### "Flexible and adaptable"

June 4, 2020

5.0

Kahua provides the ability to implement based on industry standards, adapt those standards or extend the product via configuration. The built in kbuilder tool means the product can be "customized" via configuration and available on computer and mobile.

Pros

The user interface is easy to understand and navigate, even has dark mode! Kahua provides the ability to align with industry standards and support company specific processes with configuration and not customization. As a platform, integration and migration with other systems is easily supported. The configurable hierarchical structure provides the ability for Kahua to align with how each company is organized and how programs and projects are managed. The built in kbuilder tool allows companies to support extending the product in house.

Cons

As Kahua provides an easier way to extend the product it is easy to try to implement too much. It is important to focus on what is important to the organization and project teams.

### "AI is changing the way apps are created"

October 22, 2025

4.0

It has been challenging but we are continuing to smooth out the process. I'm super excited about the new AI features that are coming. I tested it out and created an app in less than 5 mins.

Pros

I like the capability of being able to customize the app to suit your needs. The new AI features are a guge game changer in app development! I created an app in less than 5 mins.

Cons

I don't like thay its not as intuitive as it could be and an example will be the absence of a task after the review workflow to tell the user to send for approval.

### "Dont waste your time"

January 9, 2023

2.0

Pros

Nothing. Everything about this software is frustrating.

Cons

Constant problems with loading the platform each day and loading information. Constantly having to stop what we are doing to write an email and attach screen shots. The person that's supposed to help doesn't understand what we try to tell him. There may be a language barrier.

### "Kahua User"

October 22, 2025

5.0

Have worked on 3 programs with Kahua and have enjoyed their support and encouragement. It is great to have an account manager also that can connect us with the correct team as opportunities arise.

Pros

Very intuitive software while agile and flexible. Easy to navigate and user friendly. Enjoy having all information in Kahua so that analytics can be used to make data driven decisions.

Cons

Sometimes I take issue with the speed of use. There have also been a few instances where the system ‘freezes’.

### "Kahua keeps getting better"

October 22, 2025

5.0

Overall my experience is positive with Kahua eager to help with issues. When we encounter issues Kahua has allowed us access to people all the way up to the CTO to help address our concerns.

Pros

The flexibility and the ability to customize the apps to the clients requirements. We have been able to write custom app extensions in K builder which has allowed us to exceed our clients expectations.

Cons

The stability and overall speed of Kahua. We have had issues with Kahua’s overall speed. We have brought the issue up with Kahua and they are working to resolve it.

### "Kahua is a great solution"

August 26, 2025

5.0

Kahua is a very good, modern project management solution. It is a great alternative to previous tools and I would recommend it.

Pros

I love how the multi-edit function allows me to streamline workflow, especially when processing large amounts of items per project.

Cons

There are common lags in Kahua processing times for tasks. These lags can last up to a minute or more in duration, causing stress since I work on many projects daily.

### "Great system supported by great people"

October 22, 2025

5.0

Having worked with Kahua for many years, we have seen the product (and company) grow exponentially. Kahua is fast becoming the tool of choice for many verticals, and remains flexible/adaptive to bring value to so many more verticals too. The company culture is strong even during growth mode with new, great people joining and buying into that culture that is instilled and demonstrated from the top leaders and founders.

Pros

Very impressed with the roadmap and vision of the company’s leaders to innovate new technology. Each year’s Enabling Innovation conference brings out new features and capabilities that continue to bring value to companies and industries. Additionally the company is comprised of truly good people, folks who work hard and play hard, all with the genuine goal to bring value to their clients while maintaining an enjoyable and nurtured work environment.

Cons

I do wish Kahua was more open to integrating and collaborating across other systems that may be considered competitors. Some clients are still on legacy systems and may want some Kahua apps while keeping other modules with other systems. Not the ideal scenario but Kahua needs to understand some client situations may require two systems to work together in the same space.

### "Kahua Works (Usually)"

October 22, 2025

5.0

Kahua is very flexible in its ability to meet most requirements. However, the built-in customization and power is often not enough and requires additional developers to build app extensions. It’s quite difficult to build apps even for what should be small changes in other systems. But overall, it is extremely good at empowering business users to actually do their job once things are properly set up.

Pros

The best part is the flexibility of the solution and the constant improvements that are made. There are always new feature enhancements that are usually useful and you have the ability to use what you need and disable what you don’t need.

Cons

It’s hard to get exactly the way you want. Designing customized workflows is often very hard if you aren’t able to do things the Kahua way. The way forms are presented is not very flexible.

Great. It's easy to use. Once your learn a few things about how to use a couple of apps, you know how to do pretty much anything. Implementation and support staff were very patient and willing to help as we ramped up.

Pros

Flexible platform with great workflows and the ability to manage the flow of data across processes and phases of the asset's lifecycle.

Cons

The platform is very configurable. You need to really spend time defining your processes to ensure you configure Kahua for the results you want.

### "Kahua"

June 2, 2020

4.0

Clark was an early adopter of the Kahua platform. Our previous experience with Kahua's \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] (the same team that built Constructware) meant we were among the first to learn of the new system and it's new approach to Construction Management software. The platform approach (PAAS) as opposed to the traditional, rigid, SAAS model solved many problems we'd experienced in the past and was true differentiator from the other leading products in this space. As an early adopter, it wasn't always smooth sailing though. We suffered from problems typical of new systems, but the Kahua team addressed those and we're now realizing the benefits that the platform-based system affords us as we continue to build out company-specific enhancements to our processes in the system and even entirely new applications .

Pros

The power of Kahua lies in it's ability to conform to the way not only your company works, but how your PROJECT works. Every company is different and every project is different. Everyone will agree that collaborative systems have the potential to make the overall team most efficient, but only if EVERYONE participates. Since every member of the team typically brings their own systems to the table, the first hurdle to overcome on a new project is whose system will we use? As a GC, we have the ability to influence the system our subcontractors use, but much less influence over what the client and design team will use. The flexibility of Kahua has enabled us to take feedback from our clients and design partners and build those features into the Kahua system so that it's not just a system built around the GC's perspective, but addresses the needs of every team member and when implemented correctly, makes the entire team more efficient.

Cons

The licensing model. Per-user licensing models are counter-productive. They deter companies from getting everyone on the system and often the users who get vetoed (due to cost) are the ones that either need the info the most are would potentially be some of the best contributors to the collaborative process. Licensing needs to be a simple unlimited user per project model.

Reason for choosing Kahua

Three main reasons:1) Platform architecture provided the ability to not only customize applications to our needs, but to build out entirely new applications on the platform much more efficiently than developing from scratch in say a .net environment as we'd done previously. 2) Kahua's architecture is what they a call "hub to hub" as opposed to most systems "hub and spoke" which addresses the issue of data ownership by giving every member of the project team ownership over their own data. Basically, in every other system out there, one party owns the system and all others are invited into it. That means the one party also owns the data and determines what data (if any) everyone else will walk away from the project with. (If you're not the hosting party and that doesn't scare you, it should.) In Kahua, every individual company sets up their own Kahua database and the databases link up to share documents and workflow throughout the project. At the end of the project, any data shared gets copied to the various parties so everyone walks away with a copy of what they had during the project. This is a huge benefit of the system and frankly one that Kahua has done a poor job of communicating to the public.3) The team. The \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] of Kahua \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] are the same two guys that founded and built Constructware. We'd used Constructware since 1998, had a great relationship with \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] and knew they were capable of delivering a quality product.

### "Promising software with challenges"

June 15, 2020

4.0

Our experience has been mixed. Many team members see the value of the platform, others are still un-convinced. The system has helped us collect and organize data, but we have not yet been able to use the platform to consistently turn around that data into visuals/deliverables so the promise of efficiency gained has still not been realized. Bugs and lack of features/reports has hampered adoption. As a firm inexperienced with a centralized databasing software, implementation was challenging as we had to think not only of how to use the software, but also how to set up our business processes to match. Our implementation was managed by a 3rd party (Runding) and, while their partnership was valuable, I believe our situation would've been more effectively handled internally by Kahua - we needed to understand the intent of some features in Kahua to know how to implement them.

Pros

The transparency and openness in regards to development of the software. The responsiveness of the entire team. The ability to customize and configure the software to our specific work style.

Cons

The flexibility can also create complication and deviation from established 'standards.' The software is sluggish, load times and delay are a common complaint from staff - although this seems to have improved with latest update. It would also be nice if the software came with a better suite of built-in reports that could be used "day-1" lack of even basic list-style reports has limited adoption. Lastly, there have been a few bugs which. Especially when these affect the work breakdown structure, these undermine confidence in the system and have further hampered adoption efforts.

### "Kahua Review"

October 7, 2020

5.0

Pros

Kahua provides a configurable and customizable platform at various levels including the enterprise level, a division level as well as the project. It is very intuitive requiring little detailed training for end-users. Additionally, it supports an effective collaboration model where project stakeholders at all levels can participate in a digital fashion. The features and functionality provided have allowed us to start eliminating "point solutions" and focus our delivery teams on one key application.

Cons

Growing pains as the platform matures, but the Kahua team handles them maturely and promptly to ensure that we, the customer, get a solid solution where we can drive consistency and efficiency across the enterprise while still addressing project specific requirements.

Reason for choosing Kahua

The detailed assessment of features and functionality, along with a reasonable cost structure made Kahua the unanimous winner in our assessment.

### "Project Management and Owner's Representative firm"

June 9, 2020

5.0

We are a Construction and Real Estate management firm and hence we are using the Kahua platform to manage our projects were we act as PM or Owners Rep. Kahua has allowed for a proper team integration, facilitated information management and improved our team's efficiency in critical processes.

Pros

The platform allows the capacity to adapt workflows and processes specific to each company and to integrate with other stakeholders.

Cons

To create specific apps it is required special training and a large man-hour investment. Ideally efforts should be focused into simplifying the design, test and deployment of new solutions.

Pros

### "Good, sound product with great support"

June 16, 2020

Pros

We have just gone through a quick-start implementation... it's our first time using Kahua on a project, and users continue to be highly enthusiastic about the capabilities, and ease of use. We have configured and implemented the software to fit project needs in about 30 days. This has take several months with other products.

Cons

Like similar products, out of the box reporting is fair, but incomplete for our purposes. However, we like that we can create reports and dashboard on our own.

Reason for choosing Kahua
