Previously, we used Mailchimp for email campaigns, Events for event booking and guided tours and separate fundraising platforms. All of that is now condensed into one entity making life so much easier and in the process, the amount of money saved in fees each year is enough to pay the feed bill for entire month! Oh! Did I mention it is absolutely free to use? Pros Zeffy is constantly improving, updating and enhancing the tools and the support team actually listens to requests and implements new features all the time. There has never been an issue with the finance aspect and The Llama Sanctuary can count on receiving a payout, on the dot, every week. Cons At the moment, Zeffy lacks some of the refinements and tools that bespoke email platforms, event organisers and online stores can offer. The email creation element is still a bit crude and clunky and site navigation can be counter-intuitive (to me at least). November 12, 2025 4.0 I’ve had a great experience switching to Zeffy and look forward to seeing what cool, free features they add next! Pros The fact that this product is free to use is incredible. Being able to process payments online so seamlessly without being charged an arm and a leg (in fact without being charged a cent!) is a fundraising game changer for small non-profits like ours! The interface is very user friendly, intuitive even, and extracting data from campaigns is quick and easy. With their new POS app that can be downloaded onto any phone, they’ve saved us the need to purchase a square reader: staff and volunteers can just download the app and begin scanning tickets or taking donations! Cons The product is still new so it doesn’t have quite as many features as other similar products. However, they are highly responsive to customer feedback and constantly adding new features to meet the evolving needs of the non-profit community. September 17, 2025 5.0 Zeffy has allowed me to free up cognitive bandwidth by automating things like tax receipts, donation deposits, closing sales and scheduling other features. Those little things matter! I love the CRM-like features that assist with communications. I love that I can do so much in one place, within one system. I would pay for a for-profit version of this same system, and I'm actively seeking a close alternative for for-profits. Pros Everything in one place: donor information, financial information, fundraising & email campaign management. I love that Zeffy automatically transfers deposits to the bank, and I can set it to automatically send Tax receipts. The CRM -like features make it easy to segment audiences for communications, and makes smart recommendations. I love that I was given an unsolicited website overview for how to maximize Zeffy's platform. That's initiative! All this and the help center is good too! Easy to use & Free! Cons Sometimes I wish there was a little bit more design/editing access for campaign tools, but this is minor. Mostly, I love this platform! Their customer support team is extremely responsive and helpful, and overall I can't recommend Zeffy enough. Pros I like that it makes it possible for 100% of donations to go directly to the intended cause rather than to payment processors. I also like the variety of options, tools & webinars offered by Zeffy to help nonprofits optimize their fundraising efforts. The forms are also generally a lot better looking that alternative platforms. Cons I don't like that I can't limit access to forms by teams (so that 1 department can't access another department's forms). I also wish I could set up email confirmations at either the organizational level or at the team level so that emails are no longer managed at the individual form level. I don't like how hard it is to see how much donors are also giving to Zeffy or that it's not easy to refund the portion of a donation that goes to Zeffy. I also don't like that administrators don't get refund transaction email confirmations. August 18, 2025 5.0 Fast, User Friendly, Up To Date Technology! From setting up the account to getting my 1st deposit, everything was SEEMLESS! Pros Ease of use, affordability being that we are a non-profit. I also like that I could personalize my look and feel to my audience! Cons None that I can think of! But if I had to say something maybe the amount of days it takes to get money, But it's not Horrible! September 10, 2025 5.0 Positive, fulfilling, no worries, I know they have my back. Very responsive, almost in real time, which is unheard of these days. Pros Zeffy has a lot going for it. The platform is robust, easy to navigate, and full of excellent features. New donations/sales are reported as they occur, a summary of new transactions is provided weekly along with all transactions to date, and a deposit notice is also provided weekly. Communications are terrific, with a live human response usually within an hour or two. And any suggestions I have made to improve the experience have been accepted quickly and sent to the creative department. Cons I can't think of anything, which even amazes me. It's a relief to be out from under the clunky and exorbitantly priced Eventbrite. Pros It's very simple to use, the interface is elegant, and the export options are excellent. With no fees it's also incredibly cost-effective at a time when every dollar counts. And we love that it's Canadian. Cons The automatic addition of a Zeffy donation is something it feels necessary to warn buyers about, but we haven't had any complaints. And the character cap on titles is a bit of a challenge for getting all the pertinent info in the bold type. The app notifies all winners and simplifies things when you need it the most! Cons Setting up the emails can be a real grudge when using your cell phone when you need it the most. Pros No credit card processing fees! So, FREE! Good training for initial setup, and more advanced training as we get experience. Cons There's not much bad to report. When I try to do an email campaign I still don't know how to get all of our donors on it, especially the ones that didn't come through Zeffy. Also since we only have one event a year, the card processing on my phone had to be relearned. It's scrappy, efficient, yet still looks pretty (enough) for newsletters and donation pages. The "thank you" personalization is a nice touch. Also love the "make this donation in honor of" feature. Maybe make that a bit more prominent? Pros It's truly free. That is rare since there always seem to be hidden costs. Other platforms like Give Butter deduct Stripe transaction fees or allow the donor to cover those. Zeffy covers them for nonprofits and gives donors an option to support Zeffy, but they aren't forced to and no one loses. Nonprofits get the full donation amount, no strings attached. Cons The email distro template could be improved. The donate button colors are always off in preview and test emails. Also, there's no way to hyperlink photos, only text-based links are allowed. My board is really pleased with the auto-renewal functionality, and with how seamless it has been. Pros You can't beat their business model - allowing donors to tip (or not) has helped our organization tremendously. Saving 3%+ in PayPal, Stripe, and Venmo fees adds up. The forms are simple to set-up, the connection with our bank was flawless, payouts happen weekly without any issue, and I can easily integrate the payment forms into our Squarespace-based website. We are going to start using Zeffy for events and I'm excited and hopeful that our volunteers will have an easy seamless experience. As for connectivity, we can easily export transactions into our Quickbooks platform, but given how payouts happen as lump-sums, it was a little tedious for our treasurer to have to manually split the payout transaction, so he's entering things manually. The export function works just fine to import data into our donations database (Monday.com). Cons The Zapier integration to link to Monday hasn't been successful yet- but we are going to work on it. Our Monday.com database has donor names as one field, I wish Zeffy had a way to do that automatically (combine Fname+space+Lname). I had to use Excel as an intermediate step. The few times I did need help I was able to get that from the help center and even then someone from Zeffy followed up with an email to make sure I got everything I needed. I also really like the tax exempt forms which are automatically created when our supporters donate. Pros Zeffy is free, so that is the first thing. The platform is very user-friendly and anything I did not understand I could get guidance from the help or online chat. I also really like the ability to accept electronic payments with ease, the ease of creating campaigns and it really provides a very professional look for our organization. Cons I can't think of anything that I currently do not like. Zeffy has given us the opportunity to have 100% of our donations go directly to us and the customer has the choice to provide a "tip", which is how Zeffy makes a profit. It is a "win, win". The last donor database product we had (AND paid for!) was difficult and frustrating to use. This is customer friendly, even for those who aren't familiar with these kinds of products. 2. It's free! 3. I believe the support is AI driven. Every time I have needed support, I had to believe I was "speaking" with a live human. It's that good. I always get the support I need in a timely fashion. That is SO important. Cons It's not that flexible. For example, I needed to reorder my contacts alphabetically and I was unable to do so. Pros Our organization recently switched to Zeffy as our donor platform. It was easier to use than our old platform and offered better reports. It's fun and easy to create events and to track ticket sales. I wouldn't go back, I absolutely love Zeffy! Cons Sometimes donors don't know they can change the donation amount to Zeffy. Made tracking my event sales so much easier. Pros Zeffy was very easy to install and very user friendly. I watched the tutorials and created my event and ticket info in minutes. Staff were very helpful when I needed some additional info and they responded quickly. Cons I like the program Zeffy and how it works. I don't like receiving daily emails from Zeffy particularly when I am not doing a fundraiser at the moment. Cons I haven't encountered any cons yet. But if I have any issues, I know Zeffy is there for support. It has been an easy and pleasant experience so far.
