Overall, my experience with Deltek Vantagepoint has been frustrating. The system feels like it was built for accountants and engineers and not for the average employee or manager who needs clear, fast, accessible tools. Even after significant time spent training and configuring, the software remains cumbersome, rigid, and inefficient. It’s not a platform that adapts easily to the way modern teams work. For the price point and learning curve, I expected a much more user-friendly and intuitive solution. Instead, it has become a source of friction rather than an asset.

Pros

The reporting features are robust, and in theory the system has a lot of potential for firms that need detailed project accounting. When everything is configured correctly, it can centralize timesheets, billing, and project financials in one place. The promise of having a unified operational hub is appealing, and some of the dashboards do provide good visibility.

Cons

The platform is overwhelmingly complex and rarely intuitive. Even basic tasks require multiple steps, and the navigation feels dated and disjointed. Customizing reports or workflows often requires an expert or outside consultant, which adds unnecessary cost. The interface is slow, cluttered, and difficult for non-technical users, and onboarding new employees to the system is consistently time-consuming. Instead of streamlining processes, it often creates additional work just to maintain accuracy and keep things functioning.

I'm happy to have a program that can contain all our marketing data in (mostly) one place, making it easier to look for things. However, I believe there is still a lot of room for improvement.

Pros

It is my one-stop-shop for pretty much all project data for marketing. It's well organized throughout the various tabs and hubs, and contains a good portion of what I need. Although I'm not involved with its customization, I do understand it to be customizeable, though I can't speak to how easy it is to do so.

Cons

The resume and proposal building feature is not great. Coming from Unanet CRM, I was not impressed by how marketing content is created in Deltek. I also don't like the reporting--it's very clunky and difficult to do, not intuitive at all. I wish it was better integrated with our time tracking software, because it would be nice to see schedules and hours spent directly in Deltek, rather than constantly having to open the other program.

overall, it was not a software i'd recommend. it was not userfriendly, hard to integrate with a CRM and overall hard to manage.

It integrated project management with payroll but it wasn't user friendly

it wasn't very user friendly and it required a team of consultants to customize it. it felt very dated.

I've always used Deltek products for timesheet input, so no basis for comparing to other software alternatives.

Pros

The software is easy to use. Learning curve was short to get started, and does not seem to have many if any major issues.

Cons

The look and feel is a bit difficult to get used to. Timesheets do not fit in one window, having to scroll side to side to see all columns.

I am not satisfied with the upgrade from Vison. There appear to be many bugs and workflow adjustments that did not consider the end user during development.

Pros

The ability to send hyperlinks of particular records to colleagues is easier than having them search.

Cons

The overall interface is difficult to navigate as the fields tend to blur together and nothing really stands out. Additionally, the auto-save 'feature' actually increased the amount of clicks necessary to complete my everyday workflows.
