### "Power Apps - Application creation at fingertips"

December 16, 2025

5.0

Power Apps was very easy to learn. My first project with Power Apps for a client was also my on the go learning project. The customer feedback of this application was outstanding as it was easy to use and was the least buggy application they had ever used.

Pros

It is a very easy to use platform. No coding experience or knowledge is required to create basic web applications and is seamlessly integrated with microsoft 365 and other power applications.

Cons

The applications built on Power Apps is only compatible for web interfaces. It would have been great if these application could also be deployed on desktop.

### "Microsoft Power App somewhat satisfied user"

December 29, 2025

3.0

Overall I thought that the power app function was hard to use to make integrations. The training was poor and left a lot of gaps

Pros

There are multiple apps that have multiple functions. Loop is the most used app for me. It is a great tool for project management

Cons

I lost the app and there was no way to recover the data from it. This caused multiple projects to be lost

### "Steep learning curve but a great tool for process automation"

June 30, 2025

5.0

Onboarding was hard but once i got familiar with the platform i enjoyed building on top of it. I currently use it for my daily activities.

Pros

great productivity and automation tool with very powerful capabilities. It does require some coding knowledge but it has a lot of shortcuts, depending on your usecase

Cons

Working with complex data inside Power Apps seems like a struggle. Although it tries to help you with all the actions/connectors it still has a steep learning curve. Some of what you would consider basic or mandatory integrations are missing

### "Low-code, but daunting and sluggish"

January 6, 2022

4.0

We attempted to use Power Apps to create a tracking app for external trainees.

Pros

Power Apps offers real strength in its integration with SharePoint and the rest of the Office ecosystem. Pricing is reasonable, as some access is included with some tiers of Microsoft 365,

Cons

We found that running an app on top of a SharePoint list resulted in a sluggish experience that discouraged our external users. In addition, designing a Power App seems a little more daunting than in a competitive no-code/low-code product.

### "It's an adventure and an experience"

May 2, 2025

4.0

Overall it has been an experience. Some things I'm like "wow, this is sooooo coooool!". And with other actions, I'm scratching my head for days trying to figure out where the heck I need to go or what to do to get things to work. SO overall a mixed bag, but the end results are always pleasing.

Pros

Power Apps is great with the ability it gives novice users to create forms and applications for people to use. It's easy to place/arrange controls on forms, and connect them to database columns in the "dataverse".

Cons

Power Apps isn't as intuitive as other packages out there. For example, Nintex with their form creation tools. It was a struggle to learn what should have been a few simple steps, and eventually after lots of googling and youtube watching, had to get someone to actually walk through some steps.

### "Microsoft Power apps review"

November 16, 2025

5.0

For many use cases, building in Power Apps can be cheaper than contracting a full software development team.

Pros

The apps you build work on web browsers, tablets, and mobile devices. Microsoft’s Copilot integration helps generate app logic or UI based on natural language, speeding up development.

Cons

Power Apps can struggle with large datasets: performance can degrade, especially with non-delegable data sources.

### "A User-Friendly Tool for Simple App Development"

January 9, 2025

4.0

Overall, I was satisfied with PowerApps for quickly creating and deploying apps. However, if you’re looking to build more complex or feature-rich services, it might not be the best choice.

Pros

PowerApps is a user-friendly, low-code platform that’s ideal for beginner developers or non-technical users who want to create their own web or app pages. It integrates easily with other Microsoft services like Excel or SharePoint, offering a lot of flexibility. The interface is intuitive, making it easy to get started.

Cons

While it’s great for creating basic web or app pages, it lacks the capability to embed more sophisticated features. It’s best suited for simple applications and can feel quite heavy at times.

### "Excelente ferramenta"

October 5, 2022

5.0

Reason for choosing Microsoft Power Apps

Pela comodidade sem necessidade de ter que criar tudo do zero. Pois poderia aproveitar o que ja tinha no Excel e adaptar para o PowerApps.

### "Fantastic no-code web app development platform"

December 22, 2024

5.0

I like it for the sole reason that a web/mobile application can be easily developed with very minimal effort by just dragging and dropping the required items to the development canvas and also its very easy to publish the application using the publish button. Also power automate automation flows can be directly linked to power app objects and activated based on you required trigger quite easily

Pros

The best part is you can create a fully functional web application with very minimal coding as it allows to connect to the data source easily eg sharepoint list by just providing the location and name of the lit and design the layout of the webpage effortlessly based on the data source by adding multiple element from the wide variety of inbuilt objects such as drop down, text box ,gallery etc

Cons

The development environment is a bit slow if there are many objects in the canvas

### "Powerful yet simple, low code application building"

August 2, 2022

4.0

Developing in Power Apps has been really enjoyable because of the ability to achieve quick outcomes that are also powerful and therefore can be used meaningfully within my organisation.

Pros

If you can imagine it, you can build it. Power apps has a simple interface for designing and deploying applications that is flexible and lead to beautifully designed applications with minimum effort. Coupled with Power Automate, Power apps is a powerful tool that, with a small amount of simple code, can produce powerful outcomes. Also, as part of the Office 365 suite Power Apps can make use of staff user information and through Power Automate, perform complex actions across all most other apps across the suite.

Cons

Form field creation is simple but time-consuming without the ability to template a form field for re-use. Power FX, the coding language behind Power Apps is simple for basic applications but can quickly become difficult to master as you begin to do more with your app. Though often you can offload the processing to Power Automate where you can do more without having to type code.

### "A great low-code platform"

March 29, 2023

4.0

As a smaller organization, we don't have access to tons of resources or the money to gain that access. Power Apps came out at the perfect time for some direct needs we had and we haven't looked back. While it took (and is still taking) a bit of time to learn the platform and the constant state of change it is in, there is no way we could have created the tools that we now have in any other platform. We are able to get the right information to the right people at the right time and have them take meaningful action on it in a way that we can customize and make "our own". This is far better than any out-of-the-box solution as we don't have to make many compromises and it can be tailor-fit to our needs and refactored as those needs change. While this tech comes at a cost, it has saved us literally tens of thousands of dollars per year in employee hours, preventative loss due to near-real-time data being at our fingertips, and even helping us to realize income faster. It has been a force multiplier that allows us to compete on a level that a company of our size probably wouldn't be able to otherwise.

Pros

The thing I like most about Power Apps is the fact that a person can go from problem to solution in a short amount of time, and share that solution with anyone in the company who needs it. While that is a bit simplified, it's mostly the way things work. Of course, the caveats begin with all the licensing and data source considerations but, generally speaking, it is super easy to get a solid tool into production and get back to business.

Cons

The main issues I have with Power Apps are how difficult it can be to style apps. There are precious few ways to implement a pre-defined design (and frankly, I'm not a fan of any of them) so there is a good amount of front-end work if you want your apps to be consistent and follow a system. I think this could be viewed as a small issue, but I think it is one that doesn't need to exist in the way it does. There are other gripes I could post as well about how difficult it can be to do seemingly simple things. For instance, there is no way to fit text horizontally. To do this, you have to create an HTML text object, rotate it 90 degrees, use the vertical fit to get the size, and apply that to a horizontal text control. Of course, the realist in me chalks this up to the low code nature of the tool and that there are going to be some blind spots. I've not found an issue that couldn't be hacked around in some way and while this isn't ideal, it is still faster and cheaper than building the tool in something else.

Reason for choosing Microsoft Power Apps

I don't recall the names of the different products we looked at but none of them had the flexibility or ability to integrate with the tools we were already using and in the ways we needed. It has been the perfect fit for our company.

### "Great custom app building tool but expensive and not entirely easy"

November 11, 2023

5.0

Good app building, but when you reach a certain level of use and complexity you have to pay for a mind blowing licence that most small and medium business won’t be able to afford. That’s why for small and medium business I’ll probably continue to recommend AppSheet instead of Power Apps.

Pros

Thanks to the integration of Figma, you can give great look to your apps. The ability to create both desktop and mobile apps is great. It is easy to deploy. It easily connect to SharePoint lists and librairies.

Cons

If you want to setup specific behavior, the coding language of Power Apps is not really easy and many times you’ll have to turn to Power Automate to complete the business flow wanted for your app. Also the personalization options of Power Apps are limited, that’s why I recommend designing your app in Figma and import your Figma in Power Apps.

Alternatives considered

Switched from

[AppSheet](https://www.capterra.com/p/149367/AppSheet/)

Because I upgraded my Microsoft 365 licence and the level of features of Power Apps with my licence for my current needs was enough for now to stop paying for AppSheet, but should my needs increase I may consider returning to AppSheet since it’s less expensive than the upgrade licence of Power Apps.

### "Powerful Low Code App Development For Citizen Development"

July 1, 2022

4.0

Overall experience is good as it is convenient and creative to use power apps for internal business productivity.

Pros

This software is very good in terms of overall connectivity, integration, and dataverse usage from office 365. It does stand a little away to be standalone software until not supported by other power platform apps.

Cons

The basic agenda of the software is to promote the low code application development and for supporting citizenship development programs.

### "Easy-to-use Business Apps Builder."

May 5, 2022

5.0

I use Microsoft Power Apps within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem and Office 365. For instance, I build simple Power Apps consisting of Power Automate, Power Bi dashboard, Microsoft forms, Outlook, and OneDrive connectors. Then I publish the application internally within my company's SharePoint to allow team members access to data insights and learning analytics regarding our company's training programs and students' performance. Microsoft Power Apps empower team members to make data-informed decisions and product iterations. It allows instant feedback, facilitates a dynamic workflow, and enhances business performance.

Pros

Microsoft Power Apps is an efficient low-code Business applications Solution. It's easy to use and allows non-developers to create and customize applications tailored to their business needs. Power Apps make it easy to turn ideas into published applications and keep creators focused on the business aspects/goals of the applications rather than the technologies under the hood. It has a user-friendly drag and drop editor, custom templates, and a wide range of connectors that seamlessly integrate multiple applications into one PowerApp.

Cons

The Microsoft Power Apps access Permission management requires a deeper level of technical expertise and confuses users with a non-technical background.

### "Power Apps is a fantastic Low Code Dev Platform if you are using O365"

April 4, 2023

4.0

We are using O365 pretty heavily and had need of some specific applications to manage some processes that were being done manually. Rather than purchasing a product, we decided to use Power Apps to build something to handle these tasks. We already had access to it based on our existing O365 licensing and there were templates that were already close to what we wanted to do. It really only took a couple hours of development to put it together and we had a purpose built app that ultimately didn't cost us anything more than what we already were paying.

Pros

The ease of building a custom app. The functionality you get even with the base M365 licensing. It really only takes a couple hours to put something workable together. With templates it can take even less time.

Cons

I can see there can be some clear limitations and scalability. I wouldn't use it to run a whole operation, but smaller specific apps. Licensing beyond the base features can be confusing and can get expensive quickly. Potentially more than just purchasing a program from some other vendor. Not everyone documents pieces of their app properly and can lead to issues. This is just a problem with self development of an app.

### "Power Apps - Create your own App"

May 27, 2023

A powerful tool for application creation and low code development. It offers its best in giving features and functionalities.

Pros

A low code automation platform that we can connect with many sources like Excel, PowerBI, SharePoint, etc.The main advantage and good thing that I have seen is that it supports mobile devices.Drag and drop features are very impressive.

Cons

It is accessible only to the user who has a Microsoft account.Only one developer can work at a time in the canvas application.
