Credit Manager, North America Construction Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Excellent Risk Assessment Tool" May 23, 2024 5.0 Pros Ease of use, quick to access when I need to, excellent look-up features to find the firm I'm looking for. Cons Small thing, but in prior versions hitting would finish data entry. Now I have to mouse down to the "Submit" button, which takes extra time. Not a big concern, but I miss that functionality. Switched from [Experian Aperture Data Studio](https://www.capterra.com/p/199835/Aperture-Data-Studio/) We used that membership alongside D&B, solely for checking Canadian customers, for which they had a more robust set of records, and occasionally for smaller firms which we didn't find a D&B record. I am considering alternate options. Pros I like having the information provided- business scores, legal info ect. Cons Even though the trade payment and banking data is the most comprehensive available among all products considered, it still only shows a small picture of a company's true credit report. The only issue is when reaching out for help, it is a long wait for someone to respond and we came across an issue when our account was not active after payment was made. D&B was not available to access for over a month which delayed a lot of our clients accounts. Pros D&B is quick and easy to use. I use it daily to determine a companies financial stability and deciding how much credit would be issued. The reports show how a client pays overall and what the recommended amount should be. Cons The least thing I like is the search for customers. It is difficult to receive a report when an investigation is sent. The report may only show up a week later after the report is sent and the update cannot be seen for days later. Accounts are not updated as often as they should be. I once raised a ticket, but the answer was not clear. Cons The investigation function needs huge improvements. We can't filter or sort. we should have a dedicated portal for each username, or at least we can sort.And also, sometimes the investigation is done, but it takes several days to update the profile, which makes it even more confusing. We don't need to know the investigation is done, we need to know when the profile is updated.It would be great also if you can have a communication panel for each investigation, becoz sometimes the investigation is not comprehensive enough and we need to provide more evidence or information. Other than provide that information in previous investigation, we have to re-initiate a new one, that is very difficult for the overall tracking. We use it primarily to get a sense for the trade payables (Paydex), and the UCC and public filings. There are more tools, but we typically haven't used them. As the product offering has evolved, we are more aware of the tools, but we need to put the effort into including them into our underwriting process. Pros Dashboard is pretty complete, and includes aspects of the borrowing entity that we may not have. Cons Financial summary. I have found that the financial information provided by D&B is not very timely nor accurate. Reason for choosing D&B Finance Analytics 30 years of experience, and D&B is an industry standard. Cons I wish comapnies would use the Financial Statement reporting side more often, as this would be extremely usefulf for me in my ucrrent positon. If this information was there, I would do less customer contact regarding financial statements. This is one of the best tools I have access to, and it really has helped in my work. Pros I like how consistent D&B is. It has made my life so much more efficient with finding financial statistics on Companies. Cons The only thing I think could be improved would be how long it takes to download a report into PDF form.
