It gives you quick links to spreadsheet templates and filing returns takes about 5 minutes. This is one of the few software products that I renew every year without a thought because it saves me so much time, and with the receipt confirmations and reauthentication every few months, I trust it with my data. Pros Its quick and easy integration with the HMRC website makes filing VAT returns extremely quick and easy. Cons Nothing to dislike at all about 123 Sheets. I've been using the product for years and there has never been a glitch. The website is easy to navigate and the VAT submission process is literally 4 steps. Can't get much simpler than that. Pros The thing I like best is the simplicity of the service for filing UK VAT. I download a spreadsheet template fill it in with my company info and then upload and submit. Quick and easy Cons It was difficult to find out about the company as the UK Gov has a long list of recommended providers for filing VAT. I suppose they could create a spreadsheet directly in the web portal, which would save sometime in submission. But if you're a company with lot's of sales to report the current external spreadsheet method probably makes the most sense. Review Source MR Mike R. I dont like being forced to use anything, but as HM Government insist on going digital this is probably the easiest to use and value for money Cons The fact that I HAVE to use bridging software. I did have a query which I emailed to 123Sheets support but it seems to have been completely ignored as I received no reply. I chose 123Sheets simply because it was, at the time I checked, the cheapest solution although seems very overpriced considering how simple it actually is. I feel they charge this amount simply because it's a requirement for submitting VAT, not for the quality of the software. Perhaps non-flat-rate users find it better value, if they use more of the features. Pros It appeared to be the cheapest for the purpose at the time that I initially signed up for it. Pros It is easier to use than the instructions first suggest, which was a relief. I cannot really understand why we need this interface with HMRC. I attended the HMRC online seminar and found it very negative in tone. It is much less convenient than the previous system for a small business, and there were no costs attached to that. (This would apply to any similar products, so is not a criticism of 123 SHEETS.) Cons The link to the default form (identical to the HMRC form, which required no software) is not very obvious. For no apparent reason the typeface is tiny. I found the instructions difficult to follow on first using. They should be geared to users not very confident with software, those who are don't need them. Review Source JW James W.
