From tech support to transferring Camtasia to computer to new computer. Of course, the video editing software is the best. Pros When I first started using Camtasia, years ago, I probably didn't need such a sophisticated video editing platform. But now, I wouldn't do without it. It is so quick and comprehensive. My videos render in seconds. Cons I don't love the price. I do update to the latest versions every once in a while and that has additional cost to it. But I love Camtasia and it is worth the price. If that was an option like da Vinci resolve studio then it would be much better in my opinion as a software that would be my go to in order to edit. My workflow right now is only to use cam take a to produce a video and then I transfer it over once I have exported the video to edit out any of the bad clips. Pros I like using the software and how easy it is when loading media and working with the timeline. It is so convenient to be able to drag and drop everything. Cons The AI for captivate where other programs like Davinci allows unlimited use on device. I understand the thought of a business trying to make money but not allowing customers to have access to a tool and causing them frustration by having them constantly pay for yet another subscription is really negative. Your software simply does not provide every possible use case for the standard user. The transcription option is lacking in being able to quickly edit the video without having to pay for another stupid subscription on top of everything else that we already have to pay for. The ease of is really great. This is a one stop do it all type of software. You can add your own videos in addition to you screen recording too. The end quality of the product delivered by Camtasia is worth investing in it. If you're on the fence about it and need a push to get it, I definitely recommend it. Pros Camtasia is really easy to use even for beginners. There are lot of tutorials available on the Camtasia website to get started on the software. There are inbuilt video editing features or drop downs that make video editing a breeze. The screen capture feature is amazing and trouble free. All you need is a microphone and a screen to get started. Various pre-built animations can be added into your video to quicken the editing process. Video export options are also available to save videos in the desired format. Cons There is a very small learning curve that new users might find annoying at first but its ease of use becomes natural after a while. Cons Working with projects is a bit challenging in the beginning, but Techsmith provides very clear supportive materials. Reason for choosing Camtasia I chose Camtasia because they have a full suite of products, the trial worked excellent and I so much enjoyed working with Camtasia that I never looked at the competition anymore. Pros What I like most about Camtasia is the ease of use. The layout and features are pretty intuitive: making video creation one of the less stressful tasks within the group. Cons What I like least are the choices for creating engaging videos. As the experts in video creation, I feel there should be more options to create captivating videos. Pros Ho iniziato ad usare Camtasia senza aver mai fatto editing video professionale, con un background da grafico web. Devo dire che l'organizzazione dell'interfaccia che permette di registrare lo schermo ed editare i contenuti è molto semplice e intuitiva, con funzionalità analoghe ad altri software di grafica e fotoritocco. Ho trovato molto evidente la modalità di registrazione dello schermo, e l'editing del video, per la maggior parte 'drag and drop'. Ho molto apprezzato la possibilità di catturare tutto ciò che accade sullo schermo del PC, compreso il mouse: il movimento di quest'ultimo può essere modificato in fase di editing conferendo al video un aspetto davvero professionale. Cons Durante l'utilizzo di Camtasia 2020 ho riscontrato dei punti deboli, che sono sono stati corretti con la versione 2021: non è possibile salvare in rete le risorse media (difetto risolto con un maggior controllo e personalizzazione delle risorse remote); gestione difficoltosa dei gruppi di elementi (anche questo aspetto è stato migliorato nella versione 2021). Ho inoltre notato che è preferibile utilizzare un secondo monitor per scollegare il canvas dalla timeline e agire su entrambe con maggior facilità. It's glitchy, updates ruin projects and force remakes or reshoots. Tech support is standoffish and difficult, and the dev team seemingly has no interest in taking user feedback. Pros It's relatively simple so you can figure out the basics pretty quick.Try doing ANYTHING more than cutting a clip together though... Cons Technical Support and User Experience. Every update ruins SOMETHING about the program and it takes weeks or even months to get it fixed. The latest version deleted entire asset libraries that I've been using for 5+ years, and most interactions with the support team leave me more frustrated than when I started. They even insulted me and said I couldn't read once. Reason for choosing Camtasia No choice. Employer demands it. I would have left years ago if I could. It's literal torture. That’s an audio version of my newsletter that I voice into Audiate and then assemble with Camtasia. I also do PowerPoint presentations and slide decks with voice overs and Camtasia is great for those. Pros Easy to get started with and to come back to if you only use it every couple weeks like me. Because I am using it several times a week, it has been worth the price. I have seen and used some cheaper options like Movavi, but I end up coming back to Camtasia. With the added MP3 and media available, I find it great to use and I'll keep paying for it as long as I'm needing to edit videos. I work primarily off my laptop and Camtasia is just what I need. Pros I like how easy it is to enhance and existing video, as well as how easy it is to separate audio and video when I want to make an MP3 out of an old video. Many other programs are better for video editing, but none will be as easy as Camtasia, plus it doesn't take much time to learn and you don't need to have high specs on your PC to use it. It is a highly recommended video editor. Pros Camtasia is a good video editor and a great screen and audio capturer, it does what you ask and what you need, and the tools it gives you to work on a video are just and necessary, but very well worked. The screenshot is good, it doesn't need a lot of space and you have different qualities to choose from. It is a very easy-to-use program, with a fairly simple interface; is the video editor that I would recommend if you want to start editing videos. Cons It doesn't have many professional tools like animation handling, also the image and audio tools are very limited. Pros I'm not a big fan of screen recorders but when I was using Camtasia, I was really impressed by how easy it was to use. I just had to press a hotkey and it would start recording my screen and I would be able to add video and audio over it. It's also really easy to change the video format, add text and effects.
