Wide variety of restaurants to choose from. App is easy to use. Cons I can’t tell you how many times my order has been delivered to the wrong house. I even put the instructions to my home in the order. My address is plainly on my mailbox which is on the street and unobstructed. I even had a delivery man come to my home with my neighbors order and show me the address on his iPhone. Owner Restaurants Used the software for: 2+ years ### "GrubHub's Technology Lags That of Other Ordering and Delivery Services for Restaurant Owners" July 16, 2023 3.0 Of the ordering and delivery services we tried (GrubHub, UberEATS, DoorDash and Postmates) GrubHub cost us more per dollar of business that it generated, its system worked less well than the other ones (and wasted more of our time due to its sluggish app/tablet), and generated less revenue for us. We kept it because it delivered a small number of orders, and we didn't want to lose those. Pros They were useful in that some customers want to order via GrubHub - perhaps because they have seen GrubHub's TV commercials, for example - and if you want to get these customers' orders, you have to sign up for GrubHub and have its tablet booted and sitting on your counter for the orders to come in. Cons GrubHub generated far less business than DoorDash and UberEATS. However, that might reflect regional preferences (we are in Washington state). Orders did pick up on GrubHub when it launched its partnership with Amazon.GrubHub charges a percentage that was higher than the other ordering/delivery platforms. Also, when we started working with them, GrubHub charged an additional credit card processing fee above and beyond what it charges for ordering and delivery. So, you are told you will be charged, say, 30%, but then you find yourself paying an additional 3% for credit card processing. This compared to 28% and \*no\* credit card processing fee with DoorDash.GrubHub's system works less well than the other ordering and delivery platforms. Their app is slow to respond to commands, which becomes a big disadvantage when working at the counter of a busy restaurant - you need those fractional bits of time to attend to other priorities.GrubHub seemed to ignore the time we told their app that we could have an order ready to be picked up. We tell them it'll take a half hour, but the driver arrives in 10 minutes. This makes for a frustrated driver and it is unpleasant to tell them we don't have the order they are seeking. Reason for choosing GrubHub We already had UberEATS. Customers were talking about all the other online ordering and delivery systems. It seemed like they talked most about GrubHub, so we chose them as the second vendor to work with. It was a bad decision - we should have gone with DoorDash. These options are highly convenient because we aren't always able leave the office. Sometimes it's a small order, sometimes it's a big order, but nonetheless it's highly useful and efficient. There are so many businesses that use this and it makes for great ordering decisions. We have been using this service for a while now, and it will be used in the future. They are always adding different businesses for us to choose from. Cons Sometimes a company that we like to order from no longer chooses to be part of the GrubHub. We haven't had to reach out to customer service much, but the one time we did there was a long wait and we were transferred from person to person and it took a very long time to get to the correct person. It's easy to use and we have had good service. We occasionally have problems with our order, but very rarely. While I don't love paying the delivery fees I find that usually I am actually saving money by being more productive and not wasting my time in lines and in the car trying to pick up our food. Pros I love how many options are available on GrubHub....especially in larger cities. I can easily order my lunch or send the menu to coworkers or clients to choose their meal options before I place an order. The site is easy to navigate and I can place an order...even complicated orders in less than 10 minutes. As a person with Celiac...I like that I can look up restaurants by "gluten free" options. Cons I wish all the restaurants that have gluten free options, would list them as many times I have to call in to make adjustments to my meal order which is a pain. While GrubHub has decent prices compared to all the other food deliver services...the fees do deter me from using the service as often as we would like to at our office. Review Source CP Christina P. All you need to do is write online support and they will make it Right for you. Pros GrubHub is one of the best ideas that software companies have come up with. People are able to order at so many places using this software. Weather you need prescriptions picked up at Walgreen's or you need service at a food store. You just type o it in the search area and all the businesses relation to what you're in need of Will pop up. Its very easy to use. If at any point you in fact find you do need help they have that feature as well, live support. I recommend this to everyone. Saving money is a big deal to me, and when ordering via apps, I definitely choose the one with coupons over one that doesn't have one available. Pros GrubHub is easy to access, easy to use, and makes the stress of acquiring a meal when you're hungry very minimal. They keep you updated on when your order is ready, and are effective at keeping to their delivery times. Cons I haven't experienced any challenges with this software. Review Source James P. I work a ton and its nice to get some food delivered so I don't have to waste time or gas getting out there. Free delivery with GH+ is a huge bonus. Pros I like most about GH is their service. GH+ is a fair price, food doesn't cost too much over normal price like uber eats, and the food is almost always on time. Cons GH+ stores of a franchise don't auto populate if they aren't the closest one to you. If delivery is not chosen, you have the option to pick up at a certain time and this is very time efficient, it saves you a lot of time. The delivery drivers are very efficient and if there are any issues, costumer services is always there to assist. Overall, this is an extremely sophisticated software to order food online. Pros From my personal experience with this online ordering software, I find it to be very efficient and convenient when it comes to finding the best places to eat near your location. One of my favorite features is that you have the option to either have your food delivered to your location or pick it up at the restaurant at a certain time. This features allows me to choose the most convenient time to pick up the food. Moreover, you have the option to preorder as well for the next day and this is very convenient when you have events at home with guests . One of my most used features is the "start group order" and it allows you to invite your friends to order together. This is a very unique features that most online ordering softwares have not implemented yet and it is indeed a very important one. This software is definitely my go to application when ordering online. Cons I have had a couple of issues with the software, however, the costumer service is very fast and efficient and always find a solution to the issue at hand. Maybe, one of the features that could be implemented is the tracking your order features with the pick up and drop off process to facilitate the experience. Cons There are a lot of parts of the apps that I think that need improvement. I think the modifications portion of the app is very important. I think the menu portion from each restaurant or facility needs to be updated very frequently. The ability to make changes or substitutions and things like that are not user-friendly. Or they’re not even available. I alternate between using these 3 apps in particular quite regularly. Pros GrubHub's mobile app is intuitive and easy to navigate, their customer service is top notch, and on a more granular level, the ability to search past orders differentiates GrubHub from its competitors. They are also incredibly communicative if an order you've placed requires cancellation, as they send out a text, email, and even call you to notify you. Their additional fees tend to be less than services like Postmates or DoorDash as well. Cons GrubHub does seem to have a noticeably limited selection of restaurants compared to DoorDash or Postmates. This setback in and of itself may lead me to seek out an alternative food delivery app, considering the majority of its features are comparable, if not identical, to its competitors. I love using the app whenever I would like food delivered to my door. There’s always so many different types of restaurants to choose from, and my food is always delivered to me very fast and efficient. Pros GrubHub is an excellent online food ordering app. It helps save people time who have busy schedules, and it makes it really convenient for people who would prefer to have food delivered right to their door. I also love that there is a numerous amount of restaurants and food options to choose from. The customer service is always phenomenal, and I haven’t had any problems with this app. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Cons The only thing I can think of is that sometimes it can be a little expensive, but I believe that depends on how much food you are ordering, and how high the demand is. You get much better deal than if you order from restaurants directly. You can also browse an find new places you never heard about before. Pros Started using them more during the Pandemic. Selection is great. You can easily find a place you know, as well as browse through selections. Once you become a user you will receive the promotions quiet often. $5 off, 7$off, etc. You can choose delivery or pickup. Cons I never encountered any issues. I heard someone complaint they do not recieve promotions, but as I mentioned, you only receive them if you order t least once a while. I have used it a few times since then, paying everything myself. That should tell you a lot, because as I said earlier, I'm very cheap. I don't normally spend money on something like delivery fees when I can do it myself. But sometimes you just need the convenience of delivery and GrubHub does a great job. Pros I had surgery in August 2020 and was unable to make dinner or have much use of my arms. A friend of my started a meal train for me and many of my out of town friends sent me Grub Hub gift cards. This was the first time I'd used Grub Hub, as I'm notoriously cheap and didn't want to pay the extra fees for delivery. I have to admit, I about became addicted! The app was super easy to use and had most of my favorite restaurants. It was so nice to have all of those choices at my fingertips, and to have delicious dinners just show up at my door like magic! Every driver did a fabulous job and we had no issues at all. Grub Hub was a lifesaver! Cons There were a few restaurants I wanted that weren't in the app, but I guess that is the restaurant's choice to participate. This unites the people who look for such delivery services and also this helps employment to few who work on delivering the items to the customer Pros I use this app, web version and mobile version, for ordering food & groceries. Very user friendly and well designed for easy navigation. It uses google map to locate the restaurants, map them and show the distances etc. Payment is very secure and maintains the history of the orders etc. Cons It expand its ability for next generation interactivity and end to end process should be more smooth and seamless. sometime moving back & forth makes the user little confusing and order need to start from the begining again. I called them because Grubhub doesn’t offer any options sometimes and I wanted to be able to select my drink and things like that. They did refund me very quickly and they understood that I didn’t want to be part of being dishonest. They have a chat feature that allows you to quickly get ahold of someone without having to call and wait on hold. Pros I like the variety of restaurants that they have at your disposal, they have more places to choose from than some other food delivery apps Cons What I dislike is that they cut out the restaurants, they order your food as if they are YOU. So it’s not YOU ordering food it’s them pretending to be you and picking it up so that they don’t have to pay the restaurants a fee for using the service. I think this is especially bad for local places that aren’t chains. The restaurants don’t even know about this either because I’ve personally called several and told them what was going on.
