We use it as part of our outbound sales automation to scrape websites and extract practical signals like where traffic seems to come from and which languages a site is available in, and it has been consistently reliable. It removes a lot of the usual scraping headaches around proxies, blocks, and rendering, which means we can focus on using the data rather than fighting with the setup. It feels stable, well thought out, and easy to integrate, and it has scaled nicely as our usage has grown. It is not flashy, but it does exactly what it promises, which is honestly what you want from a scraping service. Pros It is easy to use and has the features we needed to build our tool. Best price on market. Very reliable and easy to integrate, it saves us time by handling blocks and rendering so we can focus on the data. Cons If I have to mention something it would be, that the documentation could be more detailed in some edge cases, and debugging failed requests sometimes requires a bit of trial and error. Pros good value. excellent support. i primarily use the scraping. i particularly like the extraction (css, xpath) feature, because with this extraction i dont have to do my own DOM. Cons there is a learning curve. and documentation is bulky takes a day to a week to read through. they should have provided an AI feature on documentation which could build query / fetch requests. also they do not provide examples in javascript, which is what i use. the examples are in python, cURL etc. Alternatives considered [ScrapingAnt](https://www.capterra.com/p/214735/ScrapingAnt/) Reason for choosing ScrapingBee i considered scrapingdog, but it is not on the list. scrapingbee looked ok. i did not have strong reasons then to choose, since i needed to migrate out and desperately needed a tool. Pros ScrapingBee has been extremely reliable in production and is a core piece of our Bubble app. It allows us to consistently scrape client websites, pass that data into our AI assistant, and generate highly customized outputs at scale. The API is straightforward, the results are clean, and it handles real-world sites far better than most alternatives we tested. On top of that, their support team is excellent—fast responses, clear explanations, and they went above and beyond to help us. Cons Honestly very little. I’ve used the service for a dozen or so personal and private scraping projects big and small. ScrapingBee enables me to scrape more sites quicker, instead of focusing on coding around WAFs and rate limits. Pros I like how easily I can get started scraping with ScrapingBee. Their basic proxy network is fantastic. I’ve had to use the JS rendering and the advanced proxy only once but it performed really well. Cons I find the credit system fair but easy to misuse. I left on JS rendering when it didn’t need to be and ate through a bunch of credits. That was on me but it was easy to do, though their API explorer estimates credit usage well enough. January 27, 2024 5.0 Pros I set up ScrapingBee to rotate proxy IP addresses when scraping tens of thousands of pages from search engines and eCommerce websites. These are typically more difficult to scrape, but even the cheaper rotating proxies on ScrapingBee have rarely been blocked. If they are (occasionally) blocked, I only pay for successful returns, so I have not encountered any downside. Cons I have only had one issue where ScrapingBee accidentally assigned proxies from the wrong country, rendering my html in a different language. But this was a brief issue and has never happened since. Switched from [Octoparse](https://www.capterra.com/p/150508/Octoparse/) I wanted something with an API and reliable rotating proxies. Pros It just works: and its parsing meta-language is wonderfully powerful. Most importantly, the support I've received has been superlative: in my first attempt to implement a parser (using the meta-language) I failed, and a support engineer wrote the whole parser for me. Then I realised the scraping API was missing a really useful parameter: the support engineer updated the API to add the missing parameter (and generically so it supports all available parameters) within about 48 hours. It almost feels like Scraping Bee's support engineers are on my own team! Cons Nothing missing for me. I can't think of any downsides. I haven't had this success rate, and this isn't my first webscraping vendor. I'm never going anywhere else. Cons I would love a bit more documentation in the errors. We wanted to be able to send our HTTP requests to a service that could handle all of the security issues related to web data extraction, and then return the raw results of the HTTP request. The service has to be virtually invisable to our processes. Scraping Bee is the perfect Black Box solution. In addition to the ease of implementation we needed a highly reliable service with great technical support. Our data collection processes run 24/7 and Scraping Bee is a great partner.
