Cons

New system take some time to become accustomed to vs old. Would be nice to work in toggle switches for early retirement or semi-retirement scenarios.

I have talked with everyone from \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] and others and EVERYONE is totally focused on excellence and client satisfaction.

Pros

The product is ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS 100% accurate. Even when you think the software "goofed", their customer service team can provide fast and reliable answers that fully explain why the questioned output is correct. They understand ALL the pertinent rules and apply them correctly.

Cons

I have only recently seen the "new" report format and I do not like it as much as what is now referred to as the "Legacy" format. There are some minor improvements, but other features are now missing.

### "More than just software"

Confidence, knowing SS Timing has my back makes me confident in guiding my clients. In a world of Customer service robots SS Timing has live courteous people who know their stuff.

Pros

The software has been very user friendly, it has features I haven't even begun to explore, but it does the most important thing for me which is help create and navigate my clients through all the SS timing alternatives. But more important than the software is the support not only how to use the software but to answer SS questions. I often tell me clients "that because of the complexity of Social Security you may stump me but I can and will get the answers" my first call is then to SS timing and their staff is always courteous and always know their stuff.

Cons

Their are parts of the software like cash flow etc., that I have other software that does the same thing so they are not useful to me, but that isn't necessarily a negative.

### "Social Security Timing "

The software has a non existent learning cure. However, if there is something that you need to know that the software doesn't calculate, you can call the customer service line. There isn't any of what you get everywhere else. You know the drill, "Your call is important to us, but we will make you hold for an hour. " They answer within 3 rings and are friendly and either have an answer on the spot or will call you back by the end of business that day.

Pros

This software gives me an accurate calculation of the amount my client will receive, when they apply for Social Security benefits. I can plug the numbers in my other planning software to determine taxes and net income.

Cons

It will only calculate on someone 40 years of age or older.

We have found the SST program to be the centerpiece of our Retirement Planning Operation. It has a very professional look and is clearly written.

Pros

We had previously used 2 competing programs, both of which we discontinued after trying SST. SST has a common sense appproach in info entry. Plus, the end product is very accurate AND client friendly.

Cons

When needed, manual entry is somewhat time consuming.

### "SST for Financial Planning Clients"

We're using the product to determine the optimal timing for turning on Social Security for our pre-retirement clients.

Pros

The scope of modeling is unparalleled for this product. Any scenario that you want to take your client through when it comes to the timing of their social security is possible to show them using this software. It is modeled in a very easy way to present to the client, and compares to other scenarios. If you're on top of your client's retirement goals and transition to fixed income, you'll love the SST product!

Cons

Getting all of the data entered correctly is the biggest drawback to the product. It's a lot of keystrokes, and the possibility of error exists.

We have used this hundreds of times with our financial planning clients. The benefits of what this tool says is tremendous.

Pros

We started using this about 8 years ago. It has changed the way we look at Social Security completely. The software is super easy to use and understand. There are many good tools inside of the website. I frequently use the intake forms with clients. The customer service when I call is outstanding! These representatives are truly Social Security experts. I never doubt what they are saying when I call, and that says a lot. I have and would continue to recommend Social Security Timing, even at the increased price. It is worth it!

Cons

I truly have nothing bad to say about the software. Whenever I have questions, I just call and get the answer.

Pros

I really like that the software looks at the complete SS picture. I work with a lot of School teachers that are affected by the WEP and the GPO. This software helps me help them make smart decisions.

Cons

It takes a little time to get everything plugged in but I think that because it doesn’t take any short cuts the output is more reliable

My review is based on my past use of the product. I am not currently using the product. However, I am in the process of considering its use again.

Pros

The charts were very helpful for the client.

Cons

Having to enter each year of substantial earnings from the Social Security Statement. But I don't think there is a work around for that.

The report, top of page 4... Recommended strategy. That is really all I use.

Cons

The reports are not customizable allowing the elimination of unwanted info.

SST is a good package and your support is excellent. The main reason I cancelled my subscription is that I now get similar software and support at no charge.

Pros

When I first started using SST the SSA allowed for a file and suspend strategy tied with spousal benefits. The software made it look easy to work with that complex calculation. Once SSA changed the benefit claiming rules, the calculation became much easier and the choices became limited. Beautifully generated reports added value to my practice. Your team always provided expert advise which was much appreciated.

Cons

I found with the new SSA benefit rules that I was using the software less and still paying $49/month. One of my asset managers where I place much of my business provides similar software and report generator free of charge to me.

Customer service is fantastic.

Pros

I have worked with several different SS timing software programs and Social Security Timing is the best. It's accurate, customizable and the customer service is worth the service alone. They will answer Social Security questions by sending the SS.gov site info directly to me. I've used their customer service as a resource.

Cons

One thing that makes this software great is that it will allow you to put in the earnings from the SS statement and also a non covered pension to determine the exact WEB or GPO offset.

When to take SS and how it fits into the client's overall strategy. I review every page with the client on the presentation.

Pros

Easy to Use - 4 Options - Cash Flow Pages - Credibility I establish with clients by using it. Many advisors do not take the time to discuss SS with their clients. "The decision you make today may have to last a lifetime so we need to get it right the first time"

Cons

The new Platform. I like the Legacy - please keep it. I only use the SS Portion and use a 2% inflation factor. I do not integrate other items into the presentation.

It’s been a good experience. It comes in as a great tool working with folks that come from my Social Security workshops.

Pros

Use in conjunction with Retirement Analyzer to provide retirement income planning for clients.

Cons

Hard for me to create custom scenarios ...I get confused on where and what numbers to enter in And why. I often call customer service to help me. CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM IS FANTASTIC ... prompt, professional and knowledgeable. That the PRIMARY REASON why I am still using SS TIMING SOFTWARE and continue to as long as the customer service team is available to help me.

My overall experience is outstanding every time I need to call the company I get someone who is very very helpful I liked the software as it was before but I have not used the new version enough yet

Pros

I use this product so that I can do a financial planning so the chart I like the most is on page 2 which indicates how much money they will get each year from age 62 to Age 70

Cons

It does exactly what I need it to do. Currently I find that the new version harder to work with

Social Security Timing provides me with a powerful tool in having the discussion with my clients about one of their biggest financial decisions in their lives and probably THEE most important decision for their retirement.

Pros

The narrative of the recommended age(s) to take benefits combined with the graphics.

Cons

Although I understand why, it is time consuming and tedious to have to input every single year of Social Security covered earnings into the system.
