### "Strong stable software"

March 25, 2026

4.0

Carepatron is great solid software for my one man shop needs. It allows me to input notes and appointments are very easy to track and the financial side is very intuitive. It is a great product.

Pros

I really love the fact it is all online and has both a PC and phone app. Anytime I have needed support the FAQ or the support crew have been very helpful and informative. My clients appreciate the reminders and I like how easy it is for them to fill out the forms and it import into my records. As a one man shop, it is a great value for my needs presently.

Cons

I feel like the app has to be updated pretty frequently. There are some features I wish it was easier to request those items.

### "Efficient and Feature-Rich Platform with Occasional Glitches"

March 19, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with Carepatron has been quite positive. The platform is very convenient and makes it easy to manage day-to-day tasks like scheduling appointments and organizing client information. I especially appreciate how clearly client contacts are displayed and how easy it is to see who is responsible for each file. The AI scribe and note-taking features are excellent and save a significant amount of time. Another standout feature is the ability to reply to emails and messages directly within the app, which makes communication seamless and efficient. That said, there are some drawbacks. The platform can occasionally crash, which interrupts workflow. Notifications for both therapists and clients are sometimes delayed by several hours, which can be inconvenient. I also find myself having to regularly clear cookies and cache to keep things running smoothly, and even then, I occasionally encounter errors like “something isn’t right.” Despite these issues, Carepatron offers strong functionality and helpful features that make it a valuable tool overall.

Pros

What I like most about Carepatron is how convenient and easy it is to use. Scheduling appointments is seamless, and everything is well-organized in one place. The way client contacts are displayed, along with clear visibility of who is in charge of each file, is a very helpful feature. Additionally, the AI scribe and note-taking tools are excellent—they save time and make documentation much more efficient.

Cons

At times, Carepatron can be unreliable. The platform occasionally crashes, which disrupts workflow. Notifications for both therapists and clients can be significantly delayed—sometimes arriving hours later. Additionally, I often have to clear cookies and cache to resolve issues, and even then, I still encounter errors like “something isn’t right,” which can be frustrating.

Carepatron offers a more integrated experience, allowing me to manage scheduling, client records, treatment planning, and communication all within a single platform. Features like the AI scribe and the ability to reply to emails and messages directly within the app have significantly improved efficiency and reduced the need to use multiple tools.

### "Affordable, but reliability issues impact day-to-day use"

March 19, 2026

3.0

Our overall experience has been mixed. While Carepatron is cost-effective and offers the basic tools needed to run a practice, reliability has been a significant concern. The outages and recurring technical issues have impacted both client care and clinician efficiency. It may be a good option for those prioritizing affordability, but for practices that need a dependable, consistent platform—especially for telehealth—it may fall short.

Pros

Carepatron is very affordable compared to other EHR systems, which makes it appealing for growing group practices. The platform is relatively easy to learn, and it offers the core features needed to run a practice, including scheduling, documentation, and telehealth. For the price point, it provides a solid starting structure.

Cons

There are frequent bugs and ongoing minor issues that can disrupt workflow. More concerning, we’ve experienced multiple outages—including during telehealth sessions—which is extremely frustrating and unprofessional when working with clients. The system has also lagged or stopped working while completing notes. While support does respond, it often takes time for issues to be fully resolved, and it can feel like there are constant workarounds.

### "Affordable, Evolving, and Exactly What I Needed"

March 19, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Carepatron has been very positive. After an extensive search for the right EHR system, this platform has proven to be both reliable and efficient. It meets my operational needs, continues to improve, and provides a level of accessibility that is hard to find at this price point. I would absolutely recommend it to others looking for a practical and affordable solution

Pros

One of the biggest reasons I chose Carepatron was the affordability. As someone who spent a significant amount of time searching for an electronic health record system that was both cost-effective and functional, this platform truly met my needs. The value for money is exceptional. Beyond pricing, I really appreciate how the system continues to evolve and improve. I can clearly see updates being made regularly, and it shows that the company is actively investing in making the platform better for its users. The system is user-friendly, supports my workflow as a guardian and conservator, and allows me to maintain organized and compliant records for my clients.

Cons

The only area I would like to see improvement in is customer support availability. While I understand that many systems are moving toward automated or AI-based responses, there are times when having access to live support 24/7 would be extremely beneficial, especially when handling time-sensitive matters.

Reason for choosing Carepatron

### "Has a lot of potential "

March 25, 2026

4.0

I think it needs more time and I've looked at so many different EHR's. I like the AI assisted note on Upheal.io a lot better. Moving records is a large commitment and there is an onboarding process. I don't want to move, then move, and move again.

Pros

Carepatron is an amazing value for the money. It was easy to use on my end and it sync'd very well with Simple Practice and Google. I originally bought the subscription not realizing it was private pay. The appointments and booking link were very easy to embed. It was easy to transfer patient records. We waited for insurance beta testing was done and some clients agreed to test it out. The AI assisted dictation is simple to use and recording session has gotten better. They got appointment reminders easily. Customer Service is usually by email or scheduled meeting a few days out. I really enjoy the online forum of worksheets. I like the trainings offered

Cons

You do have to buy a separate license account per person using it. So if you have a biller and yourself, you buy 2. It's still less than Simple Practice. My main issue with it was my biller telling me how difficult it was to set up with the insurance companies. She told me that you had to be there when they called to set it up and the times were random. Another con is the AI work flows but partly was me. It was sending some things but you can't click out of them and must do all documents in order. I fixed it and then it still kept sending the wrong files. The measures are not self scoring yet, they said it's on the horizon

### "Easy to use"

March 25, 2026

3.0

I was disappointed to find out that Carepatron was still in very early stages of development when I first signed up. Quite a few features were not yet available and I still feel like I am looking at the very beginnings of what will be a great product in a two or three years time. Although support has been great and feedback has been welcomed, I am devastated I have committed to this system as it turns out it is too limited for what I need right now. I know somethings are in progress, and I appreciate software like this will always be a work in progress, but I would not have signed up had I known so many fetaures were in the pipeline and not yet completed. Perhaps Carepatron is better suited to sole operators rather than our organisation with 10+ staff and hundreds of clients and contacts.

Pros

User-friendly menu Intuitive client data entry Templates and forms Clean interface Easy to use for non-IT minded people Tags, team, status and view-flexibility in client section Custom fields for client info

Cons

Lack of notifications when new forms are completed, lack of flexibility about who gets notified and how Inability to score answers to questions in forms Great intake workflows but nothing for discharge Inability to generate and export easy statistics based on variables among clients (e.g. a graph based on status) or as a result of scored forms

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Carepatron

Cost, ease of roll-out, simple interface for staff training.

### "Great platform for a great price! Highly underrated, and people should pay more attention!"

March 24, 2026

5.0

I love Carepatron. At first, I was using it to test out the platform, just to see if I like it, but it has so much to offer, and it's very easy to use and access that I am sticking with it long term. I love the accessibility, that it has it's own app for phones as well as desktop, as I like the ability to quickly see my schedule, cancel/reschedule/or reply to messages on the go. On my desktop, I have the app, so I don't have to worry about toggling between browsers/tabs when working on other things simultaneously, as it has it's own window and place on my dock. I love the price point, and ability to completely customize anything and everything I want to use with my practice. I love that I can just make it "mine".

Pros

I love how versatile and easy to use Carepatron. I just started my own practice, and did a lot of research to find a platform that offered everything I needed, within a reasonable price point. I love how Carepatron offers a free version that you can use indefinitely, without a "trial" period, but even the most "premium" subscriptions that offer all the features, are WAY more affordable than ANY other platform I've seen. Carepatron has pretty much everything I need, it has an easy to use Calendar, where clients can book/request their own appointments (WHICH I LOVE), private secure chat, easy note taking with AI assistance (which saves me SO much time), and more. There are a few things that I wish it had that it doesn't, such as a general clinician dashboard for tracking overall appointments, documentation completion, client intake completion, tasks, and any other general data. However, with most things, I can just ask the AI assistant for help, and if that doesn't help, it will connect with me a live person to assist in my need. Very helpful!

Cons

Honestly, there isn't much I don't like, and the things that I find as an issue or inconvenience aren't really that big of a deal, and have work-arounds. For example, when creating or editing a note template to use, there is certain clinical data that I wish to pull from the client's chart into the note automatically. Please note, that it can pull demographics, dx code, and other data in from the chart, but more complex clinical things, like Treatment Goals, etc., are not pulled in. There are other things that I can't remember right now, however, like mentioned, they are small and easy to work around, so I'm not fretting over them.

Reason for choosing Carepatron

Carepatron was very easy to use, VERY affordable, and had an option for free that was not just a trial, which felt freeing and gave the option to try it out without pressure of a trial. It also has everything I need, such as internal Telehealth, AI notes, customizable notes, easy to use schedule, ability for clients to schedule, accessibility through an app, etc.

### "great for smaller groups"

good enough I will keep using it until we outgrow it. unfortunately it does seem like we will end up hitting a limit on how many providers we have before it becomes too much

Pros

Cons

### "Carepatron Review"

March 24, 2026

5.0

Our overall experience has been great. The team at Carepatron is very responsive and has been nothing but helpful as we've onboarded Users and Clients to the system and configured our workspace to meet the needs of our Team. I can't say enough positive things at this time.

Pros

We have been utilizing Carepatron as a Workspace system to support multiple types of roles including Clinicians and clinical support roles. We've found that Carepatron is very intuitive, easy to use, and contains tremendous value for the work we engage in. We've been able to easily onboard new Users and Clients and have received feedback about the system being simple to use and effective for our programmatic needs. We appreciate that the system is secure, and contains all of the necessary functions we need to ensure Clients and staff feel supported. We also appreciate the opportunity to build custom forms focused on our niche clinical offering for suicide prevention to support our clinical model. Customer support has been phenomenal.

Cons

We really enjoy the system thus far. There are always going to be improvements that can be made or opportunities for development, which would be where our largest "gripes" lie. While we pivotted from a more enterprise level system that was too much for our needs, honestly, the ability to customize workflows and some other functions is something we've been adjusting to as Carepatron continues to work on these development options that are forthcoming from what we're told. Other than us adjusting our workflows based on current limitations to the system, we've valued the opportunity to support Clients through Carepatron

### "Overall great and so helpful! Small fixes could make it perfect for our office."

March 24, 2026

4.0

Overall, it has helped the office a lot with keeping track of timesheets, patient notes, and intake paperwork. Having the capability of uploading our intake packets to make it into a fillable document has been extremely helpful - especially for the ones who are traveling from patient to patient as they do not have to find the time to get to the office for the paperwork anymore. We do wish there could be an option as listed above to change the statement of who signed what when filling out templates with patients, though.

Pros

Carepatron has made organization of scheduling and intake of new clients/records so much easier for our office. Before we started this, it was ALL paper still and this has made the OCD in me/office staff much happier. The clients also really enjoy and appreciate that they get reminders as well - which takes something off of my plate with less calls for confirmation.

Cons

We WISH there was a way to change the "signed by name/time" option to fit who is signing it. It only allows it to state the name of the employee whose profile it is being done in, rather than letting us change it to say certain portions are signed by the patient, not the employee. This is the BIGGEST obstacle we face, as some instances this will not be accepted as a valid signature and we will be penalized for it. The signature portion also always skips/moves the entire screen you are working on making it pretty difficult to sign - especially for our patients as we serve the elderly. Even the team has a hard time with it sometimes, leaving the signature looking crazy most of the time. Since we require signatures for state purposes and also for contracted work purposes, these signatures have been questioned before which adds a little stress.

Overall it has been a very pleasant experience compared to previous EHRS. We will continue to use it for awhile.

Pros

Very good value for the cost, and we hardly have any issues. It is very simple to use, so it does not take a lot of time getting used to things.

### "I like it!"

March 19, 2026

5.0

Overall, I enjoy using this platform. As I mentioned before, I am about to transition into private practice and I will still use Carepatron with my clients. I like that it automatically sends my client's their links and appointment reminders and you can create your availability for people to reschedule/request appointments.

Pros

CarePatron is easy to use! It has great features for a good price that I had to pay more with other platforms. It is easy to book appointments, manage them, and stay organized with various appointments (such as couples vs. individuals). It is also easy for me to keep up with all of my client's information and send them documents through the portal. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the various templates that are already uploaded to CP! I am about to transition into private practice and will be using CarePatron. I don't use all of the features just yet because for my job you don't have to, but I look forward to learning and exploring more! I have not used the customer support yet, but when I read reviews on Reddit, everyone had positive things to say about it.

Cons

For one of the practices I work for, we have had a few bugs. Either the cameras would not connect (and it was not because of our camera or internet) or it would seem like me and a client were waiting on each other to log in (although we were both actually logged in). There has also been an issue with some of my client's not being able to receive emails to create a portal. However, the pros for me still outweigh the cons. I still plan to use Carepatron.

### "Great option for small buisinesses"

March 19, 2026

5.0

Pros

I appreciate that I can schedule, invoice, and organize all my client documents in one place. Being able to do HiPPA video calls, have clients manage their own appointments, and utilize transcribing/AI makes it totally worth the money. I also really appreciate the template library and intake forms being sent to clients when they sign up.

Cons

I can't change the templates for emails that go out with invoices or appointments. The templates you can make have a limited ability to format and edit (so does not look as finely tuned as a pdf). The superbills are not functional for what I need so I end up doing those separately on my own.

Hi Alli, thank you for the detailed feedback (and for putting us through a proper free trial gauntlet against six other platforms)! Really glad the HIPAA video calls, AI transcription, template library, and client self-scheduling have been making it worthwhile. The points on email template customization, template formatting limitations, and superbill functionality are fair. These are areas we know matter for OTs and we've passed them along to the team. ### "Lifesaving management system"

March 19, 2026

5.0

I am really happy with this client management system. it has everything I need for private practice. It would be wonderful if the invoicing could somehow link in with HNRY.

Pros

I love how easy Carepatron is to navigate and use. It is great value compared to similar platforms that charge ridiculous amounts for the same functions. I am able to easily create templates for notes, electronic consent forms, emails etc. Clients really like the access to notes and appointment reminders. Customer service is top notch; friendly and quick responses.

Cons

Sometimes I am unable to access my client list which is frustrating when you need to access their details for a session. it is not happening as often now and customer usually get the issue resolved quickly.

Hi, Nicola! "Lifesaving" is high praise. Thank you, and we're so glad it's been working well for your practice! Really pleased to hear the features you need have all been hitting the mark. Noted on this client list issue, and we'll let the team know. The HNRY integration idea is also a great one. We'll pass that along to the product team.

### "CarePatron - a great choice!"

March 20, 2026

5.0

Overall, I am very happy with Carepatron as my EMR choice. I think it keeps my clinic up and running smoothly. Clients are also very happy with the portal and being able to access needed documents.

Pros

Includes a lot of the necessities like scheduling, chat or email messaging available, uploading attachments/photos, and diagnosing/chart fields. Easy to create templates and customize as needed. Appointment reminders are very much appreciated by my clients as well. Customer Support is very responsive and easy to reach. Reasonable price for how much value the system offers for administrative tasks. The client portal is a great feature for sharing documents!

Cons

Constantly needs refreshing to be updated and does not indicate if no longer saving (so sometimes causes changes on notes not to be saved while updating. Now I periodically copy to clipboard as I write the notes. I would also like the templates to be easier to add into the body of the note vs. having the template be a separate note.

### "Great Platform"

March 19, 2026

4.0

My overall experience with Carepatron has been mixed. It offers a lot of value, especially with the AI note-taking feature, which is excellent and saves time. The feedback tools are helpful, and the messaging feature works well for communication. However, the platform can be quite buggy. Pages tend to reload and shift unexpectedly, which disrupts workflow. The most frustrating issue is with call connectivity. There are times when both my client and I are in what should be the same session room using the same link, but we aren’t actually connected. It often requires multiple refreshes and reloading to finally join the same session, which can be disruptive to the therapeutic process.

Pros

They offer a lot of value, and the AI note-taking feature is especially great. The feedback tools are helpful, and the messaging feature works well too.

Cons

It’s been really buggy. Pages reload and shift quickly, which makes it hard to stay connected. The biggest issue is how the calls connect. I can be in a session room waiting, and my client is also waiting in what should be the same room, but we’re not actually connected. Even when we’re using the same link, I have to keep refreshing and reloading multiple times before we finally end up in the same session.

### "Choose ANYTHING else"

March 28, 2026

1.0

TERRIBLE. I will NEVER go back to Carepatron. Great concept, terrible execution, no knowledgable CSR. My practice lost money daily for missed sessions due to non working links and patients could never sign in. The quality of the virtual session was terrible, pixelated, sound quality was awful. The customization was great there were so many hidden features that were NOT gone over in the videos. We schedule with CSR to learn more and even they admitted "we are aware that these things are not covered in the videos. We will make additional videos eventually, but for now the best we can offer is to help you with the issue if you run into it". That is TERRIBLE business practice.

Pros

The customization allowed is incredible. So detailed, its like you created it yourself. Everything gets branded to your practice 100% and you set it up exactly how you want your personal EHR to operate.

Cons

NOTHING worked. CONSTANT glitches. Session links did not work. AI Scribe NEVER worked. Notes did not populate. Billing was a nightmare and always incorrect then did not have the capacity to correct it.

### "Only one little thing"

March 25, 2026

5.0

Overall we are very happy and Carepatron truly meets the needs of our business. I love that I have been able to customize it and that I can access it on the go but know the information is safe. I also love the customer service as they have been very responsive anytime I have had to ask a question.

Pros

I love the ease of setting it up and being able to customize it to exactly what we need. I think the value is good, even for a small company like ours. And I really appreciate the customer service.

Cons

There are some components we don't use and Id like to turn them off, which maybe I can, and just need to research it. The other big thing is that when I need to print off communications (such as for audit) I have to do each one by one. I have set it up so that we do a monthly entry and just add to it, but that is still 12+ different things to have to go in and print. It would be fantastic if we could just tell it to print all communications for a certain time period.

### "Continual Updates Make Me Happy"

March 19, 2026

5.0

Pros

I came to CarePatron, honestly, because it was cheaper than what I had before. I knew with “cheap” it could come with more challenging scenarios as a private practice owner and therapist, but I also liked the sound of saving money. At first, there were plenty of things that were different enough from my previous EHR that I began to get frustrated. I soon learned that it was a “me problem” not a them problem. I just was rigid to change and I continue to experience time and time again that carepatrons way is better. Since joining a year ago, I’ve continued to see new features published on the platform and improvements made incredibly quick.

Cons

The AI model that is used within the platform could use some work. I liked the sound of that feature, but when used in practice, it hallucinates quite a bit. There are plenty of other AI HIPAA compliant software out there for this not to be that big of a deal. With as fast as CarePatron moves in making changes to their platform, I’m sure I’ll look back at this critique and laugh.

### "FCC Review"

March 24, 2026

4.0

Overall, Carepatron has met our baseline needs. The price point was high for an NPO, but we would recommend it to others.

Pros

The value for money, unlimited clients without mark-up, and how the calendar is set up are all great pros of Carepatron.

Cons

Carepatron does not have a report system, no easy filtering, and split-payments are complicated. These can make administrative work very difficult for a center with multiple counselors.

### "Carepatron has what you need "

March 24, 2026

4.0

Carepatron has been easy to use and start up my chiropractic practice with. They have great customer service and very helpful with trouble shooting issues. The platform is versatile and customize able for EHR basic needs and uses for a small office.

Pros

Cost per month for what you get as well with each price point. I appreciate the appointment reminders and integration with google to keep my schedule precise. Sending and receiving forms is also easy to use with patient records.

Cons

Functionality can be slow and confusing to use at first. Sometimes the templates are very slow and will close randomly. Would be nice to have different template styles and formatting options.

### "Decent for a new practitioner in a small practice "

March 24, 2026

4.0

Overall, it's been a fair to good experience. Some disappointments but not enough at the moment to warrant searching out a new system and transferring records.

Pros

Carepatron is the only software I have used, so I have little to compare it to; but I have liked the streamlining of intake, automated appointment reminders, and the safe place to keep client notes and records. It is generally easy to use, though certainly easier on the laptop than mobile app.

Cons

I have been disappointed with the video conferencing platform and had to supplement with Zoom, which makes Carepatron LESS of a value for the money. I have a colleague--the one who told me originally about Carepatron-- who switched to Janeapp because of disappointment with Carepatron. Occasionally there are bugs or challenges. I have gotten responses from customer support, but they are not always timely.

### "Reliable and Affordable EMR"

March 24, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Carepatron has been positive. It’s a practical and accessible platform that supports the day-to-day needs of running a practice without feeling overwhelming. The system is easy to navigate, and features like appointment reminders and AI-supported Q&A help streamline workflows and save time. I’ve had a good enough experience that I’ve already referred two colleagues to start using it as well, which speaks to the value I see in the platform. While there are still areas for growth—especially for pediatric-focused use and more data-driven documentation—the overall reliability, affordability, and support make it a solid choice for clinicians looking for an efficient practice management solution.

Pros

I’ve had a positive experience with this product. The affordability really stands out—it offers great value without compromising quality. The AI Q&A feature is especially helpful for quickly finding answers and handling common issues, which saves a lot of time. When something isn’t fully resolved by the AI agent, the customer service team is responsive and steps in promptly to provide thorough support. I also appreciate the level of customization, which allows the system to be tailored to specific needs rather than feeling one-size-fits-all. The appointment reminder feature is another strong point ; it’s reliable, easy to use, and has helped reduce missed appointments. Overall, it’s a well-rounded product that combines efficiency, flexibility, and dependable customer support.

Cons

One limitation is that the platform feels more tailored toward adult clients. As a pediatric therapist, I often have to manually adjust names in emails, which can be time-consuming and less efficient. Additionally, the documentation features feel less data-driven than I would prefer for tracking progress. It would be very helpful to have stronger data collection tools and built-in data visualization features in the future to better support clinical decision-making.

### "Great for multi-tasking clinicians, but the AI leaves much to be desired."

March 21, 2026

3.0

Heidi Health is excellent for us busy clinicians with its multi-window functionality and icon indicators on the calendar for when a note has been written. I appreciate that the text fields retain formatting from word processors which adds to useability and universality. However, it's AI features and update interruptions make it frustrating to use all its features.

Pros

I appreciate the UI and the customization features. Scheduling appointments is easy, love the fact that I can have multiple notes open at once, very few glitches unlike other DHRs like SimplePractice. Making changes in appointments is easy, file upload is dead simple. UI personalization and customization is a nice touch for those of us that hate corporate-looking interfaces.

Cons

The AI is absolute garbage. While the transcription is mostly accurate, contextualization in notes even with dedicated "prompt engineering" leaves much to be desired. Sometimes notes will not just be written by the AI in a first person view... but specifically from the perspective of the patient. There are no scenarios where this would even remotely make sense. I have seen better contextualization from software like Heidi Health which is free. Furthermore, the AI transcription gets interrupted by updates to the software often.

Review Source

Response from Carepatron

March 25, 2026

Hi Ember, thank you for the detailed and specific feedback. The AI note contextualization issues are significant gaps that we take seriously. These will be going directly to the product team. ### "Bugs need to be worked out and better support"

March 19, 2026

3.0

Overall, while the price point is a strong benefit, the technical issues and lack of support significantly affect the overall experience.

Pros

Carepatron has been a cost-effective option, which is definitely its biggest advantage. The pricing is reasonable compared to other platforms, making it accessible for smaller or growing practices.

Cons

However, there are several issues that impact usability. I’ve experienced problems with data entered by clients not displaying correctly or consistently, which can be frustrating and time-consuming to troubleshoot. Additionally, the lack of a fixed telehealth link creates unnecessary inconvenience, as it would be much more efficient to have a consistent, reliable meeting setup. Another major concern is customer support. On multiple occasions, I’ve reported issues and have not received a response or follow-up, which makes it difficult to resolve problems in a timely manner.
