### "Good online banking platform"

February 17, 2023

4.0

It gets the job done and the cashback account is good value for money with lots of extra features.

Pros

Easy to use, accounts include staff cards which can be controlled easily within the app, can download statements through online web access.

Cons

Service outages and downtime getting more frequent recently. Cannot add functions access for a second \[sensitive content hidden\] in my company so can never take a day off from banking.

### "Easy to set up, user friendly"

November 9, 2022

5.0

Overall, they've been essential to me to setting up my business. I enjoy their services, but it is a pricey depending on the overall volume of monthly bank transfers. They do offer traditional monthly payment for a different type of account, which I'm considering as it may be cheaper than my current pay as you go.

Pros

It's extremely easy to set up. It took me about 5 minutes to get bank details, whereas traditional banks required loads of paper work to be mailed to set up an account over a matter of days. The phone app is really good, and the website is good too. Some banks have great apps but bad websites, but that's not the case with Tide. It's generally quite good.Tide integrates well with my accounting software (FreeAgent). I know they also integrate with Xero, Quickbooks, Sage, and others, but I've not used those. The "free" version of Tide is what I've always used. You pay as you go. This was an attractive option when I initially started, especially with very little trading. The charge is 20p per transaction (in & out).

Cons

Tide does not accept cheques. It's unlikely to be getting many paper cheques these days, but HMRC does mail a check if you've not uploaded your bank details. I always seem to struggle to find the bank statements in the app. It's not intuitive or particularly clear.20p to receive funds is expensive. I can understand making bank transfers out. With a high volume of bank transfers, it's probably worth considering other banks that only charge a flat fee.

Reason for choosing Tide

It was cheaper and easier to set up with Tide.

### "Unreliable Service from Tide Business Bank"

June 25, 2024

2.0

Pros

I strongly advise against relying on Tide Business Bank: Our business account was inexplicably put on hold at a critical time when we needed to pay salaries and receive payments. Despite our urgent attempts to contact their support team through calls and messages over three days, we received no response. The stress and frustration of not being able to fulfill financial obligations were overwhelming. Eventually, we discovered that the account hold was due to a routine check to confirm the nature of our business and the legitimacy of our payments – information we had already provided during account setup. This lapse in their internal processes caused significant disruption and could have been easily avoided. Their poor handling and lack of communication put our business at serious risk. I do not recommend Tide Business Bank for small businesses. The inability to access funds for several days can severely impact your operations and damage your business reputation.

Cons

Ease of Setting up and Invoices creating, Thats all as Tide blocks our account, and that overweight all cons.

### "I had an exceptional experience using Tide"

October 5, 2022

5.0

I absolutely loved it. Would recommend any small business or a startup to open an account with them.

Pros

I had a really great and fun experience speaking to the customer support team. They were really knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They managed to answer all my questions and helped me open my business bank account swiftly. Never would I have thought that opening a bank account can be this fun. I like the swift account opening process, instant payments and easy to use interface.

Cons

I didn't like the fact that the customer support takes a bit of time to respond to you but I understand that's because they have a lot of customers to deal with.

Reason for choosing Tide

Because it is the most renowned and has the best user interface, pricing and features.

### "Tide have deactivated my account without reason or warning"

May 7, 2024

Pros

Tide have deactivated my account without reason or warning, with hundreds of thousands of pounds in it. I've had to get a lawyer involved (at an additional cost). Stay away from Tide unless you want to lose all your money.

### "Decent option for self-employed or freelancers"

March 27, 2023

5.0

Tide is a decent option if you're self-employed or freelancing.

Pros

The ability to send out invoices directly from Tide is nice. Pricing is competitive vs alternatives such as PayPal. The app is really simple and easy to use.

Cons

Not "negative" as such - it's necessary for Tide to charge something - but it would be nice to see reduced fees.

### "A brilliant business account"

June 20, 2023

5.0

Tide is amazing, the app is easy to use and just gets better and better as they keep adding features. I was charged a fee by mistake and they rectified this before I got in touch with them.

Pros

It was easy to open my account (I was refused by another just because of my profession) The app is easy to use and they are very clear about fees.

Cons

Although you get fees with all business accounts, this is what I like least. The fees are very low but you do have fees if you want to transfer money into your account and you have fees taken off when you receive money

### "Definitely worth consideration"

October 24, 2022

5.0

Pros

The 20p per transfer is reasonable, depending on your plan, you might even have a large number of free transfers. I like that you can order expense accounts for free, even for your employees, if you have any. Customer service is competent and quick to help.

Cons

A lot of the services Tide provides are through third parties ( even the actual bank accounts) and when there is any kind of down-time, it can be very hard to get concrete information. While I understand the reasoning behind it, I am not a fan of only members on the higher-priced tiers being able to speak with customer support over the phone.
