Pros

Boss811 is very simple to set up. It's a no-code solution for anyone to set up assignment rules in just minutes.

Cons

The reporting customization needs more help. We're always wanting to see up-to-date live reports that I can create very quickly and easily and be able to download as CSV.

Overall our experience from the on-boarding training, to ongoing support, to automatic upgrades as our state's rules have changed, to just daily using the app have been easy and seamless.

Pros

Our 25,000 customer utility used Boss811 to replace a vintage home-built software solution that was expensive to maintain and impossible to upgrade. Switching to a proven solution like Boss811 was a "no brainer" from a cost perspective. What surprised us was the unanimous positive response from our field personnel. The guys who locate our pipelines really appreciate the features and interface (using primarily cellphones) with this software.

Cons

Nothing comes to mind. Really the Boss811 team exceeded our expectations at every step. No notes.

Old software was no longer supported due to the DB version. We had contracted to have the software brought into compliance with available database and upgrade it to include better features. The project was overbudget and well past due when we pulled the plug and switched to Boss811 instead.

Pros

The mapping is nice and the dashboard is helpful. I like the options for customizing it

Cons

I don't like the fact that i can not arrange it so the locators can see all the work that is out there but not what there coworker's have done . It is ether one way or the other, makes for a lot of board watching! PLEASE fix!

It's been good from start to finish. Anytime there has been an issue, or something was not working as intended, it's been fixed.

Pros

Clean interface, fairly simple to learn and understand. Our customer support specialist was great during implementation and again during the positive response switch over. They communicated well, and consistently provided a high level of service.

Cons

Nothing in particular that I dislike. The mobile application seems to be missing some minor functionality that the web platform contains.

We have only been a Boss811 customer for about 4 months, but it feels like longer. In those 4 months the experience has been smooth and great. This has been hands down the best software transition I have had an opportunity to be a part of. Their Support Staff are extremely responsive and patient. There has only been one major issue, which was an outage/problem outside of their control. I highly recommend this software solution to anyone looking for a program to manage their locates.

Pros

The automation of afterhours callout for emergency locates to our technicians. Before Boss811 it was a manual process for our Outside Plant Superintendent. For 5 years, he performed the task of taking incoming calls from Indiana 811 call center for our emergency locates outside of our regular business hours, once we signed up with Boss811 and set up our routing rules our OSP Superintendent was able to gain part of his home life back. The product works for us in ways we were not getting from our previous LMS. Thank you Boss811!

Cons

So far, so haven't really had a bad experience with Boss811. Very few people like change, so our technicians were not thrilled to go thru "another" software change. However, the change for them, the transition wasn't difficult. I really can't think of anything to say that I didn't enjoy or like. If I had to name something, I would have to say just the set-up that you have to go through that is unique to your own organization, but honestly without going through that you will not be prepared to create routing rules in the future. It is essential, Boss811 is simply empowering you for later.

Pros

Attaching Kmz's to view your plant. It is a nice feature to have and the amount of time it saves to accomplish your work helps.

Cons

Mobile app is slow at times when loading maps. At times the app times out and you have to reload the maps.

Pros

Very Easy to use, easy to learn. When we switched, I picked it up fairly quickly. It is user friendly.

Cons

Nothing really, I do think there should be some color to the program to separate some of the features and make it more modern looking.

Overall working on Boss for almost 2 years daily, it is very user friendly and easy to teach new hires. It is very straight forward and makes locating tickets very simplistic.

Pros

I like having multiple functions and ways to organize my workload on a daily basis. I also like how the support team is always there to help navigate all of my needs when I am in need.

Cons

One thing I wish I could do on my dashboard is color code each areas widget. I would like to see each territory color coded for easy direction for the team overall.

In a word, OUTSTANDING! When Miss Dig changed web platforms, our old ticket management software would not and could not keep up to deliver tickets in a timely fashion. Boss811 had us up and running a trial version in a couple of days while the old software was still dead in the water. After a week, we decided to made the switch and were on board & running smoothly! The dashboard interface is easily tailored so each team member can customize it to their preferences. We locate utilities in the City & 9 surrounding municipalities so reports were a hassle in the past. Boss811 has customized our reporting to make our workflow seamless & instantaneous.

Pros

The communication & customer service is amazing. When I call with a question or an issue (which is rare) an actual person answers the phone. The tech support is always helpful & resolves any problems quickly & efficiently.

Cons

Cost. Staying on a budget is challenging for a municipality. While Boss811 is not the least expensive option, the product & service they provide is well worth the investment. The lowest bidder is not always the best option. Just ask the astronauts on the Space Shuttle Challenger!

I have had a great experience with the system, from helping to set it up with the City of Savannah to using it daily. the program and the team behind it are top-notch.

Pros

The System is straightforward to use; it has all the tabs you need to organize your daily work. You couldn't ask for much more.

Cons

I don't know, maybe needs something to help with mapping the tickets, or something to prioritize tickets when they are all in the same area.

What I like most about BOSS811 is how easy it is to use, we are a larger community who receives a large amount of PA One Call tickets and this software allows us to manage them efficiently, allow us to stay in compliance with regulations.

Cons

I have not found a feature on BOSS811 that I don't find usefull.

Pros

The GIS integration and simplified ticketing is the best feature. With 811, maps are essential to the success of the solution. The visuals provided make in the field locates so much quicker and increase productivity in a truly measurable way. Also, the ability to review and close and re-screen tickets increases efficiency.

Cons

This product is easy to use and we have no real complaints about it.

Overall, it has been an excellent experience. From the set up to the training, ease of daily use, and the willingness of the customer service to help out when needed.

Pros

We can pull our monthly counts for each of our pipelines without having to go through each ticket at the end of every month. Customer service is very responsive and willing to help out with the most challenging questions or concerns. Great software for smaller companies who don't get a lot of tickets in each month.

Cons

Would like to see more customizable reports as the company needs.

BOSS811 has greatly improved our ability to track and mange our locate tickets tremendously and the transition to this software was very easy.

Pros

Easily allowed overlays of our current mapping/GIS. Great integration with google maps and gps functions. Easily allows the ability to attach pictures, notes and maintains a history of all activity. Boss811 has been great to work with if any features currently dont exist, they work well with developing a solution and most of the time has already been working on the feature but testing hasn't completed yet.

Cons

The software may not have every feature you want at the beginning but the team is great with listening to suggestions for future features and implementing them.

Pros

The ability to create simple, highly customizable scripts that run when a ticket is received. Each time an 811 ticket is received, the script gets to work checking the time and calendar in order to assign the ticket to the appropriate staff.

Cons

The cost is a little high, but worth it.

This software is extremely user friendly and easy to navigate. The search feature makes finding specific tickets quick and painless. The information provided from each ticket is thorough and laid out in an easy to decipher manner. The reports tab has many helpful reports that are easy to run.

Cons

As far as my personal uses for this software, I have not yet found any issues as all the features meet my demands and are easy to navigate.

Their User experience is second to none but what sets Boss811 apart from everyone else is their customer service experience. They are responsive, friendly, and knowledgable.

Pros

I like the customization, Column Orders, Saved Searches, Dashboards, can all be customized for you and what you need.

Cons

I don't like how the mobile app does not have a dashboard like it does on the browser version. When exporting dates, times are included in the cell.
