Cons Complexity, and sometimes there's some network-related setup that is not easy to detect that will make Consul to not work properly, and in such cases it is very difficult to determine the root cause Reasons for choosing HashiCorp Consul At the moment of implementing Service Discovery, it was the best solution for an on-premises setup. Plus being users of different Hashicorp products, the integration between those services is seamless. By creating templates we use it to get dynamic inventories for Ansible instead of static addresses.
