### "Industry Standard Work Management"

March 30, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Jira has been positive. It's a commonly used industry tool, and it is beneficial that most software engineers and product managers are familiar with using it.

Pros

Jira makes it easy to organize the work needed to complete projects. It's features help engineering leadership understand the status of in progress work, and it helps engineers distribute tasks amongst themselves.

Cons

Jira is rather flexible, which is good, but this also makes it important for a company to set it up correctly so it is efficient and effective when engineers use it. Simple choices like disabling "initiative" level tickets can hinder the ability of teams.

### "Jira project management "

February 27, 2026

4.0

Very positive. I’ve used a number of project management tools and Jira is definitely the top choice for me.

Pros

It has an intuitive interface, great for collaboration and one of the easier project management tools to use.

Cons

There is definitely a learning curve to getting the most out of the platform. Interface can sometimes feel overwhelming.

### "Perhaps Jira's time is over?"

February 23, 2026

3.0

I had great hopes for integrating Jira with Slack when they bought out a Jira integration tool, but the two-way sync was really unreliable so we ended up moving on to Pylon.

Pros

Extremely customizable with plenty of integrations. You can basically program it to do anything you want and integrate with any tool you have in your stack.

Cons

With this customizability comes complexity and some lag. It's not as nimble as it used to be and most companies I know (including my own) have moved onto Linear.

### "Good for Tracking Tasks, Bugs, and team projects."

April 3, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with jira has been positive. It has helped in managing tasks, reporting bugs, tracking project progress, and improving communication between teams. It is especially useful in a work environment where multiple team members are handling different parts of the same project. Although there is a learning curve, once you understand the system, it becomes a very reliable and useful tool for daily work.

Pros

Jira is a very useful tool for managing tasks, tracking bugs, and organizing team work. It is Especially helpful when working with developers, QA teams, and project managers in one place. it can feel a little complex in the beginning, but once the team gets used to it, it becomes very effective.

Cons

What i liked most about jira is how well it helps in tracking tasks and bugs in a structured way. It is very useful for managing day-to-day work, assigning responsibilities, and following the progress of issues until closer/ The ability to create custom workflows, priorities, comments, and status tracking makes it very practical for real project management.

### "Powerful project tool, steep learning curve and a bit heavy"

April 8, 2026

4.0

Overall it’s a powerful tool that improved how we manage projects and tasks. Took a while to set up and learn, but once configured it reduced a lot of manual work and made collaboration clearer. Not perfect for very small teams, but for engineering and product teams it’s been a big help.

Pros

I like that Jira can be shaped to match our process. Backlogs, sprints, boards, and JQL make tracking work easy. The audit trail and history are great when you need to see who changed what. It really helps teams stay aligned.

Cons

The UI can feel clunky and overloaded. Setting up workflows and permissions is confusing and takes time. Performance slows down when you have huge projects or many apps. Also some useful things are only in paid tiers or via plugins.

### "Sophistication begets complexity"

March 26, 2026

5.0

I have used Jira both as an administrator of my own projects and also as an end-user. It seems to be beloved by the IT community, whereas not so beloved by the project management community. Depending on how much time you have to set it up, it can be a great solution for project management, but with heavy lifting to configure it into a productive place.

Pros

Highly customizable, great for collaboration, great for project management, great for gathering project data and managing timeline adherence

Cons

The customize ability of the platform can often times lend itself to complexity that may not be warranted, depending on your project.

### "Powerful but Complex: Worth It for the Right Team"

March 23, 2026

4.0

Overall, Jira is a powerful and flexible project management tool that delivers real value once properly configured. The learning curve is steep, but once the team is up to speed, the visibility and control it provides over projects and workflows is hard to match.

Pros

The ability to track multiple projects in one centralized place while maintaining full visibility into tasks, deadlines, and team responsibilities.

Cons

The steep learning curve; new team members often struggle to get up to speed without dedicated onboarding or training.

August 30, 2025

Jira is a powerful project management tool that scales well for teams of all sizes. While it requires some onboarding, the ability to track, prioritize, and report on tasks efficiently makes it invaluable for project-focused organizations.

Pros

Jira excels in project and task management, offering customizable workflows, robust reporting, and agile board functionality. It’s highly effective for team collaboration, keeping everyone aligned on deadlines and progress.

Cons

The interface can feel overly complex for new users, and some features require a steep learning curve. Occasional performance lags occur with very large projects

### "Powerful Project Tracking Software"

November 30, 2025

5.0

Jira has been great for my team and we all enjoy using it. It has allowed us to deliver software for our client seamlessly, and gives them some transparency into our progress on the software we're creating.

Pros

Jira allowed us to easily collaborate on projects across development, design, and delivery. Jira allowed us to create tasks and manage the state of those tasks easily. Jira made it easy to create tasks, assign them to team members, and track their progress as work was done.

Cons

The major drawback from Jira is that it can be a little too powerful if you're looking for something simple. It can be a little overwhelming as well to see all of the available options.

### "Solid Agile Tool with Some Rigidity"

September 25, 2025

3.0

Overall, my experience with Jira has been positive but mixed. For simple Scrum or Kanban setups, it’s quick and easy to get started. For SAFe, the tool works well, but it requires a lot of setup and administrative work to configure it properly.

Pros

Jira is very effective for teams working with SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban. It keeps everyone notified thanks to detailed history and notifications, which helps with transparency and collaboration. Integrations are smooth — for example, connecting it with TestRail was straightforward and very useful.

Cons

Jira can feel rigid when you need to work outside of its predefined structures. Setting it up in a corporate environment requires significant configuration and can be time-consuming compared to the single-user version, which is much simpler. The rigidity may also limit flexibility for teams that are used to rapidly changing processes.

### "JIRA is probably the best tool in its field"

September 1, 2025

5.0

Overall experience is good, especially when we are using JIRA for the whole team. It is very easy to use and it allows us to check our colleague cases as well. We can do team work and project collaboration very easily with JIRA, and the notifications to the e-mail box are coming very fast, so we are aware when a change is done.

Pros

JIRA is a great software, very useful in the day to day working life. It is able to provide a good track of our records and customer complains, and it is a very good monitoring tool for all our cases. I have used several / different software for this job, and I can certify that JIRA is the best tool (even if it is more expensive compared with the competition). The customers are also very happy with our reaction time and the way we are treating the cases with JIRA (writing text, sending attachements and pictures, highlighting text etc.)... it is kind of the best customer support tool that we used so far.

Cons

Even if JIRA is a great product, it is not perfect. There are some things that I do not like. One of them is the response time, which quite often is slow, and after I click one menu it take 5 seconds to load the page. Other issue is the refresh rate: sometimes I update cases but on the main page they are not updated. Also, if I refresh the page, I receive the old status first and only after 5-10 seconds it gets updated to the latest status. The search function is not the best, as sometimes is missing some results that I am actually looking for.

Reason for choosing Jira

We have another department in our company that uses Zendesk and there were a lot of complains. After some months of thinking we decided to choose Quality over Price, so we took JIRA and not Zendesk.

### "Powerful for Dev Teams, But the Learning Curve is Steep"

January 13, 2026

5.0

My experience has been positive once we got past the initial setup and training period. Once our team understood how to use it, it became an essential tool for managing our development work and keeping everything aligned. The integrations with our dev tools make the workflow smooth. That said, it's not for everyone. If your team isn't doing agile work or you have a lot of non-technical users, you'll probably be frustrated. The complexity and the cost mean there's a real barrier to entry, and smaller teams might find simpler alternatives like Trello more practical. It's a powerful tool that delivers real value for established development teams, but expect to invest time in getting comfortable with it and potentially hiring someone to handle the administration side.

Pros

The scrum and kanban boards are excellent for organizing work, and the integration with other Atlassian tools like Confluence and Bitbucket is seamless. Once you understand how it works, the customizable workflows and automation features save a ton of time. The ability to track dependencies, link code commits to tickets, and see real-time progress updates across the team is really valuable. I also appreciate the visibility it gives you into the entire development lifecycle. For teams doing agile work, the backlog management and sprint planning features are solid, and there's good flexibility to customize things to match your process.

Cons

The interface is complex and cluttered, especially when you're starting out. There's a steep learning curve, and even small changes in configuration can trigger notification emails to everyone involved, which gets annoying. The system feels slow when you have a large number of tickets loaded, and setting up permissions or automation rules properly often requires a dedicated administrator. The pricing also adds up quickly, especially if you need plugins or add-ons to get the features you actually need. At that point, the total cost of ownership gets hard to justify. I'd also say it's really built for technical users and developers. Non-technical team members struggle with navigation and the overall UX.

### "Industry standard, no major issues but I try get in and out as quick as possible"

January 20, 2026

4.0

Overall, it is good. I do try to spend as little time in Jira as possible, as I want to get work done, but the admin side is as important.

Pros

I think the best feature is the JQL searching. When I learned how to use this, I was able to find very old Jiras by filtering on who might have been the assignee and possible text inside of it. This has saved me so much time finding old Jiras to understand design choices

Cons

Lots of fields don't get populated when cloning a Jira. Sometimes I want to clone a Jira, and have everything the same except for the name and description. Some fields need to be populated manually, which is fine every once in a while, but when you are doing a lot of Jira admin, it gets very tedious

### "JIRA in 4 years"

March 27, 2026

5.0

Jira has been a reliable tool and a strong source of truth for planning and tracking work. It helps keep teams coordinated and makes execution more transparent, even if some parts can feel a little process-heavy at times.

Pros

Jira keeps everything in one place and makes work easy to track from start to finish. It’s especially helpful for staying aligned with dev and product—bugs, stories, priorities, and status are all visible, so it’s clear what’s blocked, what’s in progress, and what needs attention.

Cons

It can get noisy and cluttered, especially on larger projects—important updates sometimes get buried in comments, notifications, and long ticket histories. Also, depending on how a project is configured, logging a simple bug can feel a bit heavy with too many fields, steps, or workflows.

ira is a robust and reliable tool for agile project management. It significantly improves collaboration, task tracking, and reporting. While it requires some initial effort to learn and configure, the flexibility and scalability make it an excellent choice for medium to large teams. Once set up, it becomes a central hub for managing projects efficiently.

Pros

Jira offers excellent project and task management capabilities, making it easy to track progress and manage workflows.

Cons

Performance can slow down with large projects or heavy data. Some advanced configurations require admin expertise, which can be time-consuming.

### "Jira Review"

December 9, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Jira has been exceptional. It’s very easy to manage leads within the platform and if you’re collaborating with your sales team or even with other departments, it’s way easier and more flexible to collaborate, manage projects and manage tasks. With Scrum Boards, we are able to break down massive projects into manageable chunks of work and this helps the team become more efficient. This has been a game changer for us and the main reason I love using Jira

Pros

What I love the most about Jira is that you can consolidate tools between departments and the Sales, Marketing, HR and Operations Teams can use the same platform in the different departments. This makes it easy to collaborate between departments and helps with tool consolidation which saves costs as well.

Cons

I haven’t found anything I do not like about Jira so far. Jira has served its purpose without any major challenges

### "A comprehensive solution for Agile teams"

December 30, 2025

5.0

Jira is an incredibly reliable platform that scales perfectly with the size of a project. I've found it to be the best tool for keeping a clear backlog and managing sprints. It isn't always the fastest or most intuitive interface, but once you have your workflows dialed in, it’s a powerhouse for productivity. It's my go-to for technical project management.

Pros

What I like most is how perfectly it supports Agile methodologies. The Scrum and Kanban boards are incredibly detailed, and features like Backlog grooming and Sprint planning are built-in natively. It makes managing a complex development lifecycle much more structured than simpler task managers.

Cons

At times, the interface can feel a bit sluggish, especially when dealing with large backlogs or complex projects with many custom fields. I’ve noticed that loading times for boards and reports can be a little slow, which can be frustrating when you’re trying to make quick updates during a meeting.

Pros

I live in Jira. It has all of team's tasks laid out in an intuitive way so I know when it's time for me to take the baton and advance the project as needed.

Cons

### "Great Tool for Project Management"

March 11, 2026

4.0

Overall it's been great, it has allowed me to have a seamless workflow with a large multinational team. I use it with clients, and it's one of the best project management tools I've used. My favorite feature is the kanban board, best way to keep everything visually organized.

Pros

It's a great tool for keeping track of projects and collaborate with teams remotely. For project management, the possibility of customization allows for a tailored experience that best suits the entire team. It allows me to keep my own workflow organized while clearly communicating with the client the project status by just updating the necessary fields.

Cons

It can be a bit hard to use at first, it has a somewhat steep learning curve, and as someone who isn't the admin, a lot of the fields are redundant or irrelevant to me, but they can create a bit of visual clutter. It doesn't make it impossible to use, but it has its challenges.
