### "Our team likes BuildOps"

March 19, 2026

5.0

Very good experience. Easy to create an invoice from a job or just a simple invoice for a cash sale. Tech support and training are second to none!

Pros

Easy to use and implement. Sync's well with QB's desktop. Good job and time management. Allows us to send invoices the day after the job is completed

Cons

Would be nice if it could have a bill reader to add costs to jobs Also it would be good if BuildOps would allow us to to do price adjustments by importing updated pricing instead of going through the data team

### "Overly complicated and costly"

April 14, 2026

3.0

We have been with Buildops for 2 years and there are many aspects of the software that are still cumbersome and overly complicated. I would like if they could make the software more customizable for the customer, simplify for customers that don't need all the details (smaller companies)

Pros

The ease of invoicing with the autocorrection of the invoice summary. It helps to explain in layman's terms that is easy to understanding for the AP department.

Cons

Cost-very expensive Overcomplication of service contracts and seeing pricing Lots of steps for PO's, entering the service contracts, and adding new job/visits Profitability is difficult to determine on contracts

### "The good the bad the ugly"

April 20, 2026

OVerall I would say a vast improvement from what we had. There are alot of improvements that can be made still.

Pros

when inputting data from the web, how quickly it updates across the whole data base and the app. Within seconds

Cons

The onboarding process was very rough. When entering assets from the app, it can take a long time to load. almost not worth doing while onsite for walk throughs. Not being able to quote PM contracts in the software

### "Project Manager"

April 20, 2026

4.0

It's been good. I have seen improvements over the last 2 years that I have worked with it. I have seen one or two of my suggestions implemented.

Pros

Project forecasting is a big plus for us. I also like some of the customer reports we have created for us.

Cons

The tasks functionality needs work. It's basically unusable as it sits. We also do not have a good way to print or export an individual job's forecast. There are a number of pages I have stumbled on that create a table with no way to print or export the data. I would think this functionality would be easy to add. I also think that you should create a self-service web page that allows users to submit a support ticket rather than having to use your phone center. The last time I called, I got the impression that it has been relocated to south Asia?

### "BuildOps is the best software I've worked with."

April 14, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with BuildOps has been positive. It has significantly improved our ability to manage service operations, track jobs, and streamline invoicing in one centralized system. While there is a learning curve and occasional system quirks, particularly around updates and syncing with QuickBooks Online, the efficiencies gained in visibility, organization, and billing workflows have made it a valuable tool for our business.

Pros

We’ve been using BuildOps as our primary platform for service management, invoicing, and operational tracking, and overall it has been a strong system for a commercial HVAC/R business like ours. Value for Money BuildOps delivers solid value, particularly for companies managing high volumes of service work and invoicing. The ability to centralize dispatching, job tracking, invoicing, and reporting in one platform reduces the need for multiple systems. That said, the cost may feel high for smaller teams or those not fully utilizing all modules. Learning Curve There is definitely a learning curve. The system is robust, and getting everything configured correctly—especially syncing workflows between operations and accounting—takes time. However, once users are trained (BuildOps Academy was helpful), the efficiency gains are noticeable. Ongoing support and training resources make a difference. Security BuildOps appears to follow standard security practices with role-based permissions and controlled access. From an administrative standpoint, it allows us to limit visibility and access appropriately across departments, which is important for financial and operational data integrity. Invoicing This is one of the stronger areas. Invoicing is streamlined from job completion through billing, and it integrates well with accounting systems like QuickBooks Online. The ability to generate, proof, and distribute invoices efficiently has significantly improved our billing workflow. Some edge cases (like tax inconsistencies or invoice status syncing) can require troubleshooting. Tracking Job tracking, technician activity, and service history are all well-documented within the system. It provides strong visibility into job progress, which helps both operations and accounting stay aligned. Reporting is useful, though sometimes requires manual validation when reconciling with accounting data. Payment Processing Payment tracking is effective, and integration with credit card and EFT processing helps streamline collections. However, reconciliation between BuildOps and accounting systems can occasionally require extra attention to ensure totals align perfectly. Project Management For service-based work, BuildOps performs well in managing jobs, scheduling, and workflows. It may be less robust for large-scale project management compared to dedicated construction/project software, but for service operations, it covers the essentials effectively. Overall BuildOps is a powerful, all-in-one platform best suited for mid-sized to large service companies that want to consolidate operations and improve visibility across departments. While there are occasional quirks and a learning curve upfront, the long-term efficiency and organization it brings to service and billing workflows make it a worthwhile investment.

Cons

One of the more challenging aspects is when system updates or changes are made during working hours. These can disrupt workflows, especially in accounting and invoicing where timing and consistency are critical. Additionally, some updates feel like they could benefit from more thorough beta testing before being released, as occasional issues or inconsistencies arise that require extra time to troubleshoot. Advance notice and more off-hours deployments would help minimize these disruptions.

### "BuildOps works well enough for our team"

March 26, 2026

5.0

It groups most of the business in one software that’s an improvement over the jumbled mess we had on hand and it also prevents customers and photos from getting lost across a dozen apps.

Pros

The site visits on the work orders are good enough for what they're doing. \[sensitive content hidden\] is actually helpful when i cant find a button which happens a lot. I use the templates. They're okay when i'm tired of tying the same stuff over and over again as long as the system doesn't freeze up.

Cons

Quickbook syncing is a pain. Waiting however for the first time, weeks to see the names of people who signed (happened only once).

### "Does the job"

April 14, 2026

3.0

We've been using BuildOps at EM Duggan and overall it's been a solid addition to our workflow. It does exactly what it's supposed to do — keeping our jobs organised, our teams connected, and our scheduling on track. Nothing flashy, but it gets the job done reliably day to day. The interface is straightforward enough for the team to pick up without too much hassle, and having everything in one place has made things noticeably smoother compared to how we managed things before. It's not without its quirks, but for a company like ours it covers the bases we need. Would recommend it to other contractors looking for a dependable field management platform.

Pros

quote generation and sending quotes is easy. I would like to see an automation addition to that function though. it would make life much easier

Cons

reporting functions need work to help with clarity need more crm functions - it is difficult to search a person or property

April 17, 2026

5.0

Overall, I like buildops, even though it could be improved. It's easy to use, and I learned how to use it quickly when I first started working at my job. The only issues I have is the customer service from buildops and when it gets really slow sometimes.

Pros

I like how buildops is easy to navigate through and nicely organized for me to use. I can move through everything quickly while multitasking with my emails.

Cons

Sometimes it can lag, and customer support can be better. I feel like it takes several days for an issue to be resolved. A year or two ago, it was easier to get a hold of somebody through a phone call.

### "Started Bad getting better"

January 15, 2025

4.0

The on boarding was a horrible experience with our initial implementation team. Once we were assigned \[sensitive content hidden\] things have become so much better, they both went above and beyond to fix the many issues we were experiencing.

Pros

It is user friendly and has many options and always updating with new things. The customer support we receive from \[sensitive content hidden\] is also a huge help to us.

Cons

Too many steps to create a Purchase Order. Having to add the same property multiple times for each customer. We have multiple customers that will send us to the same property and we have to add the same property. It would be great if the property was created once so all the history of the property from the different customers would show up for our technicians to see.

### "BuildOps honest review"

August 16, 2024

4.0

Overall I am very happy with BuildOps. It is a very intuitive system to use and just "makes sense". The customer support has been absolutely phenomenal. I always get a real person on the phone when I call. When I email, I get a response back usually within a couple of hours. If there is an issue that requires a little research, they regularly email me with updates. I only have one gripe that has been consistent - there are times during the day, usually in the morning, where it can take several seconds for a page to completely load, sometimes requiring a refresh of the page. It is not a deal breaker, and I am not 100% sure I can pin it on BO and not my ISP, firewall, or other internal issue. It does get frustrating when I am on the phone with a customer or tech and have to wait for pages to load. I highly recommend BuildOps to a service/trade company whose business model would benefit from a job tracking program.

Pros

Easy software to navigate and use efficiently

Cons

Occasional slow page load times requiring refresh

Pros

BuildOps is extremely configurable - features can be turned on and off at the company level or the user level to obtain the optimal system and workflow both for the organization and each person within the organization. The support from BuildOps to help us set everything up initially and make changes as we need them has been phenomenal.

Cons

The cost of BuildOps was significantly higher than our previous field management software provider, and that initially turned us off, but it has turned out to be a terrific investment with an excellent ROI.

### "BuildOps Review from Dane Electric."

July 2, 2024

5.0

It took a bit to get our previous system transitioned over but since then - we have been very pleased. Our biggest hesitation was how our field guys would feel about the change. They were apprehensive at first but after a few weeks they have appreciated the change and are excited with how new things keep coming out. It seems to get better and better the more you educate yourself with the depth of the system.

Pros

The ease of use in all aspects is what drew us to their system. They have covered all the bases when it comes to a complete dispatching, project managing, quoting, customer retention, and invoice system.

Cons

We have yet to find something that we are not happy with or that we are not able to get the support we need to get it to work for us.

5.0

To date, we are satisfied with implementing BuildOps. It is taking some time for the entire company to get used to it. Especially the mobile users. BuildOps has provided fantastic customer service and has been very patient with us.

Pros

BuildOps allows us to track Service Jobs and Construction Projects in one platform. The dispatch board allows for all technicians' schedule in one place. Live job costing and tracking is great!

Cons

There is no way to schedule in subcontractors without using a "non-billable" event or creating a false project visit. Syncing errors can be troublesome.

### "The most valuable tool"

November 28, 2023

5.0

BuildOps is a great partner. Everyone we've worked with so far has been extremely helpful and knowledgable about the product. We couldn't be more happy with choosing BuildOps.

Pros

Being that this was our third service software, we wanted to be positive that this was the right fit before signing up. The sales team was very honest from the beginning, which we really appreciated. They took more of a consultant role showing us what features would greatly help us and also explained some of the features that may not work for us. Once we were comfortable moving forward, the implementation team took over, and guided us through setting everything up for success. The implementation process was miles ahead of the other companies we worked with. We got many training sessions, and a dedicated person to manage our implementation of the product. Implementation took a couple months to get everything set up, as well as get us trained since the software has so many features and is extremely customizable, but it was well worth the wait. We have now been live with the software for about 2 months. We have streamlined our operations in nearly every aspect in just a couple months. The amount of time saved from avoiding double entry in Quickbooks online is huge. The software has everything we need (and a lot more), and it just works. It's hard to believe we worked any other way at this point.

Cons

No real cons so far. There has been a couple minor hiccups since we've started but tech support always responded extremly quick and got the issues resolved.

### "BuildOps offers great features to help managet Techs and projects"

July 17, 2023

5.0

Overall, BuildOps seems very adaptable to our needs. Tech Support is readily available to assist with issues that mostly turn out to be user error. BuildOps allows us to make suggestions to their Development Team. These suggestions can make what we consider improvements or new features to the system to allow us to operate the software more efficiently.

Pros

BuildOps allows us to see the status of the Field Techs live and at a glance. We can better manage our staff as it is not difficult to see total hours worked in a week by individual. Quoting is very customizable and adaptive to our needs.

Cons

There are some issues that we, as new users of the system, need to work out and those can be challenging. But those issues are more due to our Company's learning curve than a problem with Build Ops

### "Commercial HVAC Review"

July 25, 2023

4.0

Overall a great system that has improved our company's recordkeeping accuracy and helped our business take on additional customers with ease. The issues we have are typically minor and can be worked around or ignored when necessary. The BuildOps team is always open to suggestions and does work to put them onto future software releases when enough of their customers are interested. BuildOps is the best commercial-focused software on the market.

Pros

BuildOps has been great for improving our workflows, recordkeeping, and reporting. Fairly easy for technicians to learn the mobile app and it has greatly improved communication between technicians and the office. It has also reduced our lag time between job completion and customer invoicing.

Cons

Some areas of functionality where users with full permissions cannot edit basic things can be frustrating. For example, the inability to delete a job that's been created in error and the only option available is to cancel the job and leave it in the system. Same inability to delete a visit, a PO, an invoice, or a quote. Most other issues are fairly minor, like sorting a list of Assets (i.e. RTUs on a property) will not sort them numerically or there being limits on the invoice layout options.

We are very happy with the support we receive from the BuildOps staff. They have have been extremely helpful.

Pros

I like the one stop shop convenience. I also like that I am able to bill immediately after a task is completed and not have to wait for the forms to make it to the office.

Cons

The only con I have is that our waivers are not fillable from invoicing.

### "Robust, Customizable, and Great to Work With"

September 11, 2023

5.0

BuildOps allowed and supported us to move from the early 2000s to the current decade. We had a large jump to make - from dirty and data to implementing a new accounting software at the same time - and BuildOps' implementation manager put in long hours to make sure we could hit the ground running at launch. Then, their success manager has continued to make sure we can get up to speed and effectively use the tools BuildOps has to offer, as well as prepare us for new features as they roll out.

Pros

As a service/construction hybrid company, we need software that is both comprehensive and flexible. BuildOps allows us to maintain separate records for customers and associated properties/sites, schedule and manage our workforce, and organize our service and construction accounting. BuildOps can build and generate custom documents, including forms, quotes, invoices, service agreements, and purchase orders with intuitive editing tools. The search bar is "smart" and capable of finding almost every piece of information entered in the system, from partial addresses to phrases mentioned in notes. The dispatch board is intuitive, clear, and easy to update. With the large amount of customization available, my favorite feature is BuildOps' ability (on PC) to filter most information and to save them as views for each user's needs. The filters function similar to those in Excel tables, and are able to compound. This allows us to create wide overviews for a whole section of our business or narrow views to manage specific workflows. As I have only used BuildOps for a few months, I feel that I only have more to look forward to as I continue to explore its capabilities.

Cons

My main gripe with BuildOps is that it is a young software. Despite the fact that BuildOps has most features we need, there are times where I find features that need to be expanded or streamlined. For example, mobile dispatch can not search for customer or job information, site assets are not bulk import-able, and service agreements take a lot of fine tuning. However, BuildOps is growing and improving all aspects rapidly. Within just a few months, BuildOps has implemented multiple improvements and squashed many bugs we presented.
