This used to be a a time consuming, excel driven exercise. BUT no more since we switched to Quaderno. Everything we need for our tax forms is 1-click easy. Cons Nothing important. One smaller thing that would be nice is to have is more date range options in reports/sales. Simply so that we can see YTD sales info too, as it's now limited to 3 months max. CTO Information Services Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Takes the headache out of tracking all the tax rates for my SAAS" April 12, 2021 5.0 As we started approaching thresholds for various regions around the world our SAAS needed a way to calculate the taxes for each region and track them. We looked at some other tools but many of them were only targeted to one country. Quaderno let's use calculate EU and US taxes and other regions and tells us as we're approaching thresholds in each country which is great. Pros \- Simple tax calculation - Somewhat easy to integrate API if you're a developer as there is pretty good documentation - Priced for SAAS businesses Cons As a developer I didn't totally understand the whole tax VAT collection process going into it. More guides on that would have been helpful as I was getting started. I'm a small business owner and software engineer so more guides on how to not only integrate it but also how to use Quaderno to calculate how much to report and where to report. Furthermore, if Quaderno offered paid phone/screen share support for making sure I had everything setup correctly I would have paid for that in an instant. I would pay by the hour for that kind of help and especially with filing my first tax reports. For example, one problem I learned about later was that I wasn't collecting the IP addresses properly at first in a way Quaderno could understand. So that was a whole headache. Alternatives considered [Avalara](https://www.capterra.com/p/75673/AvaTax/) Reason for choosing Quaderno Avalara told me they only supported US businesses. Business seems to have no idea that giving a discounter for a one-time fee is worth more than losing a subscriber. Pros Easy to setup with Stripe and Paypal, good info about taxes around the world Cons Price is just insane. $500 for 5000 transactions. When we have a business doing small transactions but with volume ($5 to $10), it is just insane as we will pay 1 to 2% of our income just for this service. And it is not even the subscription yet! Se gana mucho tiempo, se reducen las gestiones administrativas y sus posibles dolores de cabeza a la hora de declarar impuestos. Pros Muy satisfecho con los cálculos de impuestos por países... Esta era una tarea muy dispendiosa anteriormente. Igualmente la creación de facturas para declarar y para entregar al cliente de manera automatizada, por fin se hace fácil... Como profesional independiente, Quaderno se ha convertido en mi administrador privado... se encarga de todo por mi: la gestión de impuestos, facturas y demás todo en uno. Cons He empezado a usarlo hace un par de meses. Quizás podría ser un poco más barata la subscripción anual para profesionales independientes que aún empiezan. Es entendible que por todas las facilidades que otorga, maneje estos precios. Pero si tu negocio al empezar, tiene un buen volumen de ventas, te aconsejo que adquieras esta herramienta porque te va a ahorrar mucho tiempo y dolores de cabeza. June 28, 2022 5.0 So far an excellent experience and I experience tremendous piece of mind that my invoices are up to par. Pros Quaderno is easy to use. I tried it out first on the free plan and was quick to start the paid program. What I like most is that cusomter services actually responds in hours and not take days or weeks. They follow through to ensure you got your answer. Cons There has not been a real con. Except that I perhaps should have read the tutorials better before starting and it would have gone even smoother.
