There are multiple departments and each one needs the program for different reasons. The program is very suitable for those with basic Word skills as well as Advanced Word skills. Pros Microsoft Word is instrumental to our day-to-day business operations. Overall, the interface is very easy and for those who are less tech savvy, formatting is automatic. The variation of fonts, templates and styles makes Word a go to for everyone in the office vs. just one department. In my role specifically, mail merge, macros and quick parts automate many tasks and increase productivity. In addition, it is integrated with our Client Management System and operates well within their system. Cons The largest overall issue with Microsoft Word would be file compatibility. Unfortunately, it does not always work well when opening documents that were originally on another platform (For example: Google Docs).
