### "Powerful tool for managing development tasks and team collaboration"

April 17, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Jira has been very positive. It is a reliable platform for managing development tasks and keeping teams aligned on ongoing work. In our daily workflow, Jira helps us track bugs, manage feature development, and organize tasks across the team. Having everything documented in tickets makes it easier to follow progress and maintain transparency in the development process. Once you get familiar with the interface, it becomes a very effective tool for coordinating work and keeping projects organized.

Pros

What I like most about Jira is how powerful it is for managing tasks and tracking development work. At NextDay, it helps organize issues, bugs, and feature requests in a structured way so the whole team can clearly see what needs to be done and what is currently in progress. The ability to create tickets, assign them to teammates, and track progress through boards makes collaboration much easier. I also like how flexible it is, since workflows, boards, and fields can be customized to match the team’s development process.

Cons

One downside is that Jira can feel a bit complex, especially for new users who are not familiar with project management tools. There are many configuration options and features, which is powerful but can sometimes make the interface feel overwhelming at first. Some tasks that should be simple, like configuring workflows or searching for certain issues, can take a bit of time to learn.

### "Robust interface and variety of available tools"

We are looking to transfer some of our functionality from ServiceNow to Jira and it seems to be working fine so far.

Pros

Its easy to use interface and available marketplace apps make integration easy and utilization at the highest level

Cons

Support from the vendor can sometimes be challenging as we go through the changes that the enterprise requires

### "Steady but not ground breaking "

May 1, 2026

3.0

Pleasant in that when it's used for how its designed, you largely get what you need. Too many people try to pitch Jira as a portfolio tool or use it for non-software deliverables and it just doesn't work from my point of view.

Pros

Jira is great as a software development tool which is what its primary design it. The functionality aligns perfectly to teams working in an Agile way.

Cons

Jira is very rigid with limited options to customise & it's hard to get a true portfolio view of multiple deliverables.

### "Powerful Project Control , Once you master the Complexity"

February 3, 2026

5.0

Jira is powerful tool and keeps everything organized , though it takes little time to get comfortable honestly , because of its complexity , but once set up , managing tasks , team or projects becomes smooth and visible.

Pros

Jira is bit pricey , but the value for money you get for tracking projects and teams is worth it. Customer support is helpful , though sometimes responses take a little patience. It can feel complex at first , but once you get the hang of it , task management becomes smooth. Collaborating on the projects and keeping everyone on the same page is seamless with boards and dashboards. Creating the visual workflows or diagrams is a breeze , making team planning and progress super clear.

Cons

Jira can feel overwhelming at first with so many menus and options . Setting up workflows or boards takes time, especially if you are not tech savvy. Occasionally , small changes require multiple clicks , which can slow things down.

Trello was also good but it lacked advanced tracking , dashboards and reporting needed to manage multiple students , companies and placement workflows efficiently . Jira has been my all in one solution.

### "A Powerful Tool for Structured Support and Project Management"

April 23, 2026

5.0

Overall, Jira has been a reliable and essential tool in my day‑to‑day work as a Technical Product Support Coordinator. It allows me to manage customer issues efficiently, collaborate with developers, and maintain clear audit trails for every task. Once configured properly, it significantly improves team coordination and transparency. Despite the complexity, the benefits outweigh the challenges, and it remains one of the best platforms for structured issue and project management.

Pros

Jira provides a highly adaptable and robust platform for handling technical workflows. Its customizable boards, automation features, and integration capabilities make it a great choice for bringing different teams together. From my perspective in product support, I’ve found it straightforward to follow issues from their first report all the way to resolution, always knowing who’s responsible and how things are progressing. The powerful search and filtering tools (JQL) are a huge help when managing lots of tickets.

Cons

It can take a while to get used to Jira, especially if you’re new or need to dive into advanced setup and workflows. Some admin tasks feel more complicated than they should be, and the system can slow down if you’re working with big projects or lots of dashboard widgets. While the interface offers a lot, it can seem crowded at times, which can make it tougher for new or less technical team members to get started.

### "Great for dev teams, but can feel a bit heavy sometimes"

April 15, 2026

4.0

The industry standard exists because it demonstrates its value. The system needs enhancements because its user interface operates at slow speeds although it successfully handles our daily standup meetings and sprint planning activities. The system functions as a reliable tool through its basic setup requirements which I use on a daily basis to handle my work and programming tasks.

Pros

The best aspect of the software for developers exists in its ability to work together with Git and our CI/CD pipelines. The system provides a time-saving benefit because users can link Jira tickets to their work through pull requests and commit messages. The process for tracking sprints and transferring tickets throughout the board operates with high efficiency. The system enables our team to maintain shared understanding about which team members handle different bug fixes and user story tasks without requiring us to ask each other.

Cons

The initial experience proves to be excessively challenging. The multiple menus and available options create a cumbersome experience when users attempt to perform basic task updates. The system becomes unmanageable when project managers and administrators create excessive custom workflows because users experience extreme difficulty in moving tickets to the "Done" status. The system experiences performance issues because it becomes slow and unresponsive when the backlog exceeds its capacity.

### "Industry Standard Work Management"

March 30, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Jira has been positive. It's a commonly used industry tool, and it is beneficial that most software engineers and product managers are familiar with using it.

Pros

Jira makes it easy to organize the work needed to complete projects. It's features help engineering leadership understand the status of in progress work, and it helps engineers distribute tasks amongst themselves.

Cons

Jira is rather flexible, which is good, but this also makes it important for a company to set it up correctly so it is efficient and effective when engineers use it. Simple choices like disabling "initiative" level tickets can hinder the ability of teams.

### "Reliable project tracking tool with a learning curve"

May 3, 2026

4.0

My overall experience with Jira has been positive. I used it mainly for bug tracking and managing sprint tasks in an Agile environment. It helped the team stay organized and made it easy to track the status of issues. In the beginning, it felt a bit complex, but after getting used to it, it became an important part of our daily workflow. It improved coordination between testers and developers and made project tracking more structured and efficient.

Pros

What I liked most about Jira is its strong task and bug tracking system. It makes it easy to assign issues, track their progress, and manage them efficiently within the team. The Agile boards (Scrum/Kanban) are very helpful for sprint planning and daily tracking. I also liked the ability to customize workflows and dashboards, which gives better visibility of the project. Overall, it really improves team collaboration and keeps everything organized.

Cons

What I liked least about Jira is that it has a steep learning curve, especially for beginners. The interface can feel a bit cluttered and confusing at first. Setting up workflows and configurations takes time and isn’t very straightforward. Also, performance can sometimes slow down when working on large projects, which can affect productivity.

### "Using JIRA to maximise team collaboration and track tasks"

April 15, 2026

4.0

Generally it's quite positive. It allows easy tracking of progress on tasks and logging of time spent on said tasks.

Pros

the sprint kanban board makes it easy to track progress on tasks, it's easy to share progress on a ticket with other team members and to reassign tasks as necessary

Cons

I find the UI to be quite unintuitive. It's also not particularly visually appealing. It has a feel of older generation software

It is especially useful in a work environment where multiple team members are handling different parts of the same project. Pros

Jira is a very useful tool for managing tasks, tracking bugs, and organizing team work. It is Especially helpful when working with developers, QA teams, and project managers in one place. it can feel a little complex in the beginning, but once the team gets used to it, it becomes very effective.

### "Jira, an indispensable tool for developers and support "

November 27, 2025

In general, it is a very good tool for monitoring and documenting development tasks with integrated AI and the possibility of following the time spent on each task.

Pros

It has a user-friendly interface and allows easy monitoring of development tasks. It also has integrated AI.It allows filtering through various fields, facilitating searches. It helps the support team a lot to find documentation.

Cons

Sometimes it takes time to load the web, they could optimize a little more so that it loads faster. have more predefined filters for quick searches.

### "JIRA is probably the best tool in its field"

September 1, 2025

5.0

Overall experience is good, especially when we are using JIRA for the whole team. It is very easy to use and it allows us to check our colleague cases as well. We can do team work and project collaboration very easily with JIRA, and the notifications to the e-mail box are coming very fast, so we are aware when a change is done.

Pros

JIRA is a great software, very useful in the day to day working life. It is able to provide a good track of our records and customer complains, and it is a very good monitoring tool for all our cases. I have used several / different software for this job, and I can certify that JIRA is the best tool (even if it is more expensive compared with the competition). The customers are also very happy with our reaction time and the way we are treating the cases with JIRA (writing text, sending attachements and pictures, highlighting text etc.)... it is kind of the best customer support tool that we used so far.

Cons

Even if JIRA is a great product, it is not perfect. There are some things that I do not like. One of them is the response time, which quite often is slow, and after I click one menu it take 5 seconds to load the page. Other issue is the refresh rate: sometimes I update cases but on the main page they are not updated. Also, if I refresh the page, I receive the old status first and only after 5-10 seconds it gets updated to the latest status. The search function is not the best, as sometimes is missing some results that I am actually looking for.

Alternatives considered

[Zendesk Suite](https://www.capterra.com/p/164283/Zendesk/)

Reason for choosing Jira

We have another department in our company that uses Zendesk and there were a lot of complains. After some months of thinking we decided to choose Quality over Price, so we took JIRA and not Zendesk.

### "A Powerful Tool That Brings Structure—But Can Feel Heavy at Times"

January 15, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with Jira has been mostly positive. It’s a powerful tool for managing work and keeping teams aligned, especially on larger or more complex projects. While it can feel heavy and overly detailed at times, once you get used to it, it does a good job of bringing structure, visibility, and accountability to day-to-day work.

Pros

What I liked most about Jira is that it keeps everyone on the same page. You can easily see who’s working on what, what’s blocked, and what needs attention next. It helps break big pieces of work into manageable tasks, keeps conversations and updates in one place, and reduces the need for constant follow-ups. Overall, it makes teamwork more organized and less chaotic.

Cons

I didn’t like how complicated Jira can feel at times. For simple tasks, it often feels like overkill, with too many fields, steps, and settings. The interface can be cluttered, and a lot of time can end up going into managing tickets rather than actually getting work done.

### "Jira review"

January 28, 2026

4.0

Jira is great and I would definitely recommend Jira to use to manage products in IT or in any project area. It works well for our team and we are able to see at quick glance tasks that are in progress and done. We use this each day for our daily stand ups to discuss the project progress.

Pros

Jira is a great tool to support project work , we utilise this in our tech team to ensure we capture all work items , using the back log to add tickets to then refine the back log weekly to move these items into the Kanban board to work these. We also use these to then manage these using the different groups , eg: to do , in Progress , in review , done

Cons

Learning all the different ways you can use Jira takes a bit of time . You can use this project management tools in many ways

### "Industry standard, no major issues but I try get in and out as quick as possible"

January 20, 2026

4.0

Overall, it is good. I do try to spend as little time in Jira as possible, as I want to get work done, but the admin side is as important.

Pros

I think the best feature is the JQL searching. When I learned how to use this, I was able to find very old Jiras by filtering on who might have been the assignee and possible text inside of it. This has saved me so much time finding old Jiras to understand design choices

Cons

Lots of fields don't get populated when cloning a Jira. Sometimes I want to clone a Jira, and have everything the same except for the name and description. Some fields need to be populated manually, which is fine every once in a while, but when you are doing a lot of Jira admin, it gets very tedious

### "JIRA - It's What's For Dinner"

April 20, 2026

5.0

It's been great - it's helped us reduce customer assistance times, and it also helps us keep track of our own progress internally, in a secure manner.

Pros

The fact that it gives me the ability to manage all of my tickets, and ticketing options from a single pane of glass. This makes team collaboration and project collaboration a breeze. Being able to support customers is our main focus, and JIRA helps us do that very efficiently. It's easy to use, and its quite cheap. Gerat value for the money.

Cons

It is very complex - there are a lot of bells and whistles and switches to toggle. You need to play around for a bit to get used to it.

### "A Powerful Tool for Managing Projects and Team Collaboration"

December 11, 2025

4.0

My overall experience with Jira has been very positive. It keeps my entire team aligned and makes it easy to track progress, deadlines, and blockers. Once the workflows are set up properly, the productivity boost is huge. Automations help reduce manual work, and integrations make the system feel complete. It has definitely improved transparency and task ownership within our projects.

Pros

Jira is extremely powerful for managing tasks, bugs, and project workflows. I really like its flexibility—whether it’s Scrum, Kanban, or a custom workflow, it can adapt to any team. The dashboard, automation rules, and integration with tools like Confluence, GitHub, and Slack make collaboration very smooth. Tracking sprint progress and issue history is also very easy. Overall, it brings great visibility and structure to daily work

Cons

Jira can feel overwhelming for new users because of the number of features and configuration options. Some pages load a bit slow, and setting up custom workflows or permissions takes time. The UI has improved, but still can feel slightly complex for non-technical users.

### "Powerful and scalable project management platform"

December 21, 2025

5.0

Overall, my experience with Jira has been excellent. It is a reliable, scalable, and well-designed platform that supports both simple and complex project management needs. Jira improves transparency, accountability, and collaboration, and it scales well as teams and projects grow. It has become a core tool for organizing work and delivering projects successfully.

Pros

Jira is an extremely powerful and flexible tool for project and task management, especially for technical, product, and development teams. It adapts well to different workflows through Scrum and Kanban boards, custom fields, automation rules, and a large ecosystem of integrations. It provides excellent visibility into project status, dependencies, and priorities, making collaboration and planning much more effective across teams.

Cons

Jira can feel overwhelming at first due to the number of features and configuration options available. New users may experience a learning curve, and initial setup requires some planning to get the most value out of the platform. That said, once properly configured, Jira becomes intuitive and highly efficient to use.
