The software offered all the functionality that was needed to the team. Pros What I liked best about Sage 100 was the value and the support offered. The software met all my reporting needs. Cons What I liked least about Sage 100 was that it did not offer an cloud based services for remote access for myself and the team. Large group of Master Developers that have add-ons to meet any challenges in accounting that may arise - example EDI processing. Cons Proprietary database. Not a real-time database for transactions - it is a batch processing system. SQL solutions not as robust as their proprietary database solution. Project manager Food Production Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "An all in one solution to accountancy and orders" January 27, 2026 3.0 In the end we kept using Sage for a long time for our accountancy side o0f the business. our accountant was fully trained on this and was able to train others so it made sense. We went and got alternative softwarew for the placing and receiving orders side of the business. If you did just want to get one piece of software though, it can do it all. Pros We used Sage 100 in two ways. We used it for the accountancy side and we also used it as our ordering software. As an accountancy package it was great. It took me a little bit longer to learn than some other programmes but in it's defence it was the first software of this type I had ever used. It served more than one functiona s a business when we started. Cons When it came to using it as our ordering software (both orders coming in and PO's for purchases) it seemed quite a long process compared to software we have used since which is specifically tailored to this function. It has now evolved into Sage 50 and into Sage 100. This program still out does the accounting principles of other programs. Thank you Sage! Pros Sage 100 uses GAAP, generally accepted accounting principles, in every small business this is a must use tool. Sage has provided the program to the school system as educational partners. I know several past students who now use Sage in their daily lives because they learned the program in high school Cons Sometimes the program is difficult to install in a school setting in our lab environment. With that being said I fully understanding the licensing is a difficult thing to keep track digitally. Little to no support from customer service (usually just told to look in the knowledge base). At one point we stated to pay for outside help. There are much better options out there. Pros We used the contractor version of Sage 100. It was a nice all in one solution with everything in one place. Invoicing was pretty simple for our accounting to use. Cons Mobile app didn't do anything, it was extremely basic. Taxes were not actually calculated on employees pay (it still calculated it but didn't actually track it, just stopped at one point but only for a few and it wasn't caught), estimating module could use a lot of work to update it. January 10, 2025 5.0 I personally love it, and it is very user friendly, but because I had the local (not web based) version I could only get to log in VIA remote etc... but it suited everything I needed for my company. Pros sage is very develop-able and can be adjusted to do all your needs, ( only with a Great Re-seller ) Cons the least I like about sage is that in order to really get an understanding of the software you must have an awesome re-seller and there is only a handful (maybe a bit more) and they charge huge amounts of money to do the work.... so, it ends up being very pricey... Pros The way you can manage the bill of material when developing and maintaining products in the manufacturing facility. Pros Sage is old and the core functionality is solid. It "just works" for most smaller companies Cons Sage really isn't intended for large / complicated environments. Once you've gone above 50 simultaneous users and add third party integrations for taxing, credit cards, warehouse management, etc... you'll notice lag in the system regardless of the hardware resources assigned to it. Owner Accounting Used the software for: 2+ years ### "SAGE 100 is a Winner" July 27, 2021 5.0 Overall, Sage has helped with running our business and keeping everything straight - I would say my (our) experience with Sage has been a positive one. Pros It is a very robust package of modules - each module is for a specific task - general ledger, AP, AR, Inventory, etc. Once you have your company setup you assign your staff to be responsible for one of the modules and they become the expert in the module. All modules are integrated with the other modules so there is no need to upload and run sync programs - it is all done for you. Cons Sometimes the modules are not as intuitive as other modules - I can only guess different software designers designed different modules and therefore the nuances of writing logical code differ from individual to individual. This makes more a bit of discontinuity across the modules. Somethings a module will crash due to some parameter not having a specific number or letter in the database (don't even know how that would happen!) and you cannot diagnose it yourself - you have to call customer service. It will cost you money if you don't have a CS plan and chew up at least an hour of your time. However, in fairness it does not happen too often. Review Source Ezechiel Narcisse A. With my busy schedule and the number of clients I'm servicing, I don't have the time to keep track of all my business finances. Sage 100cloud is the perfect solution for me. I can track my cash in and out, see where I'm at with my payables and receivables and create reports for my accountant. I also use the supply chain module to track my suppliers and create an automated purchase order system. Sage 100cloud is a great solution for businesses that don't have time to keep up with their finances. Pros I was looking for a new cloud-based solution to manage my accounting and finances because my old program was not able to handle my business' complicated processes, and I found Sage 100cloud. This solution helps simplify your finances by providing a single source of data for items like cash management, financial procedures and supply chain management. You can manage your entire business from anywhere on any device, so I can check my finances from my phone or tablet. Cons I haven't really had any issues with this product so far. Easy to train and configure to your companies needs. Highly recommend this product Pros Sage is easy to setup. The ability to customize your invoices to include Logos and what is required to be shown on your invoices is essential. The ability to setup your fonts and how you want reports to print and look makes it very personable. Cons I would like the ability to copy a Journal entry to reuse as opposed to saving as a stored entry. Coping entries on the fly is much faster. Pros The production management module helps us keep track of all inventoried products and our built product. It can be easy to use if you know what you are doing. Being able to have different dates used per module is useful when you are able to use them properly. Cons There is a lot of background "stuff" that happens without you knowing. Also, unless you notice a discrepancy, the software will not tell you about it. We have had to rebuild the sort files in order to have the proper inventory show up.
