Many channels on YouTube use it for screen recordings. It also gives an opportunity that you can add your desired audio or multimedia on your videos. Pros Camtasia studio is easy to learn and it has simple user interface. It is very popular for its screen recordings feature because it provide neat and professional quality result. It provides many functionality to users to edit videos immediately and add effects and filters on it. I believe Camtasia studio is well worth the cost software due to its many options and simplicity. Cons It often show crashes and bugs while you are editing videos but the update which has auto save feature helped many users a lots. You cannot do detailed customizations in camtasia studio as its competitors providing. Camtasia has a limited keyboard controls and also they missing many commands which make their keyboard commands weak and poor. It is one of the best and useful tool I had used in a long time. Pros It was very easy to learn and use and in few hours I was working like a pro. I could record screen and do voice-over and also set different screen sizes. I could also edit not wanted sections with ease and without much training. Pros Camtasia is extremely easy to get started with. The trial version is fully featured and time-limited. You have 30 days to try out the software. I wanted to record a demo which was fairly complicated and involved lots of different windows. After installing Camtasia, simply load up the software, arrange what you want to record, then press the record button. You can set an area for recording which is helpful when dealing with large displays. After finishing the recording, you can then spend the majority of your time editing the video. Camtasia is not as fully featured as Adobe Premiere, but for this use case it really doesn't need to be. Being able to splice video, add various effects (like speed up), and add audio is sufficient enough. I haven't looked into the more advanced features yet as the basic features are good enough for my needs. Lastly Camtasia enables you to export video in multiple formats and finely tune the size based on the video / audio quality. Cons The only gripe I have is that the yearly plan is somewhat pricey for me at $299 per user per year. However they do offer a free upgrade to the next version. And the renewal fee is reasonable at $50. Overall the ease of use is worth the license cost. It has some great features to minimize the post-editing, meaning you can use it to simplify your work when creating a series of training videos. Pros It's very easy to use and it helps you configure to your needs through assistant wizards. The result is very good, it does a nice compression on the files. The editing features are surprisingly good for a software to capture your screen and allows to create interactive and really great videos with some work. Cons As an editor, it might be too simple to do more advanced and customized things. Reason for choosing Camtasia Easy, simple and effective. Pros I needed this software for my new job as an instructional designer and I'm glad I made the investment. Previous I was using Techsmith Screenflow – while it's a good tool, it's only for Macs and doesn't work well for collaboration. This is easy to learn, feature-rich, and with enough tools for decent audio edting and treatment (and that's coming from a voiceover specialist). I love the certification courses and the community of support and webinars is fantastic. Cons Some of the Windows features aren't available for Macs, such as better support for captions (including .srt files). I would also appreciate having more advanced color correction, but I know that's a nice-to-have and not a need-to-have. And finally, why isn't there an iOS app version?
