Hellotax promised first-class support – unfortunately, this promise has not been fulfilled. By now, I am so desperate that I am considering seeking legal assistance. Working with the ticket system is extremely frustrating: every follow-up question seems to take me right back to the starting point, without any real progress being made. The current situation with the Polish tax office is particularly stressful. Due to a goods transfer to Poland, I am now facing significant trouble because Hellotax is apparently unable to submit my documents correctly or clearly explain where the problem lies. Since my Polish language skills are limited, I rely on clear and reliable support – but that is precisely what I am not receiving. Despite the high costs, practically nothing works. From my point of view, I am left with no choice but to give one star. The entire process has been a complete disaster. If you have the option to switch to another provider, do yourself a favor and choose a better service provider. Pros Very expensive. Poor performance. Unfortunately, I paid for a year. Despite our initial good relationship with Hellotax, since December 2024 they have continued to direct debit our bank account despite failing to file our VAT data or address the technological issues with their online platform that have prevented us from paying our VAT to the appropriate tax authorities. This has led to us experiencing compliance issues with various tax authorities, as well as having to pay for the services of another VAT filing company despite the continued illegal direct debit of our bank account for their VAT filing services. DO NOT SIGN UP TO HELLOTAX. They are a fraudulent company engaging in theft and serious mismanagement. Pros I have no Pros to report. Hellotax are very obviously engaging in fraudulent and illegal practices, and are continuing to steal from our small business whilst not providing the services that we have paid for. I have been trying to deal with this escalating situation since December 2024 and have still not been able to find a resolution. Every day I get a different reason from a different staff person with an excuse for not filing my VAT. Pros I so regret that I signed up with Hello Tax. It's been more than a month and they have yet to do anything. I get contradictory emails from their staff- one tells me they're all set with access to the VAT Gateway and then another email comes telling me they have no access. i no longer believe anything they tell me. Clearly they do not communicate with each other. Cons They are completely incompetent and their staff doesn't have a clue. As long as these users do not check up on them and understand that big mistakes are made they'll feel fine and happy. But sooner or later the situation will explode. They are one of the cheapest in this line of business, but you get what you pay for. Bad advice, horrible service and no idea of what they are doing. I urge anyone considering going to these people to really stay away from them. Pros The price was one of the lowest when I was comparing them to the other options and they offered fiscal representation. I needed that as a non-EU business, so my options were limited. Cons \- Letters from tax offices delivered after 6 months if at all. This leads to problems and fines escalating. - Mistakes are made with settings. This company for example did not take into account that in order to charge VAT to the destination country, you first need to either breach the distance selling threshold to that country or you need to inform the local tax office that you will lift the thresholds. They never bothered to do that for any of their customers and just went ahead charging destination country VAT everywhere. This means A LOT of the tax returns they file have been incorrect since they started. They also quite bluntly refuse to correct them. As the customer it is YOUR problem and they really do not care about you. - For most of the mistakes they make, they will try to charge you a fee of £200-250 or €200-250 (the amount and currency kind of change a lot). Fines that are sent by a tax office are on you, even if it was their mistake. - When you make it clear to them that you are not going to pay anything anymore until they fix the problems they created, they will abandon you and ignore you. - They do not generate invoices for transactions, which meant I had to use another company for those. In the mean time I guess Amazon is doing that. - Many mistakes with zero-rated zones like the Canary Islands, where they happily charged Spanish VAT. Any changes in tax regulations are notified to us immediately through the portal. Pros The portal is extremely easy to use. Once you connect it to your Amazon Seller account, all data is automatically fed through. For selling channel that are not connected, you can upload a spreadsheet. Cons Nothing really. It takes little time to learn the software and everything is quite self-explanatory. Reason for choosing hellotax The service won us over. Even with the time difference, we are able to get our questions answered quickly (within reasonable EU operating hours). Their customer service is impeccable, and they are very knowledgeable as well. That was a total disaster. After that we switched to another provider, where things went just as badly. Nothing worked, communication was extremely poor. After two years full of problems, we switched to HelloTax. Due to the previous problems, the change was not easy and there were many problems, but this was due to the preparatory work of the other providers. After the change was made after almost half a year, everything slowly began to find a rhythm and became a self-running system Pros Easy to use, intuitiv, very detailed, many options Cons At the beginning we had some problems with our account.
