Overall the TaxDome experience has been great. The software is great to use but there is a learning curve. One definitely needs to invest time and resources to get it going properly to make the office more efficient.

Pros

I really like that it automizes a lot of our tasks and communication with our clients. It has made our office much more efficient. I also like that we can charge the client within TaxDome by connecting our Stripe account.

Cons

I do not like the fact that digital boards have not been working since we started using TaxDome about a year and a half ago. We have continuously been reaching to the TaxDome team about the issue. They keep telling us that the issue will be worked on. However, it still has not been fixed. It would be amazing if they functioned correctly.

I’ve always had nothing but great things to say about TaxDome. They are everything you need to be successful in the tax prep/accounting industry. The templates are formatted for exactly what is needed and it saves so much time.

Pros

TaxDome is truly an all-in-one practice management suite. The automations save so much time, the communication features allow for a seamless interaction with clients, the integrated website is invaluable! Time tracking, billing, workflow automation, payment processing, scheduling, I mean it’s all there. They continue to make improvements and it’s amazing. The customer service is unmatched they are always available and willing to help. The entire tax management process is seamless it allows for step-by-step support. The organizers are easily reviewed and edited, the pipelines when set up properly allow the workflow to go over easy, and the tax return delivery amongst the abilities to tick mark and never into a single PDF are just game changers. The price has gone up but it still saves a tons of money!

Cons

It is a bit difficult to get acclimated to. You’ll have to take some time to get the automations set up properly and to create a process that flows. Once you do that it’s great. The website builder feature it a bit limited from others but it still creates a beautiful, manageable site.

I've been very frustrated with the "New Features" that are listed as coming out on a certain date. Then that date comes and goes and it's STILL not available. For months and months past when it was originally stated to come out. The overall experience is good, but don't promise things that you can't deliver is my overall message.

Pros

I like the project management part of the software. Also, the automated features saves a lot of time. For example, auto emailing clients for status updates and being able to bulk email a bunch of clients at once.

Cons

The billing part of the software is extremely frustrating. I've been very frustrated with the "New Features" that are listed as coming out on a certain date. Then that date comes and goes and it's STILL not available. For months and months past when it was originally stated to come out. I need to be able to delete a payment from an invoice if the client's payment fails, but this is not an option. Also, the lack of being able to apply a partial payment in many cases is just ridiculous.

Cons

There is a significant learning curve and implementation hurdle. My experience has been positive, but I haven’t had to get with support or have any issues. My firm is small so not a ton opportunities for software failure.

Pros

TaxDome is pretty user friendly considering how much it offers. I needed time tracking and it makes it very easy to bill that way. Once everything was customized for how I ran my firm, it’s a snap to do anything. Receiving payments is also really easy for the client. I especially appreciated the engagement letter templates and the organizers. Organizers are a bear to create from scratch, these are easy to modify and the client can fill them out easily. They can even upload documents right into the organizer so the don’t forget to upload later. The price is worth it, in my opinion. They usually have specials on the fall to get it going before tax season ramps up. I have not had to call support yet, everything worked pretty well.

Cons

There is still a decent fee for receiving payments through TaxDome payments. I also wish there were more templates that didn’t cost a lot.

It's been rough. Hopefully that is behind us. Still trying to work on some things but it isn't terrible once you get through the set up. It has Ease of use marked in green, but that is not the case.

Pros

I like that you can pull IRS tax transcripts straight from there. And once you do get all the way of setting it up, the automations are great if they do what you need them to do.

Cons

That I had to set up the entire software, it's lengthy process and takes forever. You literally have to set everything up, you can't just get to work. Plan to have several months/Pay extra for lessons, and extra for one-on-one time, of set up before you can actually use.

We’ve had a very positive experience with TaxDome. Overall, it has made our tax season run much more smoothly and has helped streamline our workflow, client communication, and document management. The setup process is definitely time-consuming and can feel a bit overwhelming at first. However, the TaxDome support team was consistently friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout the process, which made a big difference. Once everything was up and running, the system became a great asset to our firm. I would absolutely recommend TaxDome to other firms—just be sure to give yourself plenty of time to set it up properly and learn the platform before your busy season begins.

Pros

it's all-in-one management platform is very helpful. You can do anything in client's account, and check any updates from there

Cons

When you set up a job, you can not make it show on the job list on a scheduled date, it has to be shown at once and makes a little confusion for the job list

Overall good , but we are not yet able to take full advantage of it because they initial setup requires a lot of time and attention and we are a very busy office.

Pros

Polished site we can direct clients to sign up for is nice to have. The integration with windows and rightworks is a must. Could not use without it!

Cons

I wish editing client data was doable in table form after the initial upload. If we could get a nice dense view of client statuses and we can change data from that view, this would finally replace the shared spreadsheet we use to track client status. User side would be great if more focused on data than dashboard appearance. I don't think we've ever used a "dashboard" for anything productive.

Overall I am satisfied with the software and what I have been able to do with it. Been able to provide a client portal for my client has been of great help.

Pros

Everything is centralized in one software: Access to clients documents, requests, communication with the team, invoices, notes.

Cons

Soemtimes it feels overwhelming. There is so many features that I have not taken advatage of because it is a lot to learn to get them set up. Like the worklflows - still not in place because I do not have the time to learn about it- even spent money hiring someone to do it but every time but when something minimal changes I have to pay someone to get it changed because I do not know how.

Overall I think TaxDome's value for the cost is worth it everytime. It gives you everything you need on day to day tasks.

Pros

TaxDome is such a time saver with everything you need in one place when it comes to document storage, signatures, invoicing, and client communications. On top of that, anything I don't know how to use yet in order to make the back end of work as efficient as possible the AI chat or real customer support can answer anything I need! From a clients perspective, I have had nothing but good feedback on how easy everything is on their end, which was always an issue before.

Cons

There are random reports or tracking that is not possible yet but I am hopeful with all that they have so far, those will be pushed out in the future.

I've been with TaxDome for about 4 years and I switched from Jotform to TaxDome at the start of a tax season because I sold on having a better process for my clients and I've been sold ever since.

Pros

I love that I can manage all of my clients in one place. I offer a variety of services such as tax preparation, tax resolution and bookkeeping and I'm able all of the services I offer for my clients in one place.

Cons

The only con I have is being able to have the option to understand how to better make good use of the workflow automations as I am still doing some manual things for my bookkeeping clients. But that's a 'me' issue.

I am very happy with TaxDome, although I am not using all the platform has to offer yet, it certainly fits my needs at the time and I like that I can grow with it.

Pros

As a small firm, having a secure way to exchange information with clients is essential and this is easy for both me and clients to use. It's also a wonderful and easy way to get clients to sign electronically and help minimize time having to meet with clients.

Cons

The pricing is getting steep for a small firm just starting. I would love to take advantage of the discounts, but don't have the cash flow to pay 3 years up front. I think the pipelines take a lot of work which is hard to devote the time when you are a one person firm. I am looking forward to see what bookkeeping help you have in the future.

I think it's expensive to only send and receive documents Plus, we have to pay for the signature but clients told me that its good and easy compared with other platforms.

Pros

It's good to collect documents and signatures, the stages for "automatic" are good, but they are not really automatic.

Cons

I do not like at all because this portal is not really automatic. The creation for stages is complicated and time-consuming.

Overall, it is a great platform and we are working it to the point that it will run our business and grow it to the next levels.

Pros

TaxDome is great at creating a system that always a company to grow and expand. It also is great with updating the program to include efficient ways to manage clients, information & processes. We will be moving over to the invoicing system and expect payments will be getting to us quicker.

Cons

Once TaxDome is implemented and upload with all of the pipelines needed for your business, it is amazing. Downside was getting to that point especially when you are learning how to work the system. I would like more options to learn, hands on. Lastly, I wish it had a breaks on the amount it costs per users instead of same $ amount for the # of users.

Wonderful. I'd pick them again. They walked us through the upload process and cleaning up our files. The training is fantastic and the bootcamps are interactive with a full team to answer questions on the fly. Honestly, they have the best customer service practices of anyone I've ever dealt with.

Pros

We are in the beginning stages, but the onboarding and assistance is on point. the CRM component is amazing. We went from lacking in bulk emails and notices to sending multiple. We have not fully integrated but will be diving in this summer. The team is incredible. They check in often and offer assistance and extra training as well. They are quick to reply and answer questions along the way.

Cons

TaxDome is a bit daunting because it's so robust. It's easy to overcomplicate the process and implementation and it's scary to take the plunge. We pushed it off for over a year due to this.

Pros

TaxDome revolutionized my practice. It allows me to easily automate organizers and engagement letters, and the reminder feature (for organizers, engagement letters and invoices) save me hours in and of itself. Clients also find it really easy to use, which is perhaps the most important factor with any client portal.

Cons

The automations don't allow for as much customization as I'd like. For instance, I can't create custom invoices tailored to each client's individual fee amounts, even with custom fees. My overall experience with TaxDome has been very positive. It’s a powerful, all-in-one platform that keeps our firm organized and running efficiently. What I liked most about TaxDome is how it brings everything into one clean, easy-to-use platform. Having client communication, document management, workflows, billing, and task tracking all in one place saves a huge amount of time and keeps our work organized. The client portal is especially strong—it’s simple for clients to use and makes sharing documents and messages secure and efficient. Cons

One con of TaxDome is that the learning curve can feel a bit steep at first—especially for teams switching from multiple separate tools or less structured systems. It has definitely been a game changer for our firm’s operations. Having automated processes, guided procedures, and different integrations—such as team chat, client communication channels, and automated payment and billing integrated into the client portal, where clients can choose the payment option that best suits them and process the payment themselves—has brought a lot of efficiency to our daily workflow. Tax management has also become much more efficient, both for us and for our clients. Today, our team is more focused on providing personalized service and supporting our clients’ growth, rather than spending time on small tasks that are now automated. The value we get from the platform is truly worth every penny.

Pros

Having everything in one place. The pipeline helps our team follow standard procedures, ensuring that the quality of work is always consistent, regardless of who is performing the task. It also makes training and execution much easier, since we can add training links directly into tasks and jobs.

Cons

At the moment, I can’t really say there’s anything I dislike. TaxDome is constantly evolving, and their team quickly addresses any negative points by actively listening to user feedback. That said, if I had to mention one thing, I would love to see WhatsApp integrated into the platform, the same way email and SMS are.

My overall experience with TaxDome has been very positive. It has helped me stay organized, streamline communication with clients, and maintain a more professional image. The platform makes it easy to manage documents, collect e-signatures, and keep everything in one place. While I’m still adjusting some workflows — especially around video sharing, which I used to do more freely with my previous system — I appreciate the structure and efficiency TaxDome brings to my practice. It’s a solid tool for growing and managing a modern tax and accounting firm.

Pros

I use TaxDome to manage client information and documents, and it has truly streamlined my workflow. I love how easy it is to communicate with clients through the platform — everything looks professional and is well organized. I especially appreciate the Gmail synchronization and the ability to use email templates throughout every step of my workflow — it saves a lot of time and keeps communication consistent. The e-signature feature is especially helpful, making the signing process simple and efficient for both me and my clients. Overall, TaxDome has made my practice more efficient and client-friendly.

Cons

One thing I really miss from my previous platform (ShareFile) is the ability to easily share videos. At the beginning of tax season, I used to upload instructional videos and simply send clients a direct link — no login or restrictions required, which made access very simple. With TaxDome, I haven’t found a way to replicate that functionality yet. I would love to see an option for easier video sharing in the future. I’m still figuring out how I’ll manage this for next tax season. One feature I’d love to see improved is the ability to CC a team member when sending emails from a template. Currently, I haven’t found a way to do this within the system, and it would be extremely helpful for keeping my team in the loop, especially during tax season. One feature I currently don’t use is the invoicing tool, mainly because my entire team has access to it. I prefer to keep billing and client charging more restricted, and at the moment, there’s no way to limit access or visibility within that section. Having more permission controls would make it easier for me to fully adopt this feature.

Overall it's been a great experience and has been essential to help my business grow, especially after implementing workflows.

Pros

That everything is in one place from billing, to engagement letters, client document collection and organizers. It keeps everything streamlined for my staff and my clients.

Cons

Creating meaningful reports can be a challenge. I'd like to be able to determine if I'm generating a profit after paying my contractors, but given that I bill in a variety of ways it's been difficult to create a report that properly tracks my billing and staff hours.
