### "ThreatLocker, the dependable partner."

March 3, 2026

5.0

Pros

ThreatLocker is a major partner/vendor of ours, and for good reason; they are dependable and cutting-edge when it comes to their services.

Cons

Protection comes at a price, but the premium is worth the investment. They are very responsive and do regular updates.

### "Amazing Product - Shoutout to \[sensitive content hidden\] "

October 3, 2024

5.0

Fantastic, great product. Has increased our Security Posture business wide, has left me feeling so much more confident about the security of our infrastructure & endpoints.

Pros

First of all the Service provided by Threatlocker (In my case \[sensitive content hidden\] who is an excellent engineer - who really took the time to understand our needs and really understands the product). The implementation is always my worry with these types of tools, the implementation has been seamless due to the learning process. Combine \[sensitive content hidden\] on the implementation side with the Cyber Heroes quick response time this is a great end to end product.

Cons

Alerting on Threats, this is being really picky. But more specific alerting on threats with embedded information would be great.

Reason for choosing ThreatLocker

Threatlocker demonstrated stronger depth in terms of the team, i also enjoyed my experience with the sales person \[sensitive content hidden\]. I never felt like i was being miss sold. Everybody i dealt with has been responsive, the engagement felt personal. The product itself adds a ton of value to my business, but it also most importantly in comparison to other products doesn't try to be everything to everyone. A more focused approach in the software's scope of features allows for a more defined and thought feature set.

### "Good to be safe. "

August 17, 2025

5.0

I’ve had to re ask if I could open a website before because I was unaware that I had to type in a reason. So my request was just automatically denied but never was told to me it was. I waited a long time to be able to finish my work.

Pros

I like that I my computer software is constantly and consistently being monitored. I can do my work while it does it’s in the back ground.

Cons

Sometimes they are overly cautious or overly sensitive. But I suppose they know more of what’s out there in the cyber world.

### "Get on with it already"

December 8, 2025

5.0

It uses AI/ML based detection to identify advanced threats, so the really bad zero-day stuff is actually being identified prior to it causing damage. Our endpoints are running with healthy malware drag and we have fewer complaints from everyone in the watercooler. It's providing us a perfectly clear view into what our devices are doing 100% of the time, which is now million times easier than was before and we can instantly act on that data after doing a search instead of waiting an hour for it all to roll in.

Pros

Honestly, CrowdStrike Falcon really does work, which is a miracle. The agent is extremely lightweight, so you don’t even realize it is there, unlike the Trellix product we used in the past, which would completely bog down our systems. Thank God. Real time detection is the big draw here, it caught a suspicious PowerShell script running on an endpoint and we were able to see the full nasty timeline in real time. You have that one lightweight agent (which is a great thing) so you do not have a bunch of disjointed pieces to deal with and the fact that it is cloud based means your responses will be that much faster.

Cons

The management dashboard is a complete disaster, it is far too complex and I truly believe that new users will think they are reading a foreign language. How often do the marketplace apps for vendor integrations go out of date at exactly the moment you need them? I wasted an entire day trying to get an integration to work for a proof of concept because the app I was using was outdated, which is infuriating.

### "Awesome software with awesome support"

October 2, 2024

5.0

Pros

As an MSP, ThreatLocker is a major tool in our security stack. I have used\\tested a lot of security services in the past, but ThreatLocker is the best for the money I have found. It gives us a large amount of insight and control over devices which makes it hard to pick a favorite part about ThreatLocker. The product is awesome, but I really want to say my favorite part is the people behind it. You are assigned a Solutions Engineer to help guide you through the process of deployment/configuration. They are an amazing resource that I have never gotten with any other product. Usually, software companies just drop you into the portal, show you a few things, then you never hear from them again. Additionally, the support experience is the best I have ever seen with any software company. They are very knowledgeable, quick (under 5 minutes), and always available via chat. The MDR team also helps us have peace of mind that our devices are safe and secured with an action plan we set, even when we are away.

Cons

ThreatLocker is a robust solution. It can be very daunting to get started and comes with a time commitment to learn\\configure. I could see how some companies could struggle getting through that phase, but it is worth it.

### "Admins -- ThreatLocker will help you sleep better!"

October 14, 2024

5.0

Our overall experience has been excellent. We use ThreatLocker on all of our servers and as many user endpoints as we can. It stops users in their tracks from installing random software or extensions that we do not approve of in our organization.

Pros

\[sensitive content hidden\] on of the solutions engineers is super knowledgeable. He know his way around ThreatLocker like it was the back of his hand. I like how comprehensive it is and how much tweaking can be done for apps and other settings. ThreatLocker definitely helps me sleep better at night.

Cons

It is so comprehensive that it is a world unto itself, which means that it takes some learning to be able to make use of the tweaking.

### "Threatlocker, easier than everyone said it would be!"

October 29, 2024

5.0

Overall ThreatLocker has been a fantastic addition to our stack. Several MSPs warned me about the complexity of implementing TL properly, they were wrong. With the help of the Cyber Heros teams we've deployed it to over 2000 endpoints without any significant issues.

Pros

The depth of features, especially the elevation and storage control, and the rapid and detailed response from the SOC team.

Cons

### "Aegis Biz Tech ThreatLocker Review"

September 20, 2024

5.0

We're very new with the product, but so far it has everything I look for in that it is easy to deploy and manage and having Cyber Hero there to approve application requests means our staff doesn't have to take time away from other tasks to review those.

Pros

The interface is intuitive. I like the granularity of control over what we can allow deny. Deployment is easy with our RMM. Once I got the hang of it the management of it is very straight forward. Cyber Hero support is very responsive and helpful. Onboarding with Richard Dowdy has been great. He's been patient as we learn the product and explains things very clearly.

Cons

I suppose the initial learning curve. Although, it was not a big deal as we worked through it with Richard.

### "ThreatLocker - Answer to security augmentation for Microsoft Defender"

June 29, 2024

5.0

ThreatLocker has restored my faith in vendors who prioritize genuine value over sales. Amidst a market where PE Firms often push vendors towards aggressive sales tactics, reducing MSPs to mere extensions of their sales force, ThreatLocker stands out. Their commitment to value shines through exceptional support—knowledgeable and responsive, often resolving issues on the initial call. They're attentive to partner input, swiftly adapting their roadmap accordingly. Moreover, they adeptly address the unique demands of SMBs, MidMarket, and Enterprises, demonstrating their versatility and dedication to all sectors.

Pros

ThreatLocker distinguishes itself from typical MSP vendors by prioritizing integrity over trends. Through my interactions with them, I've gained trust in their commitment to being a steadfast ally in our cybersecurity efforts, acting as a vigilant guard against the proverbial fox (Defender) lurking near the hen house. Their 'default deny' strategy effectively removes false positives in SOC monitoring of EDR telemetry, providing peace of mind. Embracing this stringent approach ensures a more secure and restful night.

Cons

Adopting a default deny strategy was more transformative than I anticipated. The initial workload was surprising, but the value of Cyberhero support became clear quickly. For those considering this approach, I advise setting up regular weekly meetings to ensure diligent development of your initial policies. It’s a commitment that truly pays off in securing your environment.

The challenge of enhancing Microsoft Defender with multiple products was daunting due to the growing threat landscape and vendor overload. I sought a solution that could centralize Defender augmentation. ThreatLocker, with its default deny policy, not only reduces MDR costs by passing on the SOC savings but also provides the targeted support I needed to bolster Defender effectively with just one tool.

### "Security environment using threatLocker."

November 10, 2025

4.0

It ensures zero-trust machine security and scales efficiently to prevent unwanted actions, though modifying the production environment is complex and prone to access challenges.

Pros

1\. Easily identify vulnerable applications and block them. 2. The deployment of this security software is very simple. 3. It also offers a mobile app, making it convenient to respond to alerts.

Cons

1\. Making changes in an existing running environment is quite challenging. 2. The product has been observed to perform very slowly.

### "The best zero trust platform"

January 15, 2024

5.0

The help desk is fantastically responsive and professional. They always resolve the issue right away.

Pros

True zero trust access control. Fine-grained application, user, device, network port, and internet default deny.

Cons

I don’t like that the culture of system administrators is averse to this approach. You really have to teach them to accept the little friction that comes from needing to make a request before installing or updating any software.

Reason for choosing ThreatLocker

It was the perfect solution and the price was insanely low.

### "ThreatLocker is the way to go!"

June 3, 2024

5.0

Overall, we have had a fantastic experience with ThreatLocker. The software is solid and their team is fantastic to work with. The cost of this tool and the time to set it up is worth it. This tool gives us a fantastic peace of mind in environments we have it deployed in.

Pros

I love the security it provides with very little hassle for the end user. When properly setup, it adds safe boundaries for your client's systems to run in without a big hit to performance.

Cons

ThreatLocker is a complex tool with a lot of different moving parts. It's not plug-and-play, set it and forget it style tool. Your time is required to set it up properly and manage it. There is a large time commitment required up front. HOWEVER, ThreatLocker doesn't just sell to you and then drop you in the mess and charge you for their help like other companies. They provide regular check-ins with their support team to ensure our environment is running optimally. Also they have 24-7 support always ready to help us with any question about the service or best practices. They provide a university platform to train your team to run the software. It's not a set it and forget it product... but if you put in the work, the payoff is huge!

### "Application Allow Listing that actually works"

May 9, 2024

5.0

Overall, we've been incredibly happy with the product because I feel like it's really allowed us to tighten up the security on our network and gives us much better control over what software gets run on our network. Nothing is fool proof, but I feel like this product really has mitigated our risk of ransomware. It's also moved us much closer to Zero Trust.

Pros

I've looked into application allow listing several times in the course of my career, and it always seemed to be too difficult to do and require far too much management. ThreatLocker actually figured out how to do this in a way that works. It's still involved, but it's an incredibly well designed product that allows us to do application allow listing, privilege access management for applications, and network and storage control. We have a lot of applications that require admin rights to run (or to update), but with ThreatLocker we can manage which applications can run with elevated privileges and which can't. The application control ensures our users can't install any apps that we haven't approved, which makes it easier for us to ensure we have a consistent environment from user to user and also cuts down on shadow IT. It's really helped us move towards a more secure environment and to implement more elements of Zero Trust. It's an immense application with a lot of parts and that can be confusing and overwhelming at times, but their support is terrific. They claim to answer all support requests within a minute, and, so far, when we've needed support we've had someone in chat support within a minute. If the support incident requires more than chat support, it quickly gets escalated to a Zoom meeting (and by "quickly" I mean a matter of minutes). We also rely on our Solutions engineer a lot. He's always willing to carve out a meeting time where we can dig into particular aspects of the product and he can walk us through solutions and features in a way that helps us learn to better manage the product and it's features. All of the folks we've interacted with a ThreatLocker (our account manager, support, our solutions engineer, etc) have been terrific. They know the product is complicated, but they helped us to implement the product in a way that ensured we'd be successful. This isn't a company that sells you a product and walks away. They reach out on a regular basis, which makes me feel like we have a partner in them and not just a software vendor. I also like ThreatLocker University (their training site) because it has a ton of good content that's targeted to specific parts of the product and is normally broken into 20-30 minute training sessions, so you can do a deep dive into a single area in a short amount of time. I use it a lot if I need a quick refresher on how to manage a feature.

Cons

It's an incredibly complex product and it can be overwhelming sometimes. It also does require a fair amount of maintenance. The maintenance goes down with some time and fine tuning, but it will never be a product where you set it and forget it. But I think the company is aware of that which is why they've built a strong and quick to respond support organization,

### "It's key to securing an enviorment"

May 28, 2024

It was easy to deploy and work with the Threatlocker team to make sure everything was setup for all of our clients and all their hosts secured.

Pros

It's core ability to lock down an environment. Controlling what can be installed or used on key systems is critical in my eyes to ensure a company is protected.

Cons

There is some work to stress the importance of securing a system to clients, but once they understand the benefit the product they gladly help with the process.

### "ThreatLocker"

May 8, 2024

Overall, dealing with ThreatLocker has been fantastic. This is largely due to them having the best support I have ever experienced with a software vendor. We have encountered small issues along the way but ThreatLocker are always quick to respond and come up with a solution.

Pros

Easy to deploy. Possibly the best support I have ever received from a software vendor. Elevation Control and Application Control are both fantastic. Constantly evolving.

Cons

ThreatLocker is constantly evolving which is fantastic however this can sometimes result in some unpredictability. Their support team is usually right on it though and it is a small price to pay for the improvements that are made on a regular basis.

### "Still new, but having a good experience"

May 9, 2024

5.0

Pros

I would like to preface this by saying that I am still fairly new to ThreatLocker. However, I have had a very positive experience both in onboarding with \[sensitive content hidden\] and the application itself. So far, the most used case has been managing application installs for users, which has mostly been effortless.

Cons

The only negative experience I've had so far has been when an application was updated, but ThreatLocker saw this application as a new one post-update. This was mostly a minor inconvenience and methods to make the application accessible to the entire organization again were shared when I brought this up with my representative.

### "ThreatLocker is an invaluable tool and incredible company"

March 23, 2023

5.0

From my initial conversations with the team at ThreatLocker, to on-boarding, roll-out and ongoing support, it has been one of the most pleasant vendor experiences I have had in a really longtime.

Pros

There are new threats coming out daily. ThreatLocker helps add an important layer of security and brings system one step closer to protection from these new threats. ZeroTrust is not a new concept but ThreatLocker made it accessible to all businesses, big or small. I also have to say that the team at ThreatLocker have been amazing to work with and I wish other vendors would be as partner support focused.

Cons

Honestly there are not a ton of cons. The process to implement ZeroTrust can be a bit more involved than most realize, and ThreatLocker does have some of those challenges too. However the platform is designed in a way and has features to help streamline that process and end user experience. Backed by amazing support.

### "Best customer service of any platform."

June 26, 2023

No issues so far, and when an issue does arise, the support are there instantly to help. No bots, just people.

Pros

The software is incredible, but what is better is the customer support. From the moment you pop a message in to the live chat, you will be speaking to someone within 30 seconds, and can even hop in a Zoom call if that is better for the issue at hand. Phenomenal.

Cons

The wording of some of the features could be reworked / explained better. For example removing the protection from a device isn't just a case of highlighting the asset and pressing "delete" or "disable protection". Neither of these features actually remove the protection.

### "A great product for complete piece of mind."

February 13, 2024

5.0

Overall, my experience with ThreatLocker has been excellent. It's easy to use with fantastic support. It gives our company complete piece of mind that nothing will run on our endpoints unless it has been approved.

Pros

What I like the most is the ThreatLocker support, it's excellent! Most of my questions have been answered through the university or the help page. Both are fantastic tools. That being said, if I can't find what I need, I message the Cyber Heroes, they respond almost instantly. They're very polite, knowledgeable and follow the problem through until you're happy to close the ticket. It's nice to know that if you're stuck or unsure, someone has your back.

Cons

I find that sometimes ThreatLocker doesn’t always elevate an application when it has been set on approval. This is an intermittent issue that I need to raise with the TreatLocker team when it happens again. I am sure it is an easy fix and I know the Cyber Heroes will be happy to look into. This is the only thing that I can think of that is negative.

### "This is how MSP's sleep at night"

September 26, 2022

5.0

The product training and onboarding is exceptional. ThreatLocker goes the extra mile to be sure you understand the product and are deploying it successfully. The software works. It will stop anything and everything that either isn't allowed to run or it doesn't recognize.

Pros

There isn't anything about ThreatLocker I don't like. From the Ring Fencing to Allow Listing to Elevation control, it keeps users from doing things they shouldn't be while allowing what you need to run, run. I sleep at night knowing that some random software can't run on a client environment and cause an incident.

Cons

Threatlocker is not a set it and forget it product. They can however use their internal CyberHero's to make it easier for you. It's just an extra cost.

### "Threatlocker - Helping MSP's sleep at night"

January 27, 2020

Application Whitelisting and Data Audit in one package - the 'deny or authorise' file copy to a USB drive is a silver bullet for firms concerned with sales staff leaving with their client list - this feature has given transparency on who is looking at what for many of our clients. The Whitelist means ransomware cannot run in a client network - couple this with Ringfencing and you have a very powerful data protection suite.

Pros

Very easy to use, stunningly effective, outstanding value for money and features keep getting added!

Cons

Can cause friction with users that have previously been used to being able to 'just do anything on my PC' however this is true of any security product that restricts prior (risky) functionality. Not sure how this fits in Cons, but its the issue we have to manage most often.

At first it's a bit overwhelming to look at the audit logs and seeing all of the DLL and items that are being audited, doing it alone would be daunting but having the Threat Locker Help Desk team and onboarding team walking you thru made the process much easier, highly suggest taking enough dedicated time for the setup and onboarding clients. if you have an internal team make sure to have them on the calls.
