November 17, 2017 5.0 We used Google Docs / Word Docs for proposals prior to implementing Octiv, which caused two problems: 1) They looked terrible. 2) It was hard to maintain a standard format for proposals team-wide while still giving individual AEs the ability to customize proposals. 3) We couldn't get any intelligence (when they viewed the proposal, what they looked at, etc.) 4) Lacked an electronic signature. Now, our proposals look great and really 'wow' prospects, they're easy to customize within pre-defined templates, our reps can follow-up based on when proposals get viewed, and our close rate has increased since we're no longer collecting scanned signature pages. Pros Sales process was low-pressure. The user interface is easy-to-use, and Octiv's training/onboarding set us up for success from day one. Great company with great people! Proposals are beautiful, and we get great analytics. Cons We weren't able to integrate a payment /processor gateway but that has more to do with our current stack than a gap in Octiv's capabilities. Pros Conga enabled my team to easily create and automate all of the different plans and polices that we manage through the use of templates and highly configurable fields, all while maintaining our specific branding and format. Cons Conga can be daunting for new users. Thankfully, they have great resources for training and getting users started with creating their own documents. April 19, 2018 5.0 Pros I liked how easy the product was to upload to Salesforce and then send to the clients for signing. It was not only easy internally for the person sending the document but also for the client to open and access (which means the most)! Cons I didn't really have any cons about the software. It was very easy for the client to use which is what mattered most since majority of the time we would send the document while on the phone with them and walk them through signing. We can just create each file and the next person can merge all of the data together with a single mail merge. Another benefit is being able to combine multiple files into a single report that is professional looking that we can then send off to a client. This program saves a lot of time and promotes accuracy by getting rid of human error. Pros I like that conga Composer saves me time because I do not have to go back and forth and re enter the same information- especially lots of data. I'm pretty sure that I make fewer errors because I don't have to re enter all of the data by hand. There are easy to find categories to merge and then create a single professional product. Cons There can be issues with its integration with Salesforce. It will sometimes freeze and we have to restart Salesforce or sign in over and over. It also sometimes comes up with all of the fields blank that were supposed to be filled in by the mail marge. You always have to double check a document before submitting it because potentially all of the fields will say zero. This happens every once in a while. Review Source DR Denise R. Now, our proposals look great and come across much more professional to our customers and prospects. They're easy to customize within the provided templates, our sales team can follow-up based on when proposals get viewed, and our close date has decreased since we're no longer collecting scanned signature pages. We are able to close deals faster and get customers implemented quicker. Pros The flexibility in document creation is excellent, allowing us to generate files in any format we need. The file-sharing system is effective, enabling us to send large files that can’t be shared via email. Additionally, the collaboration feature makes it easy for our team to work on documents together in real-time. Cons The interface is not easy to use. Some of the tutorials help but my team found the learning curve difficult. It's a bit expensive for our small business use. I can see a large organization seeing the value for the price. Pros One of the best features is the document generator. From a users' perspective it is more than comfortable to generate a a document with fields that were already filled in Salesforce, rather than to open up i.e. Word and fill out an existing form. On the admin side it is also well to administer. The software is overall well maintainable. Furthermore the component can be easy to set up on corresponding Salesforce objects via different buttons. Cons From a users' perspective the intuitive UI and the product itself are easy to use. However it can be sometimes a bit frustrating for an admin to create a new template using Conga Queries. For me personally it would help a lot if the query builder would be a bit quicker and if it could also display merge fields. These merge fields are (at least in our org) currently only avaiable in the composer itself via the Template Builder. Sometimes it can be also difficult to debug a template. It can happen that a template might throw a SOQL-exception but it isn't shown where the exeption was thrown. Review Source JH Julia H. Pros Conga makes it easy to create templates for contracts, forms and any other kind of document that can be autopopulated by our CRM and customized with data that has already been entered. We can create contracts very easily that are all consistent with one another without waiting for a member of our office team to create documents for the sales reps. It empowers the sales team to be able to send out proposals and contracts on their own time rather than waiting for other members of the team. Cons Setup can take a while to get used to. There are a lot of unique ins and outs about Conga templates that can get very complicated, if you have a complicated use case. Review Source SW Sam W. Most of the features we require are there, they just look a little dated and aren't as user-friendly as they might be. Pros When we moved CRMs it was useful to be able to upload existing documents in Word format and then just update the new merge fields. The documentation on the website is good and relatively comprehensive. The admin side of the lightning app has some nice features. Cons It takes a long time to load the Conga Composer app/component in order to generate a document. The app itself looks 'retro'/still in the style of Salesforce Classic. Similar softwares have nicer, user-friendly, document creation features, this means our sales admin team are reluctant to create documents themselves and everything relies on more IT literate Salesforce admins to create the documents. Cons Still missing an easy drag&drop template designer.We still work on clunky word templates, that sometimes switch to total format chaos, when you just pull a certain field somewhere else - we all know that.Probably we are on outdated versions, but there's room for development, if not.If you drop in with special characters, data transfer to the Conga server gets stuck / frozen. All of our proposals and other documents are generated using Conga, which was the intended use, but we have also created reports (like material tracking reports) to support the business which was an unexpected use of the software. Cons There have been a few areas we would like to be able to use Conga (like inserting an existing file in between templates) that we are unable to or have needed to find a workaround (the file becomes an image rather than just being the selected file was the only workaround for this use-case). Much better than other things I have used. Ultimately flexible! And performant. Pros It is so easy to use. Within minutes, I can set up a basic composer template. Within two hours, I can set up a dynamic document from a set of clauses. Within a day, I can set up an entire document package complete with proposal presentations, quote documents, marketing glossy PDFs, and all based on parameters determining what should be included in the package.
