Communication with the contact person works perfectly. Pros What sets Hellotax apart are two things: Firstly, the network of tax advisors in the respective countries, allowing us to benefit from country-specific expertise. Secondly, the user-friendly online platform, which automatically imports the relevant data and serves as an exchange platform with the tax advisors. This increases the efficiency of VAT returns in each country. Cons The dashboard could be technically improved, as not all workflows run smoothly. Furthermore, the onboarding process and help pages should be expanded. It's not easy for new users to find their way around at first. Communication was very fast, instructions regarding the required documents were clear, emails were answered very accurately and quickly, and every procedure was approached professionally. Pros Very fast communication, good responsiveness, precise instructions regarding the documents, so that no additional documents were needed. Cons For us beginners, the price could have been a little more affordable and would have taken into account our initial high costs in other areas as well. Hellotax promised first-class support – unfortunately, this promise has not been fulfilled. By now, I am so desperate that I am considering seeking legal assistance. Working with the ticket system is extremely frustrating: every follow-up question seems to take me right back to the starting point, without any real progress being made. The current situation with the Polish tax office is particularly stressful. Due to a goods transfer to Poland, I am now facing significant trouble because Hellotax is apparently unable to submit my documents correctly or clearly explain where the problem lies. Since my Polish language skills are limited, I rely on clear and reliable support – but that is precisely what I am not receiving. Despite the high costs, practically nothing works. From my point of view, I am left with no choice but to give one star. The entire process has been a complete disaster. If you have the option to switch to another provider, do yourself a favor and choose a better service provider. Pros Very expensive. Poor performance. Unfortunately, I paid for a year. The support team seems incompetent. Uploading data to the app is very difficult. Their team consistently delivers strong communication, reliable follow-up, and comprehensive VAT support across the UK and EU. Despite some delays, they remain transparent and responsive, making them a dependable partner for cross-border VAT compliance. Pros The Sales and Support team is very responsive, even when immediate resolution isn’t possible—they always follow through until the issue is resolved. Emails are never left unanswered, and communication is consistently timely, even under the New Seller subscription. As an American company, we received full support in navigating UK VAT and HMRC processes, with issues resolved within an exemplary timeframe. Currently working with them on Germany VAT registration, and their Sales team is again assisting us professionally and thoroughly. Cons Some solutions can take longer than expected, especially when third-party partners in different countries are involved. While they do keep you updated throughout, there is room for improvement in speeding up the resolution time. Despite our initial good relationship with Hellotax, since December 2024 they have continued to direct debit our bank account despite failing to file our VAT data or address the technological issues with their online platform that have prevented us from paying our VAT to the appropriate tax authorities. This has led to us experiencing compliance issues with various tax authorities, as well as having to pay for the services of another VAT filing company despite the continued illegal direct debit of our bank account for their VAT filing services. DO NOT SIGN UP TO HELLOTAX. They are a fraudulent company engaging in theft and serious mismanagement. Pros I have no Pros to report. Hellotax are very obviously engaging in fraudulent and illegal practices, and are continuing to steal from our small business whilst not providing the services that we have paid for. I have been trying to deal with this escalating situation since December 2024 and have still not been able to find a resolution. Cons Appalling customer service, and continued illegal direct debiting of our company bank account despite 6 months of attempts for this to cease.
