HR Manager Airlines/Aviation Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Good and bad points" September 29, 2025 3.0 It is fine to use on a day to day basis in a SME, it has some easy to use aspects but overall I think it lacks the ability to be an effective HR tool Pros Easy to use in terms of managing people - creating new starters, making them leavers, the planner tab is easy for employees to use themselves to book holiday. Cons Some aspects are very inflexible (e.g. Bradford factor score is not on a rolling 12 month, just calendar year, absence reporting process is one way only). The reporting is very basic, the date formats don't register in Excel so there is a lot of manual manipulation. This was the case when I used it at another company in 2018 so I don't expect it to change. Also simple things like the screen of employees just won't load, the only answer they give is to keep zooming out, which sometimes work but sometimes doesn't. Cons I have experience using BambooHR, which stands out in comparison due to its stronger reporting capabilities, wider range of features, and better integrations. Access PeopleHR feels more limited in these areas. We also experienced an issue where nearly all employees could view each other’s contracts and personal information, although this may have been due to a configuration or setup issue on our side. Booking my holidays from work has never been as easy as it is with PeopleHR. Pros PeopleHR give me easy access to all of my HR information and is very easy for me to manage my annual leave entitlement. Cons Some features could be more customisable to fit our specific processes, and certain reports require extra steps to extract in the desired format. You can easily personalise your page to add more widgets or delete them in order to make the most out of the program. Pros Easy to manage on everything HR related. With the ability to book holidays at ease and see if anyone else has booked an annual leave at the same time you're looking to get the leave too. You can give thanks to other team members for their hard work and is able to see this on a company wide scale - creating for a very rewarding atmosphere within the program. Cons Raising expenses at the beginning was difficult and needed a lot of guidance from managers in order to fill this up. Once I have learnt how to do so - it is very straight forward. Good for payslips and docs, bad for holiday. There are a lot of features that I don't use. The interface feels very dated and clunky. Pros I can access my payslips and important documents relatively easily. It is always available and haven't experienced any downtime. Cons I mainly use this for booking holiday, and also seeing when my team are on holiday. From a team visibility point of view, it is a poor experience. I cannot at a glance see when my team is on holiday, so we have to reply on manually entering our annual leave into an outlook calendar, rather than having an all up view on people HR. Pros Easy to use once you learn how to use it for back office processes and procedures which means i can streamline my processes within. Cons Learning curve to get familiar was steep for myself whom isn't really using the front end only the back end. It’s great that I can review what comments I made last year for example and compare them to the write up for this year all in the same place which saves a lot of time. Pros It’s easy to use and accessible. I recently used it to complete my end of year review and I found that it allowed me to input information in a timely manner and it was easy to review. Cons Sometimes it toggles between the updated and old interface which can be confusing but it’s easy enough to adjust. Have you tried using the org chart, its laughable how bad it is. Pros Nothing - its awful compared to Workday and other platforms i have used in previous companies. Seriously i cannot think of a good thing Cons menus are rubbish, icons are small and hard to find. Ripples are confusing, what even is a ripple?? why cant i go into the ripple more easily to update it? Videos are rubbish, i spent hours before i joined trying to fil it out. Pros Fairly easy to use and monitor holiday balances. Easy to add and amend any necessary personal data required. Cons cannot amend days in the past. I recently took a week of unpaid parental leave but this has been booked as annual leave in error, I cannot amend/delete without forwarding to someone with more authority. If we have new team members it would be handy for a prerecorded session they can look at to look at the platform. Pros The usability of the platform, compared to our last application this is a lot more user friendly where you can use multiple functions at once.
