I like the smooth user interface via the web browser. The layout is easy to use and navigate. The range of training on offer is broad as it is extensive covering a wide range of topics and subject matter across the cyber and IT domains. The instruction provided via the on-demand video content is presented to a high standard by instructors who are both engaging and knowledgeable. Through INE certification there are dedicated pathways which work towards achieving your aims with industry recognised accreditation. Cons There is very little to criticise. INE could add some additional features to validate knowledge and understanding through more labs or skills tests in between sections, but this is only very minor. Review Source AS Ali S.
