This saves time, reduces confusion, and improves communication across teams. Customer support and training workflows especially benefit from having clear visual guidance. Snagit makes that process fast and consistent. For anyone who regularly creates documentation, tutorials, or support materials, it’s an incredibly valuable tool. Pros Snagit is one of the most useful tools in my daily workflow. It makes it incredibly easy to capture screenshots, record quick videos, and annotate visuals so instructions are clear and easy to follow. The screen capture tools are fast and flexible. I can grab a full screen, a region, or scrolling content in seconds. The built-in editing tools make it easy to add arrows, highlights, text, and callouts that turn a simple screenshot into a clear step-by-step guide. The video capture and editing features are also extremely helpful. I often record short walkthroughs or explanations for teammates and customers. Being able to trim clips, add simple visual cues, and share quickly saves a lot of time compared to writing long explanations. From a security standpoint, I appreciate that the tool runs locally and allows me to control what I capture and share. That matters when working with internal documentation or sensitive systems. Quickly allows collaboration with visual cues that you can copy and paste in emails or on PPTX slides. Great training and SOP's Pros I have this application on my personal computer and my work computer. I cannot go without it. the Screen capturing and the ability to add rectangles/circles/arrows to draw attention to webpages or other software is so helpful. Cons I don't use the video capture aspect since I use Camtasia if I need to edit videos. I wish there was a pin-favorite-stamps area that would be locked to the interface. for example a big red "x" that could be easily added to the screen shot. It is great how it links to Camtasia which really helps if you need a screen capture taken and added into video projects. I haven't utilised all the tools available, however what I have wanted to achieve so far with captures I have been able to do no problem. Pros Fantastic capturing tool for screen shots or even video clips. Has plenty of tools create meaningful and professional content. One key tool is ability to capture scrolling windows as an image. Able to create process documents directly within Snagit with their templates using captured images. Fairly easy to use software great functionality to suit so many needs. Great how it links to other TechSmith tools such as Camtasia. So you can capture a image with Snagit then send it to a open Camtasia project and drop right on your timeline. Cons Some little annoyances which could be better to further enhance UX. So if you add a something on your image, say a shape, you add and position the shape. But it doesn't remain selected and you need to re-select the shape to further edit i.e. colour. Be great if you could integrate into MS Teams on slightly older version of Snagit. Cons I wish that it had the ability to scroll down in order to include things further down that are not shown on the screen rather than being limited to just the current screen view. The recording feature is generally pretty user friendly, but I do not like that you cannot merge two separate videos. Pros I am a supervisor and need to teach and educate my staff on a daily basis. When I am explaining something it makes it so easy to take a quick snag of something to show them the visual of what I am talking about. Additionally I have had to make training videos and this platform makes that easy to do. Cons I do not like that you cannot merge two videos together. You need to go through the entire recording. Cons I wish it were easy to edit video captures - at the moment it looks like you have to download their sister program, Camtasia. I'd just like to be able to use a blur tool in videos that I create (just short GIFs) to hide sensitive information but it doesn't seem like this is possible.
