Great experience and would recommend to everyone

Pros

Ease of deployment, you need to deploy on one domain controller and from there datto provides a AD GPO deployment component and it auto deploys. Ease of mass application deployment, as long an application can be scripted out we can attach setup run script on device to deploy applications. Easy patch management and targeting flexible due to UDF fields provided by datto

Cons

The NEW UI is not as user friendly as old one

My overall experience with Datto RMM has been really positive. It’s straightforward to manage access with different user levels, and it integrates smoothly with other Kaseya products, especially Autotask for creating tickets directly from alerts. Device patching has been reliable and easy to automate, and the platform generally feels stable, organised, and efficient for day-to-day MSP work.

Pros

I really like how Datto RMM streamlines remote work, especially with the web remote feature that connects quickly and reliably. The password injection through IT Glue is a huge bonus because it removes the hassle of credential hunting and keeps everything secure and efficient. Overall, the platform feels solid, responsive, and easy to manage day-to-day. It delivers good value, makes support tasks smoother, and generally improves how we handle monitoring and remote troubleshooting. Excellent customer support and quick turn around times for tickets created via Kaseya helpdesk

Cons

What I like least is that the network discovery tool occasionally doesn’t pick up hostnames, which means a bit of manual checking. At times, policy updates take a little longer than expected. These aren’t serious issues, but small areas where smoother consistency would make the experience even better.

### "Good MDM that could use just a bit more polish."

Overall, this is a decent RMM. The agents work well and don't need constant babysitting. There is a wide array of options for how you install the agent. You can get a wide array of information on managed devices and build alerts and automations on them. There are a few downsides. Their catalogue of automations is incredibly small compared to most other RMMs. Setting up alerting and automations can be a little obtuse, but that's really common amongst MDMs. The biggest weakness is likely their remote access system. It is really glitchy and has issues in numerous situations - these same situations I can use our other MDM's remote access system with no issues whatsoever.

Pros

Comprehensive management, logging, and automation for enterprise device management.

Cons

If you have a very large tenancy, there aren't many options for narrowing down or excluding organizations and devices that you don't deal with, which is a pretty big problem for large MSPs.

Overall, Datto RMM is a great, well-rounded RMM tool! Patching is more stable, reporting is better out of the box, and the configurable dashboards and alerting make it do what an RMM is best at!

Pros

Datto RMM is a great platform for managing endpoints! We have administered thousands of endpoints with ease. Creating and adding your own scripts on the platform is simple, and reduces a lot of manual overhead. We've been able to deliver a higher level of customer service with the integrations built into the web remote tool as well. The dashboards are configurable, which is a plus. I love the fact that it's not just user machines and servers, but even network equipment can be managed! It's an easy way to managed all of your assets in one place.

Cons

Datto RMM has some latency issues still with the Web Remote feature. The agent browser is wonderful, but it currently only supports Windows devices.

Overall a positive experience, over the years we used Datto RMM however lots of issues building up over the last couple of years that werent being fixed.

Pros

Datto RMM has compatibility with a range of operating systems. It has a great pre-built script library. Its one of the few that supports script automation and monitoring that works well on Mac, Windows and Linux.

Cons

The support has steadily dropped in quality and response times over the past year. There were quite a few instances where jobs took a long time before actually started running on the device.

Pros

It's very useful as it has very good remote access related features and it's very easy to handle and use.

Cons

There was nothing much to not like in Datto but yeah, its remote session works slow on some regions.

From a useability and features perspective, excellent. The pricing for the tool is also very reasonable. Deployment is made easy via its powershell deployment script, and the functionality of using remote support via web browser is great.

Pros

Datto RMM provides a robust set of RMM features, excellent dashboards with integration into Datto BCDR and AutoTask - when using multiple services with Kaseya, the product really shines. It is also easy to setup and get going.

Cons

Lack of third party patch reporting is a major drawback for our organization. We're required to report third party patch reports and have to use another tool to accomplish this.

Datto RMM's mobile device management system seamlessly supports our macOS environment, providing reliable and professional assistance. Cons

There is no significant downsides to using Datto RMM. Occasionally, we experience minor delays in support response times during peak periods, but overall, their service remains reliable and effective.

Some features could be better designed and displayed in a more consolidated manner. For example, license management when managing multiple products via Datto RMM.

I have used Ninja, both flavors of ConnectWise RMM and Datto RMM and i like how much easier it is to navigate. The built in automation ia great.

Pros

The customer support is amazing and the platform is laid out very nicely. I like the integration with splashtop.

Cons

The granularity of admin roles isnt clear and the bcdr access from that site isnt nesicarry to see if you dont pay for that service.

Once fully customised, Datto intergratded with our network and allowed automation of many manual tasks. In the long run the time spent to customise paid off.

Pros

Datto RMM has so many features and options to customise and is a very powerful tool. It has the ability to be a all in one tool and intergrate everything.

Cons

The cost of Datto is high. There is so much customisation available that you really need a dedicated internal team to manage it.

Overall it has been very good, very simple, and outside the couple times we've had issues it's been very consistent, and just worked for our needs very well.

Pros

Simple and easy to use. For a small shop we don't have time to spend keeping our tools working, we need them to just work for us, and this does that.

Cons

There have been a couple times where there are issues with connection to endpoints, but due to clients location I can't be 100% sure it's on Datto, but it has seemed to be a 1 or 2 times over the last few years

We used and IT service to help deploy this software on the machines at our company. Once deployed, my experience has been logging in to respond to IT tickets using this RMM instead of previous solutions we used to do.

Pros

I like the ease with which this tool allows us to remotely access users machines. Before we were using remote desktop to respond to IT tickets, but this solution is way smoother.

Cons

I dont have any comments with regard to what I liked the least. So far everything has been smooth and easy with this software.

Horrible, six months in and still struggling with every aspect of the product.

Pros

Single pane of glass/login for all stack portals.

Cons

Nothing works on the new platform. Screen Connect no matter which one you choose to use is inconsistent. Portals don't load, constantly need to refresh to get tools to work, Backups don't work on most PC's and Servers, backup software breaks SQL backups, etc., etc., etc.

The bottom line is that you are paying for a premium solution and getting one that is lacking in many ways. Don’t waste your time or money on Datto RMM. There are too many other RMM’s out there that cost much less and work much better than this one. Hope this helps anyone considering adding Datto RMM to their tool kit.

Pros

User interface is nice. Menu is easy to navigate.

Cons

Community ComStore and knowledge base are worthless. Patching and endpoint auditing are inconsistent at best. You will have to write your own scripts for everything. Including installing network printers. That right. They don’t have a built-in script to deploy printers. Support is Ok if you get the right person. About 80% of the time, they will blame something other than their solution and close the ticket. You will pay for onboarding which is little more than someone walking you through a canned deployment that they feed everyone. Nothing will be aimed at making the solution work for your environment. Built in web remote tool is terrible. You will need to use Splashtop if you can get it to work consistently. Built in agent browser won’t give you all Windows event logs. The file browser doesn’t tell you the date modified or size of folders. No WMI queries to show you what printers or other devices are installed or connected to the endpoint.

Happy with the product and support received. Do note its a US based company, you may have a support time zone issue.

Pros

Love the integration with other Kesaya products and services. The product is highly customizable and is constantly being developed.

Cons

The only con is the licence model. They force you to take 1, 3 or 5 year terms. This is ok for established MSP's. If you add on services, say AV, you must sign up to at least a year with a specific amount of licences. If you reduce your clients, you still locked into the contract. consumption model would be favourable.

Better than other products we reviewed and has worked well for us.

Pros

Good integration into Autotask, New interface allows customising what you need to see first.

Cons

Overlaps with some of the M365 defender suite for software management now and needs more investment now if it's not going to get left behind in this area. SSL checking is missing which is a pain to manage (well, manually done) and limited info via SNMP for network devices, would be good to have some pre-configured components to retrieve status / configurations

The modern interface, the value obtained for the cost, the capabilities and the features. These have allowed us to migrate from Kaseya and PRTG, reducing costs and streamlining our operations.

Cons

Not a daily user of the product, but the only thing that comes to mind is how long some of the features are taking to fully migrate to the new UX.
