We did have to write our own API calls to their system but we have full control over what happens with errors and transactions. Orderful has allowed us to shrink our new customer EDI implementation significantly. Pros Orderful is the first system we found that lets us see everything. We had other EDI providers that would not show the raw transactions. Orderful lets us work the way we want to work. They do the heavy lifting of the communications and AS2 translations and we get to work with a good API directly from our ERP system. We can write our own reporting and notifications from the raw transactions we see. Cons Not really a downside but it would be nice to have access to APIs as well as AS2. We work with a lot of trading partners that have API access and it would be great to have one single simple interface that covered all of our business transactions. Orderful is open to suggested product enhancements and does their due diligence in vetting out solutions before implementing. Pros Having the ability to customize and map different trading partners business rules has been key to a quick implementation timeline. Developers or mapping expertise is generally not needed. Cons As with any software, there were times when a feature or enhancement timeline got pushed out due to competing priorities. Orderful was great in communicating these changes and did fulfill requests that were approved by product teams. Orderful has been receptive to feedback on its product from both us as well as our trading partners and is seriously interested in improving the experience in the Orderful platform. Pros With most EDI Services a Managed Services or Software as a Service model requiring dedicated developers or mappers to maintain, Orderful's platform offered us a more simplified approach. The Rules Engine has allowed us to consolidate the developer / mapper role with a business analyst role. Communications set up is self-serviced by our carrier trading partners and automated email notifications of exceptions allow us to onboard much more quickly than in our legacy EDI platform. Cons Early on there were delays with delivery of our transactions but in 2022 Orderful has invested a lot of time and effort into having its platform be much more resilient. Reporting capabilities within the platform are still very limited and basic and would be nice to see more telemetry-type reporting native to the platform. Reasons for choosing Orderful Allowed us to eliminate handoffs and get us closer to a carrier self-service onboarding experience. They have made it possible to drastically cut onboarding time with trading partners by 90% compared to our previous state. Their support team is quick to respond to support inquires, and their team is highly knowledgeable in EDI. Their product offers friendly yet powerful tools that allow us to self onboard and make the needed changes on the fly that we tend to see in our industry. Their user interface is clean and sophisticated, making you feel in control of your data and relationships across your organization. Cons At this time they do not support XML, and file formatting outbound is strictly X12 EDI. Reports ran out of the UI are limited to 30K transactions however they offer list API for more robust reporting needs. This has made my life and role a lot easier at this company. It's also been high impact for our customers. Pros I like how reliable and easy the software is to use. Also, the fact that we have solutions architects available to assist makes our lives easy. This allows us to focus on the core of our product. In addition to that, we're able to schedule meetings with our account manager who can answer any question or issue we have with EDI. This is critical when it comes to onboarding new customers. Our account manager can carry the success of that business relationship through their knowledge and expertise in EDI. On every client call we've had, our account manager has more knowledge on EDI than any of our customers. Cons I just don't like the launch time required for EDI technology. This isn't a problem with Orderful, but a problem with the industry. However, Orderful has created a ton of great tools and features that expedite this process so I'm very optimistic about Orderful's ability to solve this problem in the next 2-3 years.
