### "Very robust, inexpensive, doesn’t take an accounting degree and my customers love it. "

February 28, 2026

5.0

My customers love the ease of paying bills with the click of a button in an email and you can also send a text. Customer service is effective although it’s incredibly rare I need it. It is a stable program that get continual upgrades. It allows me to track my hours, receipts and makes invoicing easy so that I don’t have to worry about making mistakes. I need a simplified system because my workload is erratic.

Pros

I have used QuickBooks for decades. QuickBooks online is incredibly nice because you can access it from any laptop and it has a phone app. I primarily use the phone app. It’s a robust program that gives small businesses like myself a way to track accounting, invoicing and credit card, etc. payments all in o e and at an affordable rate.

Cons

None. They keep upgrading to allow for better features and ease of use. They also expand on integration from third party apps to make it even easier to use.

### "Must give a try!"

February 23, 2026

5.0

Pros

Quickbooks Online has been an absolute game changer for our company. We use to use Quickbooks desktop and after switching to online — it’s noticeably easier to use and has so many more features.

Cons

I can honestly say there isn’t anything about Quickbooks Online that I did not like! Has been a very much needed upgrade for our company.

### "no mileage reports for tax purposes"

April 3, 2026

1.0

Not at all efficient. QuickBooks "experts" often are unable to problem-solve, resulting in many transfers

Pros

I think the most helpful thing about QuickBooks is that it remembers my username and password, which lets me sign in quickly.

Cons

I don't think Intuit understands the needs of small businesses and the importance of tracking deductions. I have spent over an hour and a half with customer support to learn that there is no way to run a report that reflects only business miles, even though they are tracked. My accountant doesn't care about my personal trips. So, I have to download all trips into an Excel spreadsheet and delete the personal miles.

### "An Essential Tool for a Remote Accounting Practice"

December 17, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with QuickBooks Online has been very positive. It has allowed me to create a lifestyle business by giving me the flexibility to work remotely and serve clients efficiently from anywhere. At the same time, it has helped push my career in accounting forward by supporting advisory work, improving collaboration with clients, and streamlining day-to-day workflows.

Pros

What I like most about QuickBooks Online is the remote access, which allows me to work from anywhere in the world. Being cloud-based makes it incredibly flexible and practical for modern accounting and advisory work. Additional things I really appreciate about QBO include: Real-time collaboration – Multiple users (clients, bookkeepers, and accountants) can work in the file at the same time without version issues. Automatic bank and credit card feeds – Transactions import daily, saving significant data entry time and reducing errors. Strong integration ecosystem – QBO connects easily with payroll, payment processors, inventory apps, CRM tools, and tax software. User-friendly interface – The layout is intuitive, making it easier to train clients and review their books efficiently. Anytime access to financial reports – Profit & loss, balance sheets, and custom reports are available instantly, which is great for advisory and decision-making. Secure cloud storage – No worrying about lost files or local backups; everything is stored securely online. Scalability – QBO works just as well for startups and small businesses as it does for growing companies with more complex needs. Mobile app functionality – The mobile app allows quick checks, invoicing, and receipt capture on the go. Automatic updates – No manual software updates; new features and improvements roll out seamlessly.

Cons

What I like least about QuickBooks Online is that it has undergone a lot of changes over time. While updates and new features can be helpful, frequent changes to the interface and workflows can sometimes slow things down and require retraining or adjustment. That said, these changes are clearly aimed at improving functionality and modernizing the platform, and I’m hopeful they will ultimately turn out for the best as the product continues to evolve.

### "Long time user "

Overall I have been using it for years and it has good value for the price. My accountant can also log in to my account and see what he needs to file my tax returns.

Pros

Quickbooks online makes creating a profit and loss statement very easy, even if you have zero accounting experience.

Cons

QuickBooks is constantly updating it’s dashboard/interface I wish it would just stab the same it can make it hard to locate tabs that you are used to using.

Pros

Some of the things that I like about QuickBooks online are the mileage tracker, enhance reporting, and vendor tracking

Cons

The long load times, constant price increases and the square integration is the things I hate most about Quickbooks. Instead of improving the platform they chose to add unnecessary stuff which ultimately messed up my books.

### "Quickbooks does it all! "

March 23, 2026

5.0

We have had a great experience overall. Again, it is one of those programs that is really essential for running a business. You are able to do so much, and with the proper training you can really succeed.

Pros

Quickbooks is a great program for easily sending invoices and receiving payments. Although it did have a few bugs in the early stages and we encountered some issues, they seem to resolve them pretty quickly. It is very user friendly and easy to train. It is a great 'one stop shop' of invoicing, payments, financial reports and bookkeeping.

Cons

The customer support is not all that great, and it is difficult to get in touch with someone who understands your issue. The fees for credit card payments are more than other programs, but overall it is good value for the money because of all the things you can do.

### "Powerful Tool for Small Business"

March 16, 2026

4.0

Once the initial deer-in-headlights trauma that happens when you first experience the platform and you really start to understand how everything works together (bills, invoices, reporting, etc) then it becomes as powerful a tool as any business can get.

Pros

What is particularly useful to us is it's integration with our project management software. It easily and seamlessly transfers data back and forth and has reduced or eliminated double entry. A huge time saver. For a monthly fee of under $100, Quickbooks online gives us full financial insight into the profitability of our projects as well as for our company as a whole. We have not experienced any issues or glitches or anything similar. QBO has been a solid, dependable partner for our business

Cons

I often wondered why QBO does not have a learning portal readily available within our account. If it does exist, then it is not as prominent than I feel it should be.

### "One place for all things business"

February 19, 2026

4.0

Pros

I use Quickbooks for our company for years. It made it easy to write estimates, send and then invoice. The features ware great and the Ai integration is helpful. I like how we can have one place for everything business and it’s a trusted name in the construction world.

Cons

I feel the pricing could be better and the required add-ons are a pain and sometimes the app is glitchy.

### "User Friendly and Does What it Says it Can Do"

The cost is financially feasible and provides a great value in the ability to invoice clients, prepare financial statements at various timelines and compare to prior period.

Pros

The program is intuitive and offers as much guidance with helpful hints, as needed. There are several ways to obtain support when a problem occurs.

Cons

The interface just recently changed and it's appearance is totally different until you drill down and find the familiar.

### "QuickBooks Online from QuickBooks Desktop"

December 15, 2025

5.0

We have been using QuickBooks for the my entire tenure with the company (since 2017). We switched from QuickBooks Desktop and i was nervous but the transition was smooth and the differences easy to understand and navigate.

Pros

Very user friendly, provides accounting tools that we can use in office and translate well for our accountant too.

Cons

I actually can't think of a negative. We are super happy with the software. There is nothing I would change.

### "QB Online - Not As Expected"

December 2, 2025

1.0

Again, severely disappointed knowing the strength of QuickBooks desktop. Everything is very restrictive and limited. It's almost like the company went backwards BUT the sales people will tell you it's even better than the desktop version. Intuit just wasn't very intuitive when developing this software.

Pros

A few of the biggest benefits are: 1. Ability for multiple people to be access the accounting information regardless of their location. 2. The price point also seems very reasonable when compared to the QuickBooks desktop version. 3. It is great not having to hassle with a software upgrade on an annual basis. 4. The ability to take credit cards and ACH payments works well & has actually made a positive impact on our ability to collect customer accounts quicker.

Cons

QuickBooks online fails in several areas when compared to the desktop version: 1. I either cannot get logged in or get kicked out during the worse possible times. It is not a frequent occurrence but enough to be frustrating 2. Posting data does not always result in immediate update of information. 3. There is a lag in the system - note that I am connected with fiber optics and still feel the pain here. 4. Sales tax is a nightmare which is difficult to understand as the desktop version was so easy once properly set up. I could go on with several examples but overall very disappointed with the software when I know the desktop version is so robust.

### "Great accounting software for bookkeepers and business owners"

October 22, 2025

4.0

I have used QuickBooks Online for the past 7 years to run my bookkeeping firm. I have tried other softwares and do not find they are as user friendly for both bookkeepers and business owners.

Pros

I like QuickBooks online for its ability to access it from anywhere. I like the mobile app for quick recording and snapping pictures of receipts. The financial reports are great to be able to analyze the health of your business. Quickbooks makes collecting payments from customers easy. Their customer support is helpful and quick to respond.

Cons

I do not like how often they are changing features and am not a fan of the new invoicing layout. Quickbooks fees seem to be continually increasing as well and I find it hard to sell it to clients when the fees increase frequently.

Reason for choosing QuickBooks Online

### "Robust but expensive, QBO remains a must-have for small business owners"

September 18, 2025

4.0

I had bad bookkeepers/CPAs when I first started, making my QBO experience tougher than it needed to be. Now with a highly competent bookkeeping team and new AI tools for uploading receipts and invoices, things have improved and I'm getting the business data that I need.

Pros

Wide integration across many different SaaS products. Nearly all bookkeepers and accountants are familiar with using QBO. it is comprehensive and offers every feature you could want. Strong reporting tools to generate financial data and derive the necessary insights for good business decisions. Offers invoicing, payroll, and even lending options to further strengthen the value proposition. Recent rollout of AI tools have been solid.

Cons

QBO is very expensive and complex. Most business owners need a professional bookkeeper or CPA to use QBO effectively.

Pros

I use QuickBooks Online for financial reports, appreciate its ease of use, and find it offers good value for money. Financial Reports, Ease of use, value for money,

### "Seeing the whole picture -easily!"

November 17, 2025

5.0

I have used QuickBooks online in a couple of different jobs, and it is very user friendly. I love that I can figure out what report to run, to give a holistic picture of what is going on, financially, at any given time. Or if you don't want the whole picture, and just want to look up how much was paid to a specific person/vendor this year, its so easy. I suppose that is the short and long of it - ease of use for a clear picture, so we can make well-informed decisions about finances. For my other job, running payroll is so easy - and sending out W2's & 1099-MISC/NEC's are a breeze! And gathering documents for the 990-PF would be unendurable without QuickBooks Online! I cannot think of a more glowing endorsement than that!

Pros

Love the banking feed option; and the different ways I can access and organize data. I prefer the Classic View over the modern view, just for the ability to view the Profit & Loss report, organized a month at a time, YTD, or just the totals for a particular Class (or Initiative, in my case)

Cons

Right now, the part that I just don't appreciate, is the default to "Modern View" - as it doesn't grant me the same ways to organize information as Classic View - and there is no way that I have found to default to Classic View.

### "Super Accounting Solution in one package."

October 30, 2025

5.0

QuickBooks Online provides a modern, cloud-based accounting experience designed for small to medium-sized businesses that value convenience, automation, and collaboration. Overall, users find it intuitive, flexible, and efficient for managing day-to-day financial tasks without needing advanced accounting expertise. All I found that QuickBooks Online is great for businesses those are totally online.

Pros

1\. Because QBO is fully online, you (or your bookkeeper) can access financials from any device with internet, which is useful when you’re working remotely or on the go. 2. Since the financial data is online, sharing access with your accountant or bookkeeper is simpler (e.g., no need to send files back and forth).

Cons

1\. Being cloud-based means if your internet is spotty or slow (which might be a consideration in Kampala or remote work situations), you’ll run into disruptions. 2. QBO uses a monthly subscription. Over time this cost adds up, and certain advanced features are only unlocked in higher tiers.

### "Okay, but not great"

January 28, 2026

2.0

When first developed it was strong. Lately they have integrated Ai with every window and it really slows down the overall performance and speed of the platform.

Pros

It's an adequate financial software for small entities. It can sync bank and credit card accounts to make life easier.

Cons

Customer support is terrible. Payroll processing is not worth the investment, especially in Ohio. The payroll team is terrible at locality taxes.

### "I use QuickBooks for my business and LOVE it!"

September 19, 2025

5.0

I own a small business and use QuickBooks for all of my income and expenses throughout the year. I have used this platform for about 5 years now.

Pros

I use QuickBooks for my business and LOVE it! I'm able to track ALL of my bank accounts (multiple banks), credit cards and mileage all within their portal. It's easy to use, it auto starts when I start driving. Invoices are easy to generate and end of year reporting is great which I can share with my accountant for tax filing purposes.

Cons

Sometimes the mileage tracking doesn't work and every so often the bank accounts will disconnect. While it's not usually a big deal to reconnect the bank accounts, sometimes it can be a pain. I would like to figure out why the mileage tracking has issues but it seems to be better more recently than it was a few months ago.

### "QuickBooks Online: Great if Not a Little Disconnected"

October 7, 2025

5.0

Generally QuickBooks Online is a great tool for what we use it for. It has robust financial reporting that we use daily and the invoicing system is super solid. We don't plan to get rid of it any time soon.

Pros

Quickbooks has high quality reports that make it easy to pull data on necessary topics. Itemized reports make running payroll a breeze. There are hardly ever issues with the reports and the data and syncing is accurate. This is incredibly valuable for the price tag attached. Invoicing generally is smooth and reconciliations are quick. Each time we've needed customer support, it's been quick and there is a clear resolution.

Cons

The integration can be costly to attach to our current HRIS and can make the system feel a bit disjointed. Due to that, we don't have it linked to our attendance/time tracking systems that we do in our HRIS. This disconnect can make the ease of use lower because there's inherently more passwords and clicks to get where you want to go.

### "Mixed Bag But Worth It"

December 1, 2025

4.0

It's a mixed bag; they change the software a lot, leaving me lost and searching for items I use regularly and the help files are often outdated. But their customer service is really good and when I have to use it, my issues are usually resolved in one interaction. Overall, the ease of generating invoices and accepting payments outweighs the headaches.

Pros

Ease of use for me and for customers. I can easily add services and products and sending a payment link to customers is easy; I can either email them directly from Quickbooks or copy a link to send from my own email.

Cons

Frequent changes to interface with little or no explanation. Things I use regularly like invoicing moves and I have to dig deep to find it. They also separated the customer database from the invoicing tab which is counter-intuitive.

### "avoid like the black plague"

December 12, 2025

1.0

Very poor experience, was lied to by the salesperson. We tried the online version at a discount and were told we could switch back to the desktop anytime with help from the support desk. No help. The salesman is no longer with the company, and there is no written agreement to back our claim; it's my fault for that problem. Since it is now December, we are going to print out two years of detail reports, journal entries, General ledger and any other information we think we will need, and start the new year fresh with a different accounting software provider

Pros

User-Friendly Layout, Not much I can say I like about the software. The Desktop is better than online, trying to switch back. They make it very hard to switch back. No support with this option

Cons

Buggy software, High-pressure sales. Some of the tech support isn't up to date with the software; it's hit-or-miss when it comes to getting good support—no option for hard-copy backup. Very frustrating to use, stop allowing QB to integrate with Bank account, too many double entries, making bank and credit card reconciliation a problem.

### "The right solution for companies growing and mobile."

December 11, 2025

5.0

Pros

Beyond the amazing attributes of QuickBooks as a software program that I could rattle off here, the icing on the cake is the online version. I travel a lot and often times would not be able to VPN in and access a remote desktop to access QuickBooks. Having access to QUickBooks through it's online platform is amazing and robust, and most of all, always up to date.

Cons

My least favorite aspect of QuickBooks Online is the reporting flexibility. For a cloud-based platform, it offers fewer customization options than expected, and exporting to Excel is often required to get the format needed. It’s not a deal breaker, but it does add friction to month-end processes.

### "Payroll Tax Support and ProAdvisor Support gets 1 Star!!!"

July 28, 2025

1.0

My overall experience has been okay. There has been a few times over the last five years that there was a glitch in their software (sales tax at one point and bank connectivity issues) where they had to escalate the the problem to a higher level.

Pros

QuickBooks On-line is generally easy to use if you have a good understanding of how QuickBooks Online works, and accounting principles to properly set up chart of accounts, and to properly categorize. If you don't know what you are doing, you can make a big mess quite quickly causing inflating income or expenses from duplicated transactions, and chart of account set-up errors.

Cons

Customer service is good if you come to them with basic software understanding questions. If you have payroll tax or ProAdvisor Profile issues they are awful!!! They send you generic 'do not reply' emails that say the same thing over and over again. I have them file my payroll taxes. They messed up, on a couple of situations. The IRS sent me a letter stating they would levy my account if I didn't make a payment. As far as the ProAdvisor Profile, after 5 generic rejection emails, and 8 to 10 (no exaggerations) phone calls to Intuit, it still isn't fixed. They don't allow you to speak directly to the person who sends the emails, and they don't know how to fix the issue themselves.
