Although I hit a bit of a learning curve regarding when to use the advanced anti-bot features versus standard requests, the technical performance of the tool is undeniable. It handled a large-scale project (170k+ items) without breaking a sweat. I’d recommend it to anyone doing high-volume scraping, just be sure to test your target site without ASP first to save on costs! Pros The scalability and reliability are top-notch. I used Scrapfly to scrape over 170k items from eBay Australia, and once the configuration was set, the process was incredibly smooth. The API handles the heavy lifting of proxy rotation and headless browsing very well, allowing me to focus on the data rather than the infrastructure. Cons The pricing transparency regarding specialized features could be clearer. I initially struggled with the Anti-Bot ASP (Anti-Scraping Protection) setting. I found that enabling it wasn't necessary for my specific use case, but it costs 25x more in terms of API credits. It took some expensive trial and error to realize that standard settings worked just fine for my target site. The residential proxy pool and session support made a significant difference when dealing with aggressive bot protection systems like DataDome. The Python SDK is clean and well-structured, and resilient\_scrape() with automatic retries is a standout feature that kept long-running jobs alive through intermittent failures. Cons The biggest frustration is the ERR::ASP::SHIELD\_PROTECTION\_FAILED error. When it happens, the error message just says "retry in a few seconds" and links to a documentation page — but neither tells you whether the issue is with your configuration or whether Scrapfly's bypass engine is temporarily struggling with that site. In our experience, the error resolved on its own without any changes on our end, which suggests it was a Scrapfly-side issue — but we had no way of knowing that from the error message alone. Clearer error messages that distinguish between user config problems and platform-level bypass failures would save a lot of debugging time. Pros It's complete. I tried it with the free credits, maxed out quickly, realised it would take me ages to do better than Scrapfly by my own, and decided to pay for their monthly plan and everything works like a charm so far. Cons I don't know, so far I have not really noticed anything I don't like or anything that was missing for me, but I guess I'm a entry level user, so we'll see in the future. Pros Scrapfly is a super mature and feature-rich web scraping solution for our agents that I enjoy a lot. It's efficient, has a ton of scraping possibilities and excellent dashboards to track spend. It looks like they have a number of other interesting neighboring products as well that I plan to explore. Cons Personally it would be great if the concurrency limits for the discovery plan we are bit higher. Also the jump from discovery plan to pro plan is a bit steep. Cons Perhaps if the Javascript could be sent via POST rather than GET it could alleviate the issue of the maximum length of a Url in HTTP. The main friction is cost unpredictability on ASP-heavy jobs and limited guidance on optimizing credit usage. Worth it for production scraping needs, but budget carefully. Pros Scrapfly handled JavaScript-rendered pages and anti-bot protections on Polish retail sites that were otherwise impossible to scrape reliably. The asp=True flag alone saved enormous amounts of time vs. managing rotating proxies manually. The Python SDK is clean, the request/response model is straightforward, and the dashboard showing credit usage per request helped track costs by site. Screenshot capture for debugging failed scrapes was genuinely useful. Cons Credit pricing is opaque — ASP mode costs 10-25x a basic request, so a scraping job that looks cheap can burn through credits fast. The documentation for fine-tuning ASP vs. non-ASP decisions by site is thin, so there's trial and error involved. Error messages when scrapes fail mid-session could be more descriptive (distinguishing bot detection vs. network timeout vs. site structure change). Free tier is very limited for serious testing.
