Microsoft To Do

Microsoft To Do Overview:

### Key takeaways

Insights from verified Capterra reviews

Microsoft To Do helps small businesses and individual users organize daily tasks with calendar sync and mobile access. It’s most used by administrative and IT roles in SMBs. Reviewers value its scheduling and editing tools, though collaboration features are limited.

### Our verdict

Microsoft To Do is a practical choice for SMBs that need lightweight task tracking without adding to their software spend. Its simplicity supports fast adoption, but buyers should expect trade-offs in collaboration depth and project-level planning. The tool works best when paired with other Microsoft apps, where its integrations help offset its limited standalone scope.

Everything works perfectly, and the app is easy to use. Tasks scheduled in the Microsoft To Do app help me manage my time and get things done faster. Now I never forget anything.

Pros

Fast performance and a wide range of options. Resizable windows. Compatibility with Outlook. Clear task list.

I use Microsoft To Do on a constant basis to keep track of my projects, tasks, and other general needs around the business. I can share the load, or take on other tasks as needed with zero issues. It's truly helped me be my best self when it comes to project management and time management.

Pros

Microsoft To Do has some great features, and really helps me keep track of my day. As someone who can be all over the place, this product helps me keep my task list organized so I can best prioritize what needs to be done. I can manage each project, one at a time, based on how I scheduled myself to do so in To Do. And even better, I can assign some of these tasks to other users, allowing us to collaborate better. It's part of our overall M365 package, so I would say it's worth the money.

Cons

I ran into a few issues earlier on, regarding collaboration, and when I reached out to customer support, they were helpful, if not a bit slow, in realizing that we had incompatible versions of the software installed. A quick update and we were good to go.

An easy to use, close to hand and simply designed To Do list with a more limited task and project management capacity. Great for getting started as a basic to-do list, but not quite suitable for power users.

Pros

One of the most accessible and in-built to-do list tools available as stock with the Microsoft Suite. You will find it built in to Outlook across desktop and iOS Apps. This makes it feel close to hand and enables easy task management and collaboration across teams.

Cons

Whilst it is built in and close to hand, the thing I like least is how quickly the number of tasks quickly gets out of hand, or where, task management becomes more difficult. I would like it more if you could more easily group tasks into categories and visualise them across timelines.

Microsoft To Do is a simple and effective tool for managing daily tasks and personal workload within projects.

Pros

The app is easy to use and integrates well with Outlook. Task lists are clear, reminders work reliably, and it helps stay organized throughout the day.

Cons

It lacks advanced project management features, so it works best for personal task tracking rather than team-wide planning.
