Pros TriNet provided a convenient all-in-one platform for payroll, benefits, and HR management. The payroll process was reliable, benefits administration was straightforward, and having HR resources available when questions arose was valuable. The platform helped simplify many administrative tasks and saved time. Cons Customer support response times could sometimes be slower than expected, especially for more complex issues. I enjoyed the simplicity of the product, I thought it was very user-friendly for both admins and employees, it was easy to set up, inexpensive, and made onboarding, payroll, and benefits a breeze. Cons TriNet stopped supporting the Zenefits product and some features started losing functionality (ie: no more integration with background check partner). They then required our account move to a new version and pricing structure. We used TriNet for nearly 6 years and if not for that change, we would have stayed with them indefinitely if it weren't for these changes. The disconnect between what sales offers / promises and reality is significant. If I were an executive at TriNet, I would be concerned about retention and brand reputation. I will not recommend TriNet to anyone. Pros The sales experience was the highlight. Once we were handed off from sales to implementation the experience has been extremely negative in all aspects. Cons Where to start - the overall experience has been awful. Inconsistent messages, representatives (we haven't had one consistent rep since joining), process and pricing inconsistencies. The overall customer experience the awful. Our employees find it easy to use, with time punches, benefits, and personal changes such as home address changes. And this makes my job much easier! Pros The TriNet team is a great team to assist with any issues or questions that arise. They are always quick to respond! Our employees find the system easy to use. Whether it is processing payroll or making changes to employees jobs or pay, the process is easy and quick. Cons Would like to be able to create more reports specific to the data that is needed for meetings. It is time consuming to take the reports available and tweak them to what is needed in a short time period. But, the TriNet team always responds within 24 hours when there is a special report needed. It has not always been smooth but over the last 3-4 years it has improved tremendously. Currently, LOAs and Workers Compensation are my only pain point. I will also add that the benefits offerings are far too many and it is confusing and overwhelming to staff. I have expressed a desire to reduce our company's offerings numerous times but we have not been able to do so. Pros TriNet's payroll team is very helpful and efficient. Communication is prompt—typically within a few hours when we need assistance—which makes a significant difference in our overall experience. Pros TriNet removes the burden of staying compliant with state employment laws and regulations. They manage all employer-related filings across the states where we have employees, and payroll is calculated, processed, and reported accurately without requiring hands-on involvement from our team. This automation gives us confidence that everything is handled correctly and on time. Cons Accessing certain reports can be challenging. Some reports are not readily available within the system and must be requested directly, which is not always obvious unless you already know they exist. I know companies that use and love TriNet, it just didn't work for the business needs at the time. Pros TriNet had great customer service and we had a great account manager for HR related items. The system was fairly easy to use. Cons It didn't support our international organization the way we hoped it would've. It is easy to navigate and user friendly. Pros Trinet is very user friendly and easy to navigate. When I first started my new job the onboarding process was fairly straightforward. Navigating their platform since intuitive. I know right where to look for benefits, time off, expenses, etc. Cons While the onboarding process was straightforward, the method of choosing health plans and dental plans was more difficult. It allowed you to review everything and select your preferred, but then I had to remember what I selected and deselect at a later stage, making it difficult. There are some things not as clear on the back end too. For example, if you are not assigned an approved for your business expenses, and you submit an expense report, nobody at the company is notified and the report somewhat disappears. Review Source VR Verified Reviewer Editor Media Production Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Very User Friendly" April 14, 2022 5.0 Pros TriNet is incredibly helpful for viewing and downloading my bi-weekly paychecks, accessing my retirement plan portal, submitting expense reports, viewing my health benefits, and tracking time off all in one place. I especially appreciate the "Estimate Balance" feature on the Time Off page, which allows you to view the exact date at which you will hit your earned PTO cap. This has enabled me to always make sure I take off time before I hit my cap, and avoid losing out on well-earned PTO. The TriNet mobile app also gives you access to most, if not all, of the same features that the web browser version offers, so you can check any work-related details you might need to on the go. Cons There is honestly nothing I dislike about TriNet. Our company had no cohesive, one stop shop for all of the services TriNet provides until we switched to TriNet, so it solved all of our problems with one software.
