Pros Estimate makes the process from the beginning to the end of a project seamless. - vendor and sub management is very organized and makes quote evaluation very streamlined. - customer support is some of the best I have ever dealt with. very helpful if I need to know how to do something or something isn't working quite right. Cons one con I would say is there is no undo function. It would be a nice feature. It really doesn't make the system less functional I have just had some instances where I edited and estimate but I made a mistake or wanted to change it back for some reason. Estimates are more consistent from job to job and we can see where the costs are going on a line by line basis. Pros Easy to use and duplicate results. Helps ensure that projects are bid with the same standards every time. Cons Setup is very time consuming. With that being said, once it is setup, modifying items is very easy and straightforward. The product functions as represented. Ease of use and accuracy is solid. Pros The estimating platform is very easy to use. We have a simple time getting new people up to speed and learning the various. It is also well known across the industry. Cons We have a difficult time transferring job costing information to the ERP (Trimble). Could be the ERP platform but still causes us grief. Customer service quality has decreased since the acquisition happened. Overall it's a legacy software that new competitors will likely overtake unless Trimble (who just purchased B2W) brings it into modern times with competitive pricing. For the record, we use Procore for project management which costs significantly more than B2W, but the value for what we get is far better. Pros Unit Price bidding and public work capabilities (pay item manipulation, WBE needs, bonding, etc). Also shines on ITB management and labor/equipment burden management. Customer support is good. Cons The Enterprise version is a waste of money (particularly the WBS feature is clearly an after-thought just to say they have it - it has very low functionality). B2W Estimate is targeted to heavy civil contractors which is clear and ok. Just know it's limited and very (very) expensive if that's not your company. It's a legacy software (server based - not HTML based, slower, low customizability, etc). It has no formulas unless you work through Excel. Again, it's a legacy software.
