### "Asana - should be everyone's project management tool"

April 17, 2024

5.0

Awesome! Our team became more organized and we are able to quickly run down on the tasks that need to be attended to.

Pros

I like how it clearly shows our team's tasks and can easily add files, tag teammates and show priority boards for our team.

Cons

I can't think of anything right now that I dislike about Asana.

### "Good for task management, wish Slack integration was a little better"

January 26, 2020

4.0

Asana allows my company to assign tasks to other team members and keep record of those tasks to ensure completion. The due date and email reminder features allows a way of ensuring that tasks get done on time and don't get forgotten about.

Pros

I like that Asana can be integrated with Slack, making it easy to create task for other team members directly from Slack channels. I also like that I can follow tasks I've created so I know what the status of those task are. I also like that it is possible to create private projects for sensitive information. Being able to search for tasks also lets me see if someone else has already created a similar task, so I'm not duplicating work.

Cons

While I like that Asana supports integration with Slack, I dislike that there is not an option to format the task precisely as I would like to. When creating tasks in Asana, it is possible to add input fields in order to ensure all necessary information related to the task is entered correctly, however when creating tasks from Slack, these customized fields are not available, so the information is not as complete or well organized as it is when creating in Asana.

### "Easy To Use Software For Collaboration"

November 11, 2022

4.0

Pros

Asana is a great project management tool for remote teams looking to collaborate. The checklist feature for each individual project or "line item" is super helpful when assigning different tasks to different people within a project. The tracking and "progress" feature is an excellent way to see the overall status of a project. Creating new tasks is very simple and straightforward, making the software easy to learn.

Cons

Asana works best for marketing and sales teams in my opinion. As a predominantly production team though, some key features for us were missing. Being able to integrate other software we use daily, with the Asana platform, was non-existent. For example, there are many integrations Asana offers, but Frame.io was not one of them (this being a key function for our team). So, we were unable to link our video projects to Asana, making team members search for the information elsewhere. If Asana could add this as an integration, we would definitely return to using this task management platform!

### "Very useful management tool for project/account managers"

April 28, 2022

5.0

Great and I have found the experience to be seamless for uploading documents, images, folders, etc.

Pros

Very easy to use and share with your team; love being able to check off tasks and see what my teammates have completed

Cons

Layout; I used to use a competing software (basecamp) that I found a bit easier to navigate but, for what it is, very intuitive and easy to use

### "Fits our needs"

July 15, 2021

5.0

Asana helps me keep track of all of my calendars. I use it to track multiple projects with various timelines. In my experience Asana has been easy to set up, easy to learn, easy to use, and great customer support.

Pros

We love how easy it is to organize our projects in Asana. It's easy to see at a glance what I need to be working on, what others are working on, and keep all of our details in one place.

Cons

There are a few features I'd like to have - automating sub task assignments, or custom filters, etc. I think some of those features are available at a higher tier, but not available for a price that fits our budget.

### "Asana Review"

March 24, 2023

4.0

Overall, Asana is a quality online project and task management tool that can help teams stay organized and productive. However, users may need to upgrade to a paid version to access all features.

Pros

What I like most is how easy it is for users to collaborate and communicate on assigned tasks, as well as the ability to integrate with many third-party applications.

Cons

What I like least is that some features are limited in the free version. For example, users are limited to a certain number of project boards and teams, and cannot access all reporting features.

### "Solid Project Management Tool"

May 4, 2018

4.0

Pros

I've used Asana for over 3 years and they have made significant upgrades over the years. I like that the free version is feature rich to get you started with the platform. However, I recommend upgrading, because it enables templates, custom fields, and timeline which greatly improve the tools functionality for managing projects.

Cons

I do not like the dashboard and setup of teams versus projects. As a marketing agency we have many client teams with a variety of projects under each. The dashboard managing at the project level makes it impossible to see where we are in the a variety of projects from a variety of clients. The tool could do a much better job in reporting and dashboard level insights.

### "Helpful tool for SocMed managers and VAs"

June 16, 2021

5.0

I love using Asana. It is more reliable than the other similar tools that I have tried.

Pros

I like the Calendar view as I can list all my tasks and see the dates at the same time. I just need to click on each task that goes directly to its pop up and then I click the time tracker from there.

Cons

When I started using Asana, I was a bit confused with the boards and workspaces. It was a bit overwhelming at first but I got the hang of it.

### "A game changer for managing projects "

December 12, 2023

5.0

Asana has been a game changer for organization of ideas, tasks and projects. My team was literally using a word doc checklist system before, and so the introduction of this program increased efficiency tenfold.

Pros

I love the "to-do list" format, that you can assign to team members and check off as you go. It's very easy to add tasks and subtasks, and the platform keeps everything very organized, which is important when you're dealing with several projects and task lists.

Cons

It would be great if each user could save how they want their task list sorted individually, rather than for the whole group.

### "Just nice"

July 22, 2018

4.0

It's a great, smart to-do list, but nothing more. I prefer it for personal use. For company use with bigger teams, working with images or just wanting more than assigning and checking tasks off, you need something else.

Pros

Asana was my first team/project/workflow management application. I really liked it how simple and easy it is (with a lot of online tutorials), however it is a specific tool for managing tasks and if you expect more, you will be disappointed. Asana is just a super smart todo-list. It looks good, it is straight forward and and has some customization options as well. I highly recommend it for personal use; for team work, you might need something more complex.

Cons

I used the free version, so i cannot speak for the other versions, but most of the time you need more for a project than just a task management app. I was often frustrated when wanted to do something simple, that seemed logical Asana should do, but it just wouldn't. For example chat or image upload. So we had to get other apps for the same project and suddenly team task management was spread over 3-4 different apps. I haven't used Asana for over a year now and switched to other more complex apps. But I do recommend it if a complex to-do list is all you need.

### "Asana Gets the Job Done"

April 4, 2024

4.0

Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but we decided to switch to Clikup for a more user-friendly interface for our team.

Pros

I like the project and task management features.

Cons

I thought that the interface of Asana could be more user-friendly.

Reason for choosing Asana

It was a much simpler platform, however, we were still in search of a more user-friendly platform.

### "Asana perfect fit"

September 29, 2020

4.0

Easy to use and flows are one big plus. I would surely recommend to use it for projectmanagement purposes.

Pros

Ease of use, intuitive and feature rich. When your on a project and need to collaborate or track tasks, this tool is excellent. Also the flows are a big plus.

Cons

Structure of the details of a task could be more like Basecamp. Also when you have a lot of projects it tends to get a bit messy.

Reason for choosing Asana

The choice was easy, monday was more expensive. Trello didn’t have the features we were looking for and basecamp was a bit too simple for most projects.

### "Excellent project management tool once you figure it out. "

December 8, 2016

5.0

We use the free version of Asana as we have a small number of users, but it has become a central project management and communications tool. Because the free version is limited to 15 users, we've integrated this with Atlassian's HipChat, which we received as a grant. Combined, this has been an excellent management, tracking, file sharing and centralized communications tool in an organization where people work on various platforms with different software. This has been a bit of a tough sell to folks used to working with desktop email and Outlook systems, but Asana works well on mobile devices. It also centralizes all information in a searchable database, which has proven enormously useful. However, there is a significant learning curve with Asana, which has hampered our roll-out efforts. Asana's complexity and wide feature set can be overwhelming for the uninitiated.

Pros

Centralized project management, file sharing and search functions save a lot of time and effort by reducing the need to use email. The searchable archive has been very helpful. Overall, Asana has made project work much more efficient by keeping all relevant parties in the loop, all conversations in one place, and enabling file sharing across all devices and platforms.

Cons

Asana's feature set and complexity requires a relatively steep learning curve for the uninitiated. That hampered roll-out efforts in my organization, along with the fact there is no desktop app for Asana. After nearly a year, I'm still figuring out all the features and best uses, so it would be nice to have a variety of case studies/examples from which to glean best practices.

### "Pretty decent but some integrations clunky"

October 4, 2019

4.0

We use Asana throughout the organisation and have found it very useful and powerful

Pros

The basic out-of-the-box Asana is pretty easy for the average user to get to grips with, although we did have our project manager spend time with each staff member to ensure it was being used consistently.

Cons

Some of the integrations are a bit clunky - for example getting any kind of reasonably sensible export of tasks/projects etc requires the Asana2Go extension in Chrome; Gannt charting is absent from basic implementation; Portfolios feature would be more useful if it notified you when a Team adds a new Project.

Asana is a systematic tool for planning and resource coordination. More so, Asana establishes better usage of finances which are slightly limited.

Pros

Asana has excellent plans on matters resources and time, where projects are delivered on time. Besides, Asana has structures for monitoring every action or move the business employees have or make.

Cons

Asana is simple, very strategic, and it increases the value for every process that a company make. The positivity that Asana has is real and resourceful.

### "Project Management/Team Responsibilities"

April 8, 2022

5.0

Pros

I like being able t copy over templates easily and sharing access to boards. It's great to be able to view all projects at a high level and be able to dig deeper into the smaller goals/tasks that make up the larger project. Really helpful for projects with multiple owners for different tasks.

Cons

I wish there were more templates and more types of ways to view dashboards.
