### "My Loom experience "

April 22, 2023

4.0

Pros

Mobile access! Being able to share my thoughts/updates with colleagues at work without opening my PC mean a lot.

Cons

Lack of video editing and improvement tools. There's no way for me to improve my video quality or adjust certain things in video like brightness etc. Once the recording is stopped, Loom starts to upload. Sad.

### "A Great Video Tool for Fast & Clear Collboration!"

November 6, 2022

5.0

Overall I highly recommend Loom Video! It's a really nifty tool that is definitely utilized in this modern world of phones and Zoom. I really don't like setting up, planning, and sitting on Zoom for hours and this replaces that when it's really not necessary. I also deal with a lot of people overseas and this works so well for sharing work ideas with them when we can't talk regularly. Plus you can watch the video over and over so to me it's actually a more information way to present info to people. It's a really great idea and the execution is just a good. It's a product I use almost daily and will continue to use it and recommend it to anyone collaborating with others for work!

Pros

I really love the overall concept of Loom! It makes it really easy to send videos back and forth to people or teams you're working with, so you can adequately convey your message without the need for long video calls. The platform is also super simple to use which makes the whole process easier.

Cons

The only thing I would say about Loom is that I wish it was a little bit better on the mobile phone. It's awesome on your laptop but maybe it could be quicker and easier there.

### "Video over Text"

January 23, 2020

5.0

There is a saying that a picture says a thousand words. In today's world, communication is essential. I've had many instances where I've seen the context of that communication being misinterpreted. This is why I love Loom. Loom gives an easy way for people to communicate via video. These short video messages can separate you from other people and they are effective. I've use loom in both personal and business instances. It is easy to shoot and send a quick video than to write a long email. I've even inserted commentary videos under social media post to clarify my stance on issues. I've used it for customer onboarding and partner training. There are so many creative ways you can share Loom videos to effectively get your point across.

Pros

Easy to use interface Fast video processing Videos can be viewed on any device

Cons

Mobile experience is iOS beta only Unable to stop and switch recording sources (ie switching from recording a tab to your desktop)

### "The best out there if you have the means to pay for it"

August 12, 2022

5.0

Pros

Honnestly, I was a huge Loom fan. I used it for all videos that required screen sharing or sreen recording, from onboarding videos to just saying hi to my colleagues. It was so easy to use, to share, to work on.

Cons

We used Loom as a company for such a long time. It had been such a pain when you had to upgrade if you wanted to do videos that lasted more than 5 minutes.

### "So Simple A Caveman Can Use It"

August 22, 2021

5.0

I am very satisfied with loom and the easiness of use. The call to action option in the paid plan is a nice to have. I'd be nice to have a higher limit of recording on the free plan when doing website reviews or some longer form training. I'll continue using Loom for my projects.

Pros

I find loom very easy to deploy and use. The desktop application is very user friendly and provides a quick way to screen record and produce training videos. The chrome extension is also very easy to use and gives you enough features to provide quality training and annotations on the go.

Cons

I was disappointed about the 5 minute recording limit on the free plan. It forces you to upgrade and sometimes the upgraded plan is more than needed for a beginner. They also made a change to the flow of accessing videos. I used to be able to move videos into specific folders from the main screen, now it takes a couple additional clicks and setup to get it done.

### "New and easier ways to give my students feedback and tutorial "

August 13, 2021

5.0

Pros

I like Loom so much as it eases my jobs, especially during WFH. I use video Loom to give instructions or tutorials explaining details of class assignments to my students. Also, I use it a lot to help my job as a thesis supervisor. Using video Loom, I can provide more structured feedback to my students using screen recording, showing their work that needs revisions. I think this helps them a lot as they can get a better understanding by viewing the video and listening to my explanation. I encourage my students to use this platform to further discuss their work using the comment feature. The benefits that I get by using Loom videos, I can reduce the times for scheduled live consultations and have more flexible times to work on my students' thesis. Another point that I like, Loom is integrated with Gmail. So, as an alternative to sending links, I can send my video feedback directly via email.

Cons

Need more choices for cursor types to help highlighting important points

### "Loom Review"

June 30, 2022

5.0

Great! It helps us a lot in sharing stuff with our customers or just internally. It speeds up the process a lot when you have to explain something.

Pros

The implementation process is really easy. How to use the software as well so this speeds up the start and how to get your colleagues on board as an administrator. The integration with Google Chrome works perfectly fine and let's you record videos quickly while working on certain topics.

Cons

There are no outstanding things I do not like about this software.

### " The solution to my problems"

February 1, 2021

4.0

Being able to download and watch my academic content whenever and wherever I wanted was a marvel for my learning, being able to record and watch my screen provided the continuity of my academic course during the pandemic.

Pros

The use of the loom made it possible in pandemic times to view my university classes whenever I needed them. The plugin greatly facilitates usability by turning the entire process into a web environment, greatly facilitating system mobility.

Cons

When an internet crash occurs, the loom has a recording failure, a fact that can interrupt or shred a presentation, but it is a feature inherent to a web system.

### "Can't beat the price (It's FREE) LOL but will be upgrading to a paid account soon!"

January 23, 2020

5.0

Makes it easier and faster to communicate with clients and teammates, a picture is worth a thousand words well a video is worth a million words. Saves a ton of time and clients love video presentations especially vs long borrowing emails. Also helps build relationships with clients in today's world everything seems to be done by phone, text or email this puts a face to the name,

Pros

It's FREE but also since I have been using LOOM they continue to improve even on the paid version, it has features that other charge $50 per month or more. Looms Pro paid plan is only $8-$10 a month so will be upgrading soon.

Cons

Just wish I was able to integrate with my CRM or via Zapier, I have to do more research as perhaps this is a feature on other plans.

Alternatives considered

[BombBomb](https://www.capterra.com/p/117295/BombBomb/)[Vidyard](https://www.capterra.com/p/125653/Vidyard/)

Reason for choosing Loom

Loom is FREE and although BomBomb is a great product and has a tons of features they were a bit redundant to my CRM so I didn't need all those features and didn't want to pay more for features I didn't need or already had with my CRM. If you don't have a CRM then you could make the case for BombBomb as then it is well worth the money as a CRM with Video Email.

### "Loom is a great software "

May 4, 2022

4.0

Very good experience, if I had the means to pay for higher plan for me and the company, I would. But I had to switch to another option which offered almost the same features and options for free.

Pros

You can actually do a lot with Loom. It was the first screen record tool I have been using within our company and fior personal project. You can record your screen and talk/share at the same time. You can also decide whether you want you face to be seen on-screen or not, it's a great feature if you want those watching to know it's you presenting.

Cons

Once you reach 5 minutes, it stops. 5 minutes or more videos, require you to take a higher paying plan.

### "Horrible experience with Loom - warning everyone"

April 25, 2023

1.0

I used Loom for 2 months, and experienced several instances of video recording randomly stopping. There was no pattern to it and no explanation. Randomly, it would just stop recording mid video. However, the infuriating part is that THERE IS NO INDICATION THE RECORDING HAS STOPPED. I'd just keep making video, hit save, and find out my 5 minute video was actually a 37 second video, and I'd just wasted a bunch of time. This has been an issue that has plagued me since day one, and I have attempted to reach out to support only to learn THERE IS NO SUPPORT. It's just a feature request system - it's a joke. This is a terrible tool, it has wasted hours of productivity, and I would strongly caution anyone from using it. It is unreliable and there is no support.

Pros

At first glance, Loom seemed like a great screen recording tool that saved time.

Cons

Screen recording feature randomly fails - you'll be making a video to explain something to someone, and recording will stop. However, you won't \*know\* recording has stopped, so you'll waste minutes talking away, hit save, and find out your video didn't fully record. Infuriating.

I switched from Camtasia because Loom automatically uploaded and stored videos for me, saving me a step.

### "For visual learners"

August 11, 2021

5.0

I can't even begin to describe how much time loom has saved me. I adore this app.

Pros

Loom is perfect for visual learners like me. I work with most of my clients using loom. This allows for a level of collaboration that is hard to achieve otherwise. Different timezones and schedule can make it hard to get on a zoom together every time we need to go over something. Loom solves the time issue and allows for quicker, better communication in comparison to emails or phone calls.

Cons

The biggest con to loom is something they wouldn't be able to fix anyways. Obviously being on a video call and discussing is better and quicker. Otherwise Loom hits the nail on the head.

### "I Love This Application"

December 18, 2019

5.0

Application, add-in, software, Life-changing thingy . . . call it what you will, Loom has changed my life and could very well yours, too. I'm serious. I use Loom not only for teaching, which has made a huge difference in my effectiveness--especially with online teaching, but also for communication with any number of people in my role as a Dean in higher education. People actually think I know what I'm talking about and think that I'm effective when all I do is use Loom. Very few products or services are this user friendly and this consequential in delivering on outcomes that matter. Use Loom; you won't regret it, and it might just change your life.

Pros

Ease of Use; functionality to organize videos online; length of videos even in the free version.

Cons

That you have to pay to get premium features, now (they used to be revolutionary in that you didn't have to pay for it) and that unlike Jing, you can't just drag and capture whatever you want--it's either your screen of the application in you're in.

Every time I need to record something for my team and/or our clients I hop on Loom.

Pros

People appreciate Loom for its ease of use, quick video recording and sharing capabilities, and the ability to combine screen capture with webcam footage. It enhances remote communication effectively. So do I!

Cons

### "The best choice for Video Recording, makes your remote life ten times better. "

February 19, 2022

5.0

It's been great, unproblematic and just... easy! Thank you for that.

Pros

I love how easy and straightforward it is. You look at it and know how to use it. Loom is one of the useful platforms for me as a manager and for the whole team, especially during pandemic, it became the crucial part of the workflow since we needed to exchange quite huge amount of information via video recordings.

Cons

I'll be honest, nothing comes to my mind simply because Loom provides everything that I need personally.

### "Excellent feedback tool"

February 10, 2021

5.0

Clients appreciate getting video feedback. It is so efficient and conveys the message so much more efficiently than without it.

Pros

Loom is an indispensable tool that improves feedback to clients and project stakeholders. I like the fact that we can record screen and camera and share easily. The new transcription feature is useful as well since we work with many individuals for which English is their second language.

Cons

Editing a video is a bit clunky. Selecting a part of the video is not easy, clicking on the up / down arrow incites a freakish repetition sequence that is super annoying. I hope they fix this. Edits also take too long to process, sometimes 30 minutes or an hour or longer, just to delete a short clip of the video.

### "Awesome app that helps you boost your communication with clients"

December 18, 2019

5.0

Pros

Very easy to use and pretty reliable. The competitors offer lower quality in general while working with Loom feels like a professional tool. I really like the core concept and it works perfectly: just hit record on your desktop and when you are done, it's already on the cloud and ready to be sent in an email or Slack message. I use Loom whenever I need to add clarity to the files I'm sending. When I send designs to clients or team mates, I'll make them watch a Loom recording so that they get the full picture. However, I discovered more and more cases to use Loom - pretty much whenever an email is not enough to get the message across.

Cons

There were some minor flaws with the tool but recently (in the last year) I didn't really experience any bugs or issues with the connection. I guess the only thing they could improve is to hide the avatar/video by default since if I don't want to record myself using the camera, I don't see a lot of point in having my avatar visible in the bottom-left corner. I need to get rid of that each time I launch the tool.

### "Very easy to use tool with Chrome Extension"

July 21, 2022

5.0

It has been very easy and positive. Videos are easily shared, communication is easy.

Pros

It's very self-intuitive and lets you create video tutorials and company manuals for standard operating procedures, onboarding, etc. Definitely takes away a headache, especially working with freelancers and virtual assistants.

Cons

The 5 minute video limit on the free plan. I believe it should be extended a little bit. Also, you cannot download the videos into your computer.

Reason for choosing Loom

Because of the simple setup, the friendly interface and overall easy of use. I'm not a "tech" person, I need to have all the information passed on to the team with ease and without interrupting my workflow.

### "Asynchronous Video Communication - Great for International Teams"

August 27, 2022

5.0

Love using Loom to make any major Slack announcements even more engaging. And it's been great for our product team to teach us how to use new functionality so we can show our customers.

Pros

I work for an international company and it can be hard to find time to meet that works for everyone. Loom makes it easy to create walk-through videos so we can show colleagues how to do things, amp people up, etc.—all asynchronously.

Cons

The editing features are getting better, but they still aren't as amazing as tools like CapCut. They're clearly working on it, though. You can even stitch multiple videos together, which is fantastic if you have a few takes that you want to merge.

### "Instant screen capturing at your fingertips!"

March 3, 2022

5.0

I would rate Loom 7/10. It makes sharing & team collaboration very easy and effective!

Pros

Easy to use software with a very lite UI. You can share the recording hassle-free with your team members with a sharable public link. No need to signup to see the recording via the link. They have a freemium version as well, which is cheery on the cake!

Cons

Once a software update comes, you need to update else who won't be able to use this software. This is very annoying with frequent software updates in the Desktop Application of Loom.

### "A GREAT product for screen capture and demonstrations"

December 18, 2019

5.0

I am responsible for instructing faculty on how to use software - the Loom system allows me to 'show and tell' via video how to do various things, how to solve problems, etc. Many faculty tell me they keep my loom videos and refer to them later.

Pros

There is a lot I like about this software - it's ease of use, it's library of my saved files, the option to download the video into .mp4 format to name a few. I like that I can rename the videos, that I can paste the link and have it play when my recipients click the link. I like the options to use screen only, static picture of myself, or video of myself in the corner while doing the demonstration. I also like the 'desktop' option for screencapture so if my video crosses programs I can have it on the same video!

Cons

The one thing I would really like is a 'screen shot' option. I currently need to use another program for screenshots that allow me to take a screenshot, draw arrows and circles, and captions. Since Loom is only video I need to use both programs....but Loom is so great, I don't mind the hassle.
