Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "A good time saver" November 30, 2017 4.0 Pros It's simple to set up and easy for my clients to use. I like the way AutoEntry integrates with QuickBooks Online. Cons I don't like it when items get stuck in processing. Some of my clients send a spreadsheet of their expenses along with the actual receipts. The spreadsheets then remain in processing. The sage integration works well and efficient. Cons It would be very good if it had an option for the ex. Reference on Sage. At this time it enters the doc number in the ex. Excellent customer support. Cons Processing time is a bit long sometimes as long as 24 hours. Uploads purchase invoice doesn't allow to export to excel. I like the layout and the features (when they work). Pros Autoentry connects to Freeagent which is really useful. I can turn items sent into me into invoices which I've not seen before and I think they've got their pricing strategy right. Cons The 'autofetch' document search... whereby the system is supposed to go into suppliers, and pull out any invoices hasn't been working for me, so for this reason (which was the critical reason what I signed up as I wanted that automation and time saving function), I have since paused our subscription. I don't bame the software, I think it may be the suppliers website. Eitherway, its not working for me. There's a lot of time saved than manually entering them. You just have to scan, enter in a few different fields, and you're done. It saves the use a lot of time. It is also very affordable compared to other competitors on the market. Cons Everything is done manually, so even though its fast there are no shortcuts at the moment. There can sometimes be errors with the numbers that get entered into the software, but they don't happen a lot. Otherwise its a quick and easy process to upload items. Review Source Stephen J. The bank statement scanning feature in particular is very good and this is not available on a lot of similar software that we have looked at. We've also found customer service to be very good so far where we have been unsure about anything, although having said that it is fairly straight forward to use. Cons We haven't come across any significant issues as yet, other than some minor rounding of VAT differences when the data is imported to QuickBooks Online. All customer support can suggest is to delete and reinstall the app. It’s been on going for months. Pros Quick and easy to upload receipts and invoices. Cons No customer support. Within our office we have several clients using the system and it really helps reduce their storage issues and filing issues within their premises as they can take a photo of the invoices or scan them in and then they've got a hard copy so can shred the original. Cons It does take a considerable amount of time for the APP to read the data once submitted. Hopefully this is something can can be improved moving forward. Clients now send all there expenses to the email address you are supplied and send us there bank statements at the end of the year. Really has cut down on our data entry allowing us to spend more time reviewing and assisting where possible. Cons Links up with most accounting software but Digita is not on that list. Sage is also not seamless, only provides an import file. Hopefully there will be the option in the future to link to Sage drive Review Source DL David L. Accountant Accounting Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Am I missing something?" March 30, 2021 1.0 I use spreadsheets and bridging software for most client needs. Keeps it simple, and avoids the client getting in a pickle with double entry packages such as QuickBooks or Xero. No disrespect to those products at all, but they are not needed for most of my client base. All I wanted AutoEntry to do was take the scanned purchase invoices and create a spreadsheet that showed supplier name, invoice date, the net/VAT/gross split and the cost category. It can do it, but it takes twice as long as just battering through a bundle of invoices at your desk. There are too many steps, too many forced processes. Given that I tried it with a couple of pub clients, who had a tiny volume of invoices due to lockdown, I'm genuinely stumped as to how it would have coped once the trade resumes properly. Customer support was good, the product is not. Pros Not much, other than the fact that it stores the image of the invoice, so it can be referred to if needed once the originals have been filed away or returned to the client. Cons It's clunky, non-intuitive and just reinforces my scepticism about systems that claim to be some kind of Holy Grail for accountants. Review Source Myles D. The App makes it easy to use on the go. Value for money compared to some other OCR technologies. Does purchase invoices, sales invoices and bank statements all in one place. Cons It would be good if you could approve and post items directly from the app rather than having to be on the desktop site. The app can take up a lot of storage on your phone. Pros The fact that I don't have to print or save every supplier invoice that I receive for my business and my clients businesses means we save time. We are saving time on processing and I can better track my staff and their productivity. I am freeing them up to do other work. Cons Being technically challenged to a certain degree it did take me some time to understand what the product can do and how it could assist my practice. The support staff could have done better in this department explaining how it could be practically used. Pros AutoEntry attaches the invoice in to Sage. the chat is very responsive and friendly. Cons It does not automate if you need your order number in Sage. It is a lot more expensive than the competitor.
