Pros Loom allows saving videos data with large size out of disk,you can find all the videos uploaded via screenshot or webcam in your loom dashboard page. The bubble showing my webcam feed really personalised the experience for my customers. Cons I would sometimes have audio issues from my microphone. Once I got recordings going it went well, but the pre-recording issues really got to me. Pros I love the background blur on videos as Im not always recording from the most professional settings. Pros Definitely its ease of use. With other products there has definitely been a learning curve of a few videos until I understand how to use it. With Loom I felt like an expert on my second video. Its intuitive and I feel its not talked about enough. During the pandemic it made life so much easier to communicate with my team. Even now when things are back to normal I find myself using it . CEO Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: I used a free trial ### "Great Software- but train your affiliates better" January 1, 2021 5.0 We already use reflector and camtasia, and whilst those are slightly more difficult to use than loom, I had such a bad introduction into the software via the affiliate invitation- I really just wanted to delete the account. It is certainly not a bad software, and can be very helpful for teams- I would personally prefer to have the "pricing" state "free forever" on the free plan, have a popup included that tells you which plan you are on (free vs free business trial) and an easy way to delete the whole account (not just the workspace) forever. Pros I like the ease of use- you set up a workspace within a minute and can start recording your screen or yourself. I like the branding options, and that there is a free trial. Cons I was invited by a loom affiliate during the course of a job interview. The recruiter was the rudest and most inept I had ever encountered, and it wasn't mentioned that this was an affiliate link. I felt pressured to use the software (always a bad thing), and it wasn't quite clear that the trial I had signed up for wasn't the "free forever" version, but the loom business version. This MADE a difference, because the business trial seemingly gets converted into a paid trial, and that pressured me even more. So I deleted the workspace. I also tried to find a way to leave loom entirely, consulted the help centre, and realized that this is only possible if you get help from the support. Review Source Nneka O. I don't think I've needed to contact support so I can't comment on that but the platform has been a fantastic experience to use! Pros The ease of use has to be the number one thing I love about Loom. Its so quick and easy to capture a video in any capacity I want from full microphone and live video to no mic, no camera, just the screen recording. Then it gives you the link and copies it automatically - everything about Loom is so easy to use and makes screen recordings so much faster. Cons A couple bugs I've seen such as the copy GIF feature doesnt always work or the download button won't show up unless you refresh the page. You can select full screen, just self, or a combination of both. Love having that flexibility. I like how you can change the settings on videos quickly and even password protect them. Perfect solution for making training videos for team members. Cons It's a bit clunky when it comes to being able to setup and delete folders. Same things applies to deleting videos. Especially, when you are done viewing a video, you can simply add your comments in the thank you screen that appears and the user sending the loom knows that you have seen the video. Pros Loom is really easy to use and it captures your screen, your webcam and your audio simultaneously making recording videos and walking the clients through a design or an app really easy. You can jump between different screens, change the position of your webcam capture easily and share the loom video by just sharing a simple url. Cons There's nothing in loom that is not likeable. As a Customer Support Manger, it is an invaluable tool for both communicating with our customers and for team communication. When explaining an issue or process through written communication just doesn't work, Loom makes it so easy for me to record a quick screen share video and walk our customers or team mates through the process I need to describe to them. My job would be so much more complicated and tedious if I didn't have Loom! Highly recommend to anyone in the client success or customer support world. Can easily crop the screen portion want to share. Makes it very easy to trim parts of the video I want to delete, so I don’t need to re-record every time. Very easy to share, video link gets generated and the viewer does not necessarily need loom installed to view the video. Can embed the video on a web page if needed. I started using the free version then saw that, at least for this past year, Loom had a free version for educators with valid emails. I applied for that and never turned back! Pros I love the editing features within Loom. Also, the size of the files that download is wonderful! Being able to undo my edits easily when cutting a video was essential to creating quality videos for my classes this past year. Cons I have no cons to this program. They started downloading edits much quicker than before in the past few months which was incredible! The option to record videos either on my computer or on my phone (via the app) is very useful as my video creation isn't restricted to my desk. The screen recording feature is invaluable for creating useful information and content for clients. The customer support team are excellent - very helpful and responsive. The transcription feature is very useful and saves me having to use separate software. Working in a support environment there is only so much written text can do for an end user trying to solve a solution. In some situations it is warranted but by having a video walk through our end users can keep it to revisit for themselves or other staff that run into the same issues. Cons The Chrome Plugin has acted up on me a few times, but removing and reinstalling it typically always solves it.
