Very good auditing tool that can help score performance on internal staff and outside consultants or contractors. Pros Easy to build reports and dashboards. Building customized reports and workflows. Easy to use system. Allows everything to tie back to a project, include cost, budget, documents, forms, invoices, change orders, task orders, etc. Cons System runs slow around noon-3pm EST. As an EB Admin, certain functionalities when creating forms are uneditable or would require you to remove a field and start over again. Dashboards do not quickly refresh with up to date changes made in processes or reports. Sometimes it takes almost 6hrs to refresh a dashboard based on new changes. I has really helped with our reporting to our clients and providing as-built information to them. Pros The software is user friendly, and has a great file structure for ease of use. You can tailor the processes to fit your organization and their processes, which is fantastic. Training is easy to provide to non users. Cons Sometimes the uploading of documents is too slow. This is construction management software that you can tailor to fit the needs of your project. I've used e-Builder for three (3) different higher education institutions and each University is able to tailor e-Builder to fit the project's needs. +Notifications. E-Builder will email you a notification when you have a RFI to respond to, when you have a submittal to review, when you've been copied on a RFI response, etc. This is very helpful and allows you to notify multiple individuals at once through the software. It also keeps a record. +Documentation. E-Builder is meant to store documentation and it does excel in this. I've used e-Builder to access submittals, RFIs, drawing revisions, etc. on long term projects (24-36 month construction) when sometimes the documentation was uploaded years back. E-Builder does not put a time limit on an upload, so you can always access it. Cons \-Training is definitely required to use e-Builder. It can be confusing with different terminologies used such as "forms", "processes", etc. I just need to find submittals and RFIs but can easily get lost. Without training, it is easy to hate e-Builder, just like I did in the beginning. -Cost - this is not a cheap software and licenses can be costly. Review Source AnnMarie A. I want to quit because of it. Pros If I could use it properly, I might be able to answer this question, but in almost 2 years of using it, I still have not mastered it. And I am not stupid. Cons Too many e-mails. If you use it daily you can see what's in your dashboard. VERY HARD to use, not intuitive, difficult to do EVERYTHING, compared to prior software. Does not integrate with Oracle, processes are overly complex and do not follow the correct path. No matter how long ago it happens this keeps a good and clean record of everything that happens during the project. Pros It is easy to use and it doesn't take long to learn. I was placed onto a project that uses e-builder exclusively and I needed to be able to start using it by the end of the week and after the first couple submittals I was able to pick it up. Cons I could use a couple more options for the "Field Reports" section. There are moments when I am placing my reports from a site visit and I do not have an appropriate place to file it. We have also simplified many unnecessary procedures, which has had a positive impact on all project management processes and saved us a significant amount of time and effort. Pros e-Builder Enterprise's effective management of all papers, reports and project members' communications on the cloud allows all team members and stakeholders to stay updated and informed of the project's progress. Having all project management tools in one place streamlines procedures and saves time, as most difficulties are resolved quickly. I like how e-Builder Enterprise reports include all project management activities and display the overall business status of the project, completion percentages, financial elements, and much more. I like how e-Builder Enterprise functions as a database for all project submissions, allowing you to simply access or track them. We can use e-Builder Enterprise to organize submissions, requests for information, meeting minutes, and much more, allowing us to work more efficiently as a team. Cons The fact that it is connected to the cloud and has a fantastic user interface, I don't believe there are any negative aspects or technical issues. It all depends on the work team and how well they collaborate in order to take full advantage of all of the fantastic tools available in e-Builder Enterprise. Review Source HJ Hedaia J. It also attempted to increase team communication. Pros The collaborative feature of e-Builder Enterprise allowed us to efficiently manage the project contract, save all contract documents in an organized manner, and retrieve them when needed, as well as generate status reports that show the status of all documents, what was answered, when, and who is still stuck. Thus, e-Builder is a construction project management software that covers all aspects of a construction project, from planning to delivery. I prefer the start interface since it is clear and complete with all the tools I need, and the tabs make it easy to switch between functions. I loved the organized and comprehensive reports we can issue with him. Support on broken software is uncoordinated, and excruciatingly slow. Benefits were ones we realized a decade ago. pretty much staying the course at this point. It's too bad. Pros Highly customizable; easy to query data, schedule module, forecasting and cashflow tools are good. Cons You have to customize EVERYTHING; no commonly used forms like AGC or AIA; cost sheet is always live; can't look at the period close-data; schedule module is not fully integrated with the rest of the software; reporting has always been too cumbersome; support is slow. You have to monitor for basic functionality at least after each release; no channel based communication tools like Slack; no embedded electronic signature capabilities; they've jumped on the revenue bandwagon for adding on needed subscriptions for basic functionality, while not keeping up with where the industry has moved, particularly during the pandemic. Our company use to have weekly project meetings where we all got together to discuss statuses, budgets, important things however Ebuilder can store all that info in one place so we no longer to meet all the time. As a capital asset accountant one of my most used features is looking at all our project status updates from the project managers. I am able to quickly see if a project is complete in order to capitalize. Pros Ebuilder has helped our capital asset's team track and manage all construction projects on campus. It centralizes all of our project info. We are able to se the project's budget, start date, end date, status updates, documents, invoices, etc. There is even a thread people can write comments and questions and it will email out a message to everyone on the project so they can see. It's a huge time saver in our opinion! Cons One thing that I don't love about Ebuilder is that there a so many options on the dashboard it can be overwhelming and confusing. This may be able to adjusted based on your industry's preferences so it's not a huge deal. You have a good team of intelligent programmers and customer service providers. Having a road map and plan for the direction of the group is imperative and will keep the creative people focused on where the application needs to go. There are little bugs here and there in the system, or parts that do not function exactly as we want causing us to create work-arounds. Pros The interface is very intuitive, the modules are helpful and the functions are logical. We have had success in generating reports that executives can use to make strategic company-wide decisions as construction consumes the most capital resources available. Cons There are some functions and features that could be improved as they are starting to compete with other applications available. As an example we want to use the schedule module more but the Microsoft project application is much easier so we end up importing MS project files instead of generating the original project schedules in eBuilder. We want all-in-one most of the time but it would require integration with MS products or building a clone which we understand is time consuming and expensive. Review Source NL Nadja L. The cash flow curves are helpful in projecting the amounts that we plan on spending. The BI module is also very good, for most things. I like the features of the documents module, such as emailing files and sharing folders with non account holders. They also have a good support service. Cons Construction management can use some improvement. This includes improvement to the meeting module, daily reports and punch list. I've also seen issues with the schedule. Pros PO tracking abilities are good and the overall user interface is fairly straightforward. E--builder is not quite ready for prime time - we have submitted ideas to them for incorporation so the users have to make the product better. Who has the money/time to give a company ideas so that we can get charged for licensing while they benefit? Cons So many to list. The pricing is horrible for all of the software's limitations. As my title suggests, it is basically a very expensive file organizer. The scheduling platform is awkward, importing files into the file structures is not straightforward, image editing that you want to do and share with your users is very limited and I find that edit images outside of E-builder first and then import them, you cannot record all of your correspondence created within the software (i.e. a full copy of what you sent out to another user), the side layout menu and the top tab organization is not intuitive and you can get completely of one project and into another without realizing it, etc. I would write more but I have to finish making pdfs of files that I need to import into E-builder because I cannot create them within E-builder. Reports for day to day use are easy to set up, flexible and functional. Cons Schedule module is still clunky. Difficult to drawn data from across modules to create certain types of comprehensive reports. In some cases data must be downloaded to Excel and further manipulated to capture desired analysis. Licensing cost structure can make it cost prohibitive to include project team members outside of the Owner's staff and take full advantage of the collaborate potential of the software. All our documents are online and we longer have any filing cabinets whatsoever! Pros The software is super customizable. You can tailor it to work specifically with your workflow and business processes without the need to rewrite the software. Its reporting module is also customizable, and this allows to create reports to be used with super ease for meetings, projects status, schedules, etc... These reports allow to generate customized dashboards. Cons The submittal module can be improved but we created our own construction submittals module that meets our workflow needs. Reason for choosing Trimble e-Builder We chose it because ebuilder's team was very organized and it showed us clearly what we needed to get the job done. They weren't the least priced, but we chose them because the product is customizable. Review Source Similar Products Featured
