### "Adapting Adobe Commerce to the real estate industryow"

December 23, 2023

4.0

I am comfortable with the scalability of , I was assured of its performance as the real estate company grew.

Pros

The best thing I think is the scalability issue, you can increase the volumes without losing quality in the web pages and it also has a wide variety of functions such as marketing.

Cons

The time for corrections is very short, the updates can become annoying because of the recurrent updates and also require technical knowledge for the first time configuration

### "E-Commerce Centered CMS"

October 5, 2018

4.0

Pros

Unlike WordPress or Joomla, Magento comes built with core features such as shopping cart, product catalog, and payment processing. Templates allow you to get a site up and running with relative little knowledge of web development provided you at least have the skills needed to setup or deploy to a web server.

Cons

Template customization would be extremely challenging for a novice web developer as they often involve thousands of lines of code. As such, you probably want to hire a pro to create the final product for your storefront. The back office management side of Magento can be confusing and does demand a decent learning curve especially if this is a users first time using a CMS.

### "Though it is too complex for our needs, the more I learn the more useful I realize it can be."

January 26, 2019

3.0

It is a big, clunky, complex tool that takes a lot to learn and even more to remember. However, the more familiar I get with it the more useful it is. I just think it is way more complex than necessary for a small company like ours that sells guided trips.

Pros

Once you figure out how to use different functions in Magento, it is fast and easy to use for most things. I can go in and change dates and click "save," then go to our website and click "refresh" and the change is instant. I do not think this is unique to Magento at all but it is pretty nice! There are so many nuances to it that take time to learn and more time to remember how to do each time, but every time I master a new skill in Magento I definitely feel a feeling of success and I like its capabilities.

Cons

There are parts of Magento that are overly complicated, and the general feeling is that is was created by software developers without the end-user in mind. You almost have to learn a new language as some of the terminology for some of the features and functions are not logical terms used by the average person. You have to switch back and forth between different parts of the software multiple times in order to create one product that is linked to another product. We use it to sell trips that have dates, and the software is more geared toward something like hard goods that have attributes such as size or color. Therefore it is not the best product for the job for us. You have to create a drop-down menu for people to pick dates, but after they pick the date and click on book they have to pick the date again. Not very professional looking.

### "Good for e-commerce websites"

October 3, 2019

5.0

I have used it for years and find that I still have to search for tutorials to get things done.

Pros

Very flexible for e-commerce applications, a lot of developers are familiar with it and this makes it somewhat standardized.

Cons

It can be difficult to get bugs fixed as the version updates seem to be quite infrequent. It can be tricky to use for non-tech savvy users.

### "Best e-commerce CMS I've used and would highly recommend it"

May 15, 2018

5.0

Pros

Straight forward easy to install and configure with a rich and diverse extensions to better improve your websites. It has countless themes and extensions that make your design work to produce the exact client requirements without fail. I love the documentation and online support as you get solutions almost all the time.

Cons

In terms of cost, it's a bit expensive as compared to other CMS platforms, as the best extensions need to be purchased but all this can be billed to the client.

### "Magento Go used to be for small businesses, now only for bigger companies"

March 19, 2018

5.0

Pros

We LOVED Magento when we first started with it. We hired a designer and made a beautiful store. MagentoGo was the perfect solution for a small business. We built a store that looked professional. Many large companies build on Magento because it is open source and you can really customize it. Magento had great customer service but just didn't fit our needs anymore.

Cons

Unfortunately, Magento Go shut down in 2015, and there was no simple solution for our small business. We were left to start from scratch. There is now Magento Open Source that allows for small businesses to use it free, and to offer a lot of what we first fell in love with Magento for. But, there isn't much in the middle. Free or expensive.

### "Easy to Use, Lots of Features"

December 12, 2018

5.0

We had a lot of problems with SEO on the product and category level. This solved that and gave us a lot of other options like abandon cart emails, related products and many other things.

Pros

I like all the extensions magento has to offer. Backend is very easy to use one you figure it all out. I like that it candle a large amount of products and multiple stores. Was able to use it with or without Wordpress which was very beneficial to our business.

Cons

It is hard to set up. It took me lots of trial and error to get everything working. Sometimes things you think would be simple to set up take a long time. But you can run into that with most systems. Takes up a lot of space and needs a dedicated server.

### "Magento has all the bells and whistles, but buckles under pressure"

March 8, 2021

3.0

While Magento provides a great deal of out-of-the-box features for e-commerce, it really does not work well under pressure with default scaling options when it's self-hosted.

Pros

Magento is an easy-to-deploy e-commerce platform written in PHP that has a great deal of plugins and configuration options. It can support many different configurations straight out of the box and boasts a robust plugin development community as well. It can also be used for free unless you want to get support or hosting.

Cons

Magento does not work well under load without a great deal of configuration and infrastructure scaling implementations. A self-hosted single instance would just die at tiny rates lower than 20 requests/sec.

### "The most sophisticated platform to build online stores"

August 22, 2019

5.0

Magento has helped us provide our clients with the best online stores possible. The websites are robust, fast, and safe.

Pros

With magento we are able to build the best performing online stores for our clients. Magento is very robust and can support online stores of huge volumes of traffic or products.

Cons

Magento is quite difficult to set-up. A lot of infrastructure is required even for the simplest online store which makes it suitable only for high-end clients.

### "Good Platform"

February 12, 2019

4.0

Pros

A general good platform, you cant really go wrong with Magento as a choice for web.

Cons

The quality of your produce depends highly on how it is implemented and the team that supports it. Your decisions should be weather to use magento or not, but which magento partner to implement or support your platform...

### "No reviews yet? Ok, let me be first"

September 19, 2015

5.0

I am using magento for over 4 years. I am using magento as a developer and store owner. Let me first describe my developer experience. Magento is big and hard to learn CMS system for building e-commerce stores. However, it is also the most robust one, most adaptable and most extensible platform. It can take some time and money to adopt it for all your needs, but when you reach desired state, it will pay off. You can automate most of tasks and of course synchronize your catalog, orders and clients with your internal CMS system. As a store owner I would like to say, that you need some time to get used to work in magento admin. They are many settings and you need to learn what are they for. But it also offers a lot more advanced functions (payment methods, promotional rules, tax rules, group promotional rules, reviews, etc…) than similar open source software. Try it!

Pros

\- adaptable - a lot of extensions for all your needs - a lot of built in advanced functions

Cons

\- quite hard to learn - needs properly configured server for optimal speed

### "All you need to know about Magento"

October 9, 2019

4.0

If you are running an ecommerce store for a very large catalog of products then you should definitely give it a try.

Pros

1\. It is one of the most widely used ecommerce platforms used to run a fully functional online store to sell products and generate revenue. 2. The fact that internet has hundreds and thousands of extensions which enables store owners to add as many feature as they want in order to make more sales conversions.

Cons

1\. Being one of the most widely used ecommerce platform it also has some limitations considering thw fact that it doesn’t provide complete access to its core files to do some code injection and stuff like that. 2. It required much more time in order to develop a specific extension to introduce a certain business feature like developing custom payment gateway from their api documentation.

### "intuitive, reliable and easy to use although a little expensive."

June 5, 2018

5.0

Pros

Easy to use in the beginning: this application has a friendly way of use, even for those who are not particularly a technological expert, to the point that you can even find solutions outside the box to support yourself and the company. Ability to scale from little to much: you can climb from 5 products to 200,000, in fact it was intended to make that scale process possible. This application is adapted to the user, as it can serve for small companies , as a much larger

Cons

The maintenance costs on the technical side are high although this has to do with a complex system of operation and the high specialization that this entails, taking into account that it takes a considerable amount of time to learn to use it. Hosting: Due to the complexity and scalable design, you pretty much need to host a Magento store on its own dedicated server. This means additional expense to get things started, and an extra online monthly cost to boot.

### "Most used open source ecommerce platform"

August 18, 2018

5.0

Best for customizing the ecommerce store and Scaling up the business.

Pros

1\. As it is an open source platform, we can customize the source code to achieve desired functionality. 2. Software is highly flexible to manage multiple stores at various locations. We can also assign specific languages & currencies according to geographic location and customer ease. It's mobile and search engine friendly as well. 3. Large community of users are available in the platform. So it's easy to get support quickly from users. They have created many extensions and plugins for customizing the tool as well. 4. Magento can handle large no of products. Hence this software is helpful while scaling up the business in the long term.

Cons

1\. Enterprise version is very costly to use. Community version is free though. 2. Importing the data into the site happens at very slow rate due to the flexibility provided to users. So customizing the site according to desired features consumes a lot of time. 3. Hosting can only be done on a dedicated server. Shared hosting will create a slow and frustrating experience to the customers. This is the biggest drawback of the software.

### "Heavy reliance on outside extensions, and lots of security holes"

December 26, 2018

4.0

Pros

A lot of core functionalities are available all in one place, but extensions from outside vendors are needed to support a lot of other necessary features.

Cons

Each extension you add introduces new security and reliability concerns, on top of the security issues that are present in Magento.
