The learning curve was made simple with all of the YouTube videos they have. Pros The transition to traction from more traditional software was smooth. The team at traction helped me out with any questions I had. It generates clean reports for my banker. The Accountant I use was able to navigate the software with ease. I just entered his name and email and gave him permission to access traction. One of the key reasons I switched to Traction was, the fact that I can track profitability down to the field or even acre. There's no need to have separate spreadsheets. Cons I truthfully don't have anything to complain about. The traction team is continuously improving their already great software! It has so many features that helps us do our job well. I’m going in my 6th year and things only get better. My accounting is accessible and I understand it. Pros The company continues to listen and add things that are important to us farmers, like the new addition of the loan reports and monthly cash flow reports - pulling from the loan and expense categories I also like the advance tracking/inventory report for our commodities; from the start of planting with records on the field, to filling each bin, to where it was sold, giving me what’s left, in time for the next sell signal. The inventory report saves me grief when someone’s asks, where are we are at. I can’t stress enough how this improves my relationship with my family, my FBM and my bankers. Communication and the online Knowledge Center with Traction has been top-notch and fast. Cons I honestly can’t find a warranted criticism right now. Any frustration has been answered and it was my misunderstanding. Traction business has great tech support. I really enjoy the Plaid connection with my bank. My accountant found Traction Business very useful for the schedule F preparation. Pros it is a good record keeping product. I like Traction Business - it is has the Plaid connection to my bank - which makes checking transactions and reconcilation easy. I also like the integration with my Growmark account. Traction Business is a very useful product for the farm accounting, record keeping and bill paying. Cons I don't have any complaints. This kind of high level accounting and record keeping does take a time commitment. They are very open to changes that I have suggested and have tried to implement them rather quickly. Pros I like that you can access multiple entities with one log in and that you can access it and get up to date information from anywhere. Also being able to scan in and store copies of anything you want to attach to a transaction for future reference is great and saves on filing storage. Cons There are some reports that do need a little more work on what information they compile when there are multiple entities but the information does not always need to be added together. Although it’s not a limitation of the system, we haven’t yet explored other features like field operations and inventory management. The system offers a lot of functionality, so it really depends on your specific needs. I highly recommend it to others! Pros I love how Traction Ag is accessible online, allowing me to use it anywhere, anytime. It’s incredibly simple and straightforward for handling accounting tasks and keeping the books organized. I also appreciate the ease of managing multiple entities, as I can quickly choose the specific information I need on a report. When reconciling my ledger, I can synchronize all my systems with the bank with a single click, or select which ones to update individually. It's intuitive, efficient, and easy to work with. Cons It does take some time setting up each entity and the chart of accounts for each, but the same could be said with probably any accounting program. Their support team has been great getting my questions answered. In addition, their customer service is excellent. Any issues or questions are always responded to in a very timely manner and their team is so pleasant to talk to. Pros I really like how Traction provides the tools necessary to capture field profitability. I can also easily look at my income and expense, and after reconciling my accounts from month to month, I am able to see my income expenses, catagorized into agriculture specific catagories. Cons The only issue I have with traction is finding the time to import all of my field records into the basic operations. I had heard of different accounting systems, some of which are not well adapted to farming. Traction appealed because it was built for farming. So far, it has not disappointed! Pros Traction works at my own very small (<500 acres) scale. It allows me to make good decisions throughout the year. I also work in Ag Lending, and I wish that all borrowers could provide detailed reports like Traction generates. The opportunity to trial the software was beneficial - I was more confident making a selection. Cons No cons to mention, but I would point out that my small operation does not use all of the capabilities of Traction. Pros I can see field by field profit and write a check with just a few clicks. Cons Adding field records would be better if I could apply to multiple fields at the same time but input a specific amount of acres for each field that was partially covered.
