I've gotten my brother's company using them and have referred them to others in my city and community as well. It seems like many employees have worked for companies that use them at this point as well, so there's a lot of familiarity with how to navigate their systems. And all of that scale hasn't translated into a major increase in price which we really appreciate as a small business. Pros The ability to run scheduling, with time tracking, for my team that I can automatically pull into payroll. The primary reason we switched over to RUN by ADP was for compliance purposes. When payroll runs being able to easily track sick time, vacation time, worker's comp, and retirement with a few clicks has saved our company hours of work each week at a great price. Cons There are a few systems and communication pieces that our employees receive that sound a bit more corporate than our companies typical communication that I wish I could edit. They are always available if I have any questions or concerns. All of my reports have been correctly filed and paid on time. It's been a true pleasure to work with the ADP team! Pros I've been using ADP Payroll services for several years now and I love that their customer service reps are so helpful and knowledgeable. They go out of their way to solve my issue on the first phone call, although, I must say I really don't have too many issues with them, it's usually something on my employee's side. Their pricing for their service is extremely reasonable compared to other companies. Processing my weekly payroll each week couldn't be easier. The process implementation steps are easy to follow. Their website is so user friendly. Their website interface makes it simple for you to navigate your account online but customer service is available 24/7 if you need them. There's no expensive software I needed to buy like some other payroll services, I just had to start an account with ADP so that was a plus for me. They inform me of any payroll deduction changes, (like Paid Leave) or tax changes that may be coming in the future right away so I can be prepared and, if necessary, notify my employees. Cons I don't really have any at this time. I've worked with ADP Payroll Service for over 5 years now and haven't had any real issues to speak of. The only time I did have issues, it was because my employee changed banks and didn't notify HR and their direct deposit got messed up and ADP solved that issue in 1 phone call and got my employee paid. I was fortunate that the owner was available. Clearer requirements would have been helpful. Also, there were plenty of emails between ADP and SV. A different platform for communicating may be easier. Digging thru many emails trying to locate an item was difficult. It would be great to have everything for the setup in one place. We did have one issue with the transition due to our bank blocking the payroll processing fees and she was able to resolve that quickly. Pros I have used ADP for years, I personally find it easy to use and, very straight forward and I cannot think of a time that I had an actual issue with it. Cons I really do not have any issues with RUN ADP, the cost can be higher but you do have more options for your company. Hope it continues in the right direction. Pros Once RUN is setup with all of your specifications it seems to be rather easy to navigate. Once we finally got assigned a specialist and have the same person to talk to about our account things have run smoother. Cons ADP did not put enough time into the setup process before our first payroll thus many categories or specifics were not setup for us so when we went to process our first payroll it took nearly 2 days to complete. ADP had to keep making correction after correction. Tax rates were entered incorrectly so deductions were wrong. To be honest it was quite a headache getting everything corrected and right. I have access to several important payroll reports and ADP also files the taxes in the name of the company. I don't need to worry. Pros When I got the program was easy to process implementation. Account log in may be for the managers and for the employees. Everyone can set up an account. I like employee management, its easy to use and I can see the reports and do the accounting very easy and it's accurate. ADP always update the tax tables. If I have to ask something, customer service is great, they answer and know the subjet. Cons Personally I don't have any bugs or issues with ADP Program. An issue may be the updates, but they always advice ahead of time that an update is coming. Cons When you change EIN and they do not file the change correctly for years and the Irs is sending you letters and your are told is is being handles and a year later IRs letters more because they did not handle it. then you find your 401 kk plan did not get the change either . Because no one talks to each other at Adp and the follow threw is poor . If you make a change in one department you have to call and recheck over and over . I lost weeks of my time from this .I am still not done and unsure it is really is fixed . worked on this in 2023 its 2026 & I am not certain it is handled yet and what will be my fines from their failure. I do have a couple complaints regarding customization of alerts, and inputting time off for employees - but they have given me work arounds while they see if the programing can be updated. Cons I can't customize meal break times, which causes daily alerts that are unneeded. I can't input call offs on the timecard, I have to do at payroll processing or through PTO request screen. When we were initially getting it set up, the woman who essentially trained me was above and beyond my expectations for kindness, and knowledgeability. Since then, ADP has been there at 3am on a Thursday when I forgot to run payroll to help make sure my employees still get paid by Friday, they've provided compliance trainings and posters for my employees to make sure we're operating within state mandates and requirements, and they have allowed me to streamline my payroll processes and make them more efficient with the convince of generating specific and recurring reports. There are still many features I haven't integrated into my business' daily uses but I am excited to continue introducing them and making things even more efficient with ADP. Pros I love the convenience of access for myself and my employees. The way they can make their paystubs and W-2's electronic, while also viewing their weekly payroll information all from their phone is a game changer. The ability to have my weekly payroll summary reports automatically download has also streamlined our bookkeeping process as well! Furthermore, I have found myself calling customer support when I've either made a payroll mistake on my end or am seeing something I don't understand and their comprehensive availability hours have been so helpful. Cons The fees to run payroll are definitely more expensive than the previous service provider we used, however the benefits are substantially more. It is definitely a cost we have to budget for now, but I would say it's well worth it for the benefits we receive and the information/assistance we have available to us at all times. Pros I like that it is user friendly, straight-forward, and any time I have needed help from customer service, its always been informative and staff members are always top notch. Cons I would love to see more specificity in some of the reports (being able calculate specific fica deductions) and I wish there scheduling software better met the needs of our practice so we could utilize it all. I tried to create a report for a specific 1099 and had to get the entire list but I'm sure it was operator error and not something to do with the app itself. What I wanted was a 1099 for a specific tech but instead I got the full list I just haven't figured that part out yet, but it was one day and 1 report that was needed and I figured out a different way to get what I needed anyway. the tech lost his 1099 for 2025 and wanted me to send him another one so I tried to get his specifically but had difficulty figuring it out what I ended up doing was download the full report then used the snip it tool to screenshot. They did it correctly the first quarter, then never got it right until after we had switched vendors. Pros Setting up our Run was very straight forward and simple to use. It was easy to run payroll and manage data. Cons While the normal transactions and interactions inside of Run were very good. The consistency of paying local taxes was a struggle. RUN has all of the essential HR and Payroll tools that we need to run our business. The application always functions properly and the support team is always ready to help promptly when I have questions or inquiries. Pros RUN is a very user-friendly platform. Additionally, the ADP team continues to make upgrades and constantly works to maintain and improve its functionality. This make it more efficient to use RUN for our HR and Payroll needs so we have more time to focus on big picture initiatives. Cons Sometimes when changing the rate of pay for an employee, you have to do it in the system at a certain time, depending on when the payroll is run. That factor could maybe be more automated.
