Overall my experience with Quickbooks Desktop has been very positive, making it very easy to maintain day to day activity.

Pros

The thing I liked most about Quickbooks Desktop was how easy to use it was and how beginner friendly it was. The system makes it easy to complete year end reporting and day to day activities.

Cons

The only issue i had with Quickbooks desktop is the lack of customisation that was available. I would like for further report customisation.

Overall, my experience with QuickBooks Desktop has been positive. It is a dependable and well-established accounting system that provides strong tools for managing finances, reporting, and day-to-day bookkeeping. While the interface feels a bit dated and some workflows could be more streamlined, it remains a reliable solution that gets the job done efficiently and consistently.

Pros

What I liked most about QuickBooks Desktop is its reliability and depth of accounting features. It handles everything from invoicing and expense tracking to payroll and reporting in a very structured and organized way. I also appreciate that it works well even without constant internet access, and the reporting tools are detailed and easy to customize, which makes financial management much more efficient.

Cons

What I liked least about QuickBooks Desktop is that it can feel a bit less modern compared to newer cloud-based systems. Some processes require a few extra steps, which can slow things down slightly, and collaboration features are more limited without additional setup. That said, it still performs reliably overall..

Overall my experience is great. The memorized transactions for invoicing save us a lot of time. Payroll is quick and easy. I do my own forms (941, etc) but you can pay to have that done if you want. It syncs with our credit card so I do not have to enter transactions. Really good experience.

Pros

I like the simplicity and consistency. I have been using QuickBooks since 1999 when I worked at an accounting firm. When we opened our own company in 2002, we went with QuickBooks to manage the books and run payroll.

Cons

When a problem happens, it is very hard to get real support. I can solve most of the problems (thankfully) because working at an accounting firm and now in IT I have the experience. But if I have to call support, I have to be prepared to receive very little "real" help. I just hope to get lucky and fix it while they are helping.

Overall it is the best functional option for the group of businesses we run; however, we just keep looking for an alternative due to them pricing us out of the ability to use it.

Pros

When it comes to the construction industry, Quickbooks has all the functionality you need to track and report seperate projects. Compared to the Online version, Desktop has far superior report options with ways to generate the exact data you need.

Cons

ITS CRAZY EXPENSIVE! Each year the "subscription" price goes up like $400 and at over $1700 per year for 2026, it feels like they don't care at all for the small businesses who have used them for twenty years.

It’s more suitable for small or medium businesses, that doesn’t need complicated or personalized features. But for small businesses it’s perfect.

Easy to use. After changing from a different software, I was easily able to use quickbook without any issues. I didn’t need support or any instruction. It was really easy to just start using it.

That its not accessible in any other device. It is only accessible from the desktop you installed it on

The Desktop version has a multitude of features. Small to medium size businesses can be their own bookkeeper.
