I created multiple projects and under each project I had a series of tasks, statuses, and comments. It was very easy to track and manage my workload and I could see quickly what the status was of any given task. Made my job much easier! Pros Easy to use; even with the free version there was a decent amount of customization that I could to to the product Cons There was a LOT to the product - much of which I had no need for, but that is not a shortcoming of the software. Pros I like that tasks, deadlines and who is responsible is very visible so that I can keep a pulse on client's progress and not let anything fall through the cracks. Cons Some of its more advanced features are not as easy to set up as you might expect, and customer support communication also can be sluggish when it comes to workflow questions. Pros It is super easy to use. It works well for someone who is not administratively gifted, like myself. The user page is easy and friendly to use. It even looks pleasing to the eye. Cons I don't have anything I dislike about Asana yet. I have not ran into any snags. I use it less administratively than some of our team. But, from the sales/fundraiser role perspective, I have no qualms! It introduces order to the planning process particularly when it comes to organizing among instructors, administrators and external partners. Pros I find it enjoyable that tasks and due dates are well defined, so one does not need to make follow ups and can easily understand the expectations. The added option to create subtasks in a single task that make following up cohesive, is also appreciated. Cons Been a user for two years and still struggle to find created and assigned tasks to others easily. Creating the tasks is not an issue when you have it open, but there is lack of streamlined searching functions (or personal folder views, bookmarks that doesn’t require a prior notification) to make individual priorities top of your list. Pros Asana is great for project management especially when working in a team setting. I liked the portfolios because I was able to keep an eye on multiple projects at the same time. The overall feel of Asana is very neat and organized and that is always a top priority for me. Cons I wish some resources on the platform could be accessed without having to pay for them, but I understand. One things I didn't like was when I was on the go and using Asana on my phone I was never able to copy tasks to another project. Sometimes the notifications can be a bit overwhelming and can cause the end user to miss notifications that may be important. It has the potential to replace my notebook check list however, I still am growing in experience with the program and still prefer a back up check list. It has made it easier to engage with other departments and assign work to fellow employees. Pros Highly customizable program Tagging tasks in order to broadly organize your work Very collaborative with other departments Cons Sometimes tasks and tags can be missed by the end user A little bit confusing with the timeline interface It can be quite complex so if you are not technologically inclined, it can be quite the learning curve.
