We mainly use it to schedule our press releases to send outside of our normal work hours, but the database of journalists etc has also been very useful. The analytics provided really help us with analysing our performance. The support team behind the scenes have always been super helpful too :) Cons The only issue we've come across is that the notes made via one user account are not available to view when logged in to another user account. Definitely room for improvement on a few technical things (see above) but based on the recent database training I received it seems MediaHQ are actively working on improving the service and ‘story cycle’ and are very receptive to feedback from users. Pros The customer support is very fast and helpful, always ready to help on any queries I have no matter how big or small. I also like how varied the media contacts database is and that I have access to international news desks and journos as well as Irish ones. It makes building lists easy. Cons The searchability on the media containers database is sometimes poor and glitchy. I.e. I will search a name in the search bar and it won’t show up immediately, but then I search it a different day or via the browser extension on an article the journalist has written and it’ll show up. Also, sometimes the formatting when drafting press releases is tricky especially when I copy over from Microsoft word or other docs. The fonts will appear differently or spacing is slightly off, etc. Review Source CG Cathy G. Head of Communications Non-Profit Organization Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Good pruduct" February 22, 2023 4.0 Have used the product through the years - and features that were included in the MediaHQ when I started using the product 10 years ago are now are separated out and costed individually so it's getting more and more difficult to not feel price gouged. Training is a video and very little else. Useful to have influencers on the list hub too. Pros The list hub is a hugely useful resource. The product is really easy to use and scheduling of press releases is a very useful feature. The reporting tool is useful too. Cons There was no offer of integrating with an existing business product. Two step authentication is time consuming and not necessary. The list hub can be confusing. Lists can also be out of date - people have left, moved jobs or are not included. Title of people and where they work in large organisations would be useful. I got all my questions answered during training and follow-up was comprehensive. Pros It's a well-organised, practical tool with great user interface. Use options are clear on homepage and there is quick access to most features in less than 3 clicks. Cons A bit difficult at first to input own contacts in a quick way. It's a very useful tool for any communications professional. Pros The access to media contacts and constant updating is excellent. It's really easy to find and pitch the right person. Pros This platform makes it really easy to organize different media lists and helps to keep track of the various contacts we have for different types of press releases. The customer service was also extremely helpful and they were always open to any questions I had. Cons It can be confusing to navigate the website at first but MediaHQ ensure that help is always available to make sure this issue is dealt with swiftly. When looking for the correct personal it is very helpful and saves so much time than having to do this manually. Pros MediaHQ offers plenty of helpful features, but one standout advantage is the media contacts lists. These lists provide a comprehensive and up-to-date database of media professionals and journalists which proves to be a fantastic resource. The ability to search and breakdown these lists into subcategories enhances the usability further. This feature allows you to narrow down your outreach efforts to specific geographic regions for example. ensuring that my message reaches the right audience.Having access to accurate and organised media contact information makes all the difference in our campaigns. Cons One aspect that MediaHQ lacks is the absence of media monitoring capabilities. Unlike some competitors that combine media lists with media monitoring functionalities, MediaHQ focuses primarily on providing an extensive database of media contacts and outlets.While MediaHQ's main strength lies in its comprehensive media contacts lists and the ability to categorise them effectively, the absence of media monitoring is a slight limitation as this is what I would like to see. We issue a lot of comms, I would say more than the average brand, so it's crucial we're reaching the right audience on the right topics and the analytics are very useful so we can see the open rate and the journalists most likely to cover. There are additional useful features that we really enjoy like the news feed etc. Pros MediaHQ's interface and ease of use is its best feature. Compared to other tools in the market it's much more user friendly and more importantly the database is up-to-date. MediaHQ is continuously improving its features also which is great to see. Cons Sometimes it can lag whilst waiting on a page to load, but that's more to do with my impatience than a problem with the service itself! UK lists could probably do with some building out overall. Cons When trying to send a test email of a drafted press release, I think there should be an alert that comes up to say 'Your test email could not be sent because you have left a field blank.' However, if I have indeed left a field blank (which I have accidentally done a few times), it looks as if the test email has been sent and I'm then left wondering why it hasn't arrived. November 29, 2022 5.0 Seamless Pros I like how easy it is to use as that is the most important factor to me in any online tool. I was excited to hear of this tool as it gives charities like ourselves the resources to develop large amounts of media coverage without the costs of a PR agencies which is not within out budget to seek out. I like the segmented lists and number of contacts available in each industry to target for the best chance of success and I love the results we have had to date! Cons The search can be a bit slow but that is totally understandable with such a large amount of results on any website! So not so much a negative but just one of those things really.
