The ultimate difference-maker for us is the caliber of service from the entire IDR team. Any issue or request we have ever sent in was responded to the same day with warmth and professionalism. It's the best offering for its functionality at this ballpark price point and a great fit for a business like ours that still has lots of runway and upside for rapid growth. Pros Investor deal room meets the majority of our businesses needs at Madison Investing, currently. It securely stores the vital information related to deals and investors - both current and prospective. Cons We use IDR as a quasi-CRM and stretch the boundaries of it's fit, from that perspective. To be clear, it was never promised to be a CRM in the first place, so it's unfair to ding IDR for missing CRM-like capabilities that you would find in Salesforce, Insightly and other CRMs. Certain functionality is less intuitive, such as document visibility. It is a solid portal to handle doc management and reporting. It is also useful to know where to go to find documents. Pros I like the simplicity. Core features are included but represented in a way that is very simple and easy to use. Its a great value for the price point. Cons Sometimes is seems that the numbers are wrong. That said, I have actually seen situations when the numbers are wrong, but it is driven by the inputs from the investment manager - so some of this is uncontrollable. Like you mentioned Investor Deal Room doesn't actually perform most of the math calculations since generally we're operating more as a look-through into the sponsor's back office than an accounting tool. Whenever I have an issue, they get back to me right away and either walk me through the issue or if necessary, fix it. They are great to deal with. Pros There were 2 primary benefits: 1 - Investors love having the snapshot view of their holdings and a place to have all of their documents stored. 2 - Gave a more professional "look and feel" for our company. Cons The contact/investor/legal entity distinction and hierarchy is confusing. Reasons for choosing Investor Deal Room Recommendation from another user/customer as well as the hand holding that they gave me in the sales and set-up process. That same level of service continues after the sale. They are great to deal with.
