Similar interface to Zoom, Skype, etc. Ease of recording and Chrome extension really boosted the product's usefulness. Cons The only issue was that one older person on my team would always forget to record, complaining about it being too hard to use. Turned out they never read any of the how-to's or the use documentation. I love using it directly from my phone. I dislike that I cant download my videos with the free version. Pros I like that Loom is so easy to use. You can record a video on your phone and then easily upload or send it to someone. Cons I dont like that you can't download ypur video with the free version. Loom is riding the way of video content crucial for internal and external alignment as you scale. Pros Loom is such an incredibly easy tool to use across the company. We've used a few solutions in the past including slack recordings and clickup but truthfully, Loom has far more powerful capabilities via their rich feature set. Instant embed is a huge feature for us enabling you to simply copy and paste a link. The ability to measure insights and analytics on videos is important given we use Loom for external business development. In addition, the ability to tag others in a video, comment and engage supercharges your ability to work seamlessly across timezones. We have employees all over the world so it's crucial. Cons The biggest challenge was whether we actually choose a dedicated video platform (additional charges + additional learning internally and yet another tool). ClickUp is getting far more sophisticated with recordings and of course, you want to consolidate as much as you possibly can. Pros It's so easy to get started, just connect, provide permissions, and you're ready to go. Getting into it and using is effortless. Cons Editing isn't hard, but it can be confusing. At times I was unsure if I was deleting the selected portion, or the rest of the video. Pros Loom helped make popular the concept of sending screen recordings via a link. After you record a screen-share its quickly uploaded and a link to the video created. It does this much faster than Google drive does. Cons Sometimes with software like Loom they start with a great concept eg easily make screen recordings that can be quickly shared via a link but then in an effort to improve it they add lots of options that you dont need so the UI is a bit cluttered. Pros Loom makes training and collaboration super easy. It permanently lives on my desktop, in case I need to show a team member how to do something. I think any team with Customer Success activities or that works with multiple digital tools that require onboarding needs to use this. Cons On Mac, it "bounces" off your Mac Deck frequently. It is always refreshing and it is distracting. Sometimes it doesn't save your preferences (such as recording with your mic off), but it is easy to adjust. Sometimes, it feels a little bit invasive. I like mostly that Loom creates links and the record can see everybody that has the link. It is very easy to use to report bugs. My favorite screen recorder tool for testing. But with the help of Loom, my client is able to provide and guide me thru the process using screen recording. In that way, I am able to finish the task on time and accurately. And it saves time since I can just watch the video again without needing to call or talk with my client. They also roll out new features so I feel they really listen to feedback. Pros I love how easy it is to use, even if you are not tech-savvy it's easy to use. It's easy to organize my recordings with folders and share them with team members and clients. It saves me so much time by creating short screen recordings versus having to have a meeting. It's also low-cost compared to other software solutions. Cons I have no cons for it, I think it's great. Even the free account offers a lot. It's easy to set-up and easy to use and get going. Been really helpful for me when trying to train the team on different jobs. Remote meeting especially with my associates don't overlap well so Loom enabled us to stop staying up late or waking up early for meetings2. I often need to create content for Linked i.e. Video screen recording. Before Loom I used the Wink or Windows Gaming Video capture all of which were not a seamless experience. I often had to use an additional application to slice and dice the videos and had no way of adding transcripts intuitively. Pros I like the ease of use of Loom, the screen recording and video editing features are especially useful. The ease of sharing and integration with other tools such as Gmail and Slack are awesome. Cons I was a bit disappointed with the Android app experience, the app does not work as seamlessly as the Chrome and Desktop app. I also think the Starter package should have the CTA feature on the limited features allowed. I think this will provide more value for content creators and enable more organic customers from recommendations by existing users Reason for choosing Loom Loom is inexpensive and has a rich feature set. I have used the business package at $8/Month which is a great bargain.
